I'm not much of an NBA guy. I know what's going on, but it's just hard to get into it until playoffs time. Well, I'm in full NBA mode. By full, I mean a little. I'd still rather talk BCS, plus one, the 2010 NFL Draft, Braves pitching rotation, but come on. The NBA will crown a champion soon. Well, not soon..in about three months.
My question is this: What happened? In the East, Boston/ATL is knotted up. Same with Rock City and Philly. Orlando/Toronto was closer than the 4-1 series looked. And Jay-Z is having problems knocking Soulja Boy off the charts. While the West teams have dominated. Wasn't the Nuggets/Lakers series supposed to seven? Yeah, not even close. Hornets took care of the Mavs easily (surprising easy). Defending Champs took the best of what the Suns had and easily eclipsed them (see what I did there). The only series of interest in the West is Jazz/Rockets.
Wasn't every series in the West going to be a knock down drag out? Where eight seeds could beat one seeds and you don't know who to pencil in. Didn't the Celts and Pistons have reserved seats for round two after four game sweeps?
All I have to say is beware of three seeds and their point guards. Both PGs have seemed to flip the switch.
edmonspk Teams that were expected to do well just didn't live up or meet many people's expectations. But that's what happens when you let your heart rule your head.
As for the Celtics and Hawks that series appears to be far from over. And I for one do believe that many of the Celtics' players have been overly complacent and have gone about believing the hype concerning themselves. All of a sudden they've come to realize that they've got a real battle on their hands.
Supposedly the 'Three Amigos' if they end up loing the series to the Hawks they'll be made to look like the 'Three Stooges' at their finest.

I'm just a little surprised that it's East that is caught up playing more first round games and the West is cruising. Remember that the margin of first to eighth in the West is only a handfull of games.
lakersfan, I'm not so sure. In the NFL this year, the AFC was the dominant conference. New England was undefeated. All it takes is for an East team to come in hot or well rested and play a team from the West that is drained.
But edmonspk, some of the West teams are not having to play those long draining series. Of course we don't know what will happen in the second and third rounds.
But the same thing could happen in the east. Who knows who is going to get hot in the next round and take a favorite to 7 games.
Yes the East has definitely been more entertaining so far...not sure why. Detroit/Boston have taken their opponents lightly, the Pistons have awaken but we'll see what the Celtics do from here on out.
The West 2nd rds will be a lot more competitive though. I can't wait to see if the Hornets can keep up that intensity against the Spurs.
edmonspk
The teams in the West basically know each other inside out. With regard to the East however what we're seeing from the teams such as Boston and the Pistons are the teams themselves taking their opponents far too lightly. Don't be surprised if one of the two doesn't make it beyond the first round.
And as to the Cavaliers and Wizards that matchup is now becoming really contentious and heated !
Something I don't know if LeBron and his teammates are all to eager to be involved in. Ben 'The Stiff' Wallace has been something of a none factor thus far.
edmonspk Personally I think that if Horry can't do it. Then they ought to call in Bobby Boucher's mom !
That hit that she puts on his father towards the end of the move sent shivers up and down my spine.
Foosball Bobby that ain't good and's edumecation ain't gonna get you anywhere in life Bobby. You needs to be at home wit' your Mama !
She turned Bobby Boucher into a man !....Fairuza Balk. Wouldn't we all wish we had a friend like that ?

I'm not trying to be a sports writer. I just want to share some different views with you.
Sid Bream sliding into home may be my favorite sports memories.
