USC Pro Day
Apr 02, 2008 | 6:38PM | report this
First of all, I live about 20 minutes from LSU. That being said, after USC's pro-day, I'll stick with my earlier prediction that Ellis will be just as good if not better than Dorsey. He's faster, stronger and more durible. Both interior D-lineman will be top 10 picks. Rivers showed he has the physical tools to be the next great young LB in the league. Either way, the Saints have a great shot at both of the 2 top Trojans in the draft. With the moves made in the off-season, especially after the USC pro-day, expect the Saints to try to move up 2 or 3 spots to grab Ellis. Most of the expert mock drafts have the Saints staying put and grabbing Rivers or the best CB on the board. If McKelvin is still available he has a chance at 10, but he'd be the only CB worth taking. Its not happening. 1 of 2 Trojans will be reunited with Reggie Bush. If the Saints medical people are convinced Dan Morgan and Jonathan Vilma look healthy, the Saints will do what it takes to move up and grab Ellis. Patriots at 7th is the best chance for the Saints to take Ellis if he's still on the board. If the Saints can hold on to their 2nd round pick after moving up in rd1, they have a great shot at getting a solid DB.
