Innocent until proven guilty might be the foundation of law in this country but Roger Clemens says screw the innocent, literally. Reports are circulating Clemens carried on a 10 year affair with troubled country music singer Mindy McCready from the time she was 15!
I tend to believe Roger, after all it's not like 28-year old married men with two kids would line up to have sex with a fifteen-year old girl if NBC's To Catch a Predator is any indication. Have a cookie Roger, Chris Hansen has a few questions he'd like to ask before you're wrassled to the lawn by a swarm of disgusted police.
Rusty Hardin, Clemens lawyer & utility apologista, confirmed the long-term relationship but denied Clemens got beyond 3rd base. He did not confirm whether Clemens would demand to testify in front of Congress about his bagging a fifteen-year old girl.
"He...had...kind of an inappropriate relationship with her," Hardin said. "He's considered her...close... He has...had a sexual relationship with her." (remarks edited for context, clarity and damning purpose)
This shocking 15th hour revelation strips the last Boy Scout vestiges from the reptile formerly known as Roger Clemens. Meanwhile the mouthpiece for former trainer Brian McNamee was going Daffy Duck on the corpse of Clemens reputation calling it another example of Clemens, "...pervasive prevarications." Where I come from we call it something far cruder.
McCready had a No. 1 single in 1996 with "Guys Do It All the Time." Apparently a thinly veiled reference to Clemens insatiable demands for tawdry sex. That's my opinion and it isn't based on any facts. Just the usual rush to judgment in a Jerry Springer Universe.
Hardin did not respond to my imaginary email which doesn't surprise me in the least. Meanwhile the HOF announced a new exhibit, "Would You Like Some Candy--the wit & wisdom of Roger Clemens" was canceled until further notice. Said exhibit curator Hastings Muggeridge-Swinburn, "It was an attempt to rehabilitate the reputation of Mr. Clemens but all of us wondered why he kept quoting Nabokov's Lolita..."
What amazes me is Clemens can't speak for himself...he has to trot his attorney out when any innocent person would be screaming their innocence, I guess we get another self-produced video about this and maybe he'll let Larry King toss a few pillows at him...

Somehow I want to use the horse metaphor "ridden hard and put away wet" but haven't had the opportunity. McCready is another victim of celebrity washed up on the island of diminishing fame...
Not to defend or excuse Clemens, but McCready is batshit crazy. Google some of the #### she has pulled in the past. I think Al's 2nd pic was after a fight with her mother.
What would the average parent think if a 28 year old father of two wanted to hang around with their daughter Hanahan, and agreed McCready is trailer park batshit crazy, how does her precarious mental state exonerate Clemens from "mentoring" the #### out of her when she was 15? I know you aren't defending him, but to me when you're a superstar athlete somebody should have at least warned you it was career suicide...

7 years ago when I was 15 older guys hit on me all the time. In the grocery store, everywhere.
I knew better and besides I thought they were creepy. I didn't care how good they looked or how much money they flashed or what car they drove. Old guys are sick who hit on young girls.
But I knew better. I knew I couldn't go home without World War 3 breaking out if I ran around with an old guy also.
There is more than Clemens to blame here although if he did it he should be castrated. Her parents knew better and so did she. Girls are not the naive know nothings at 15 that everyone thinks.
Works both ways sweetheart. When I was fifteen, I had already slept with a twenty eight and a thirty four year old woman. I was in no way emotionaly ready to be involved with them. I guess that was okay because I was a male right?
I agree with you Nique, if a woman is 21 or older and want to date, love or marry a 100 yr old guy, I have no comment, when guys like Clemens and he's still innocent, snicker, start cherry picking 15 year old's it's a sad commentary on the place athletes occupy in our country...now where did I put that R Kelly CD???
My point was that as de####able as Clemens is what about the girl who knew better or she's a complete dumbo because I knew better at 15 and what about her parents?
My Dad would have dealt with Clemens at the point of a shotgun baseball star or not.
Just because you were not emotionally equipped to deal with it at 15 you had to know it was not common for 15 year old boys to be sleeping with 28 year old women. Double standard?

Yes Ed i do say so. im all for the double standard in this specific area. When i was 15, some of the Teachers? Friends moms? If sixfigure say's he lived my dream that had to wait 2 years later, i say, hey man nice shot!

Whether or not it was after a fight or dispute with her mother. The one thing you do know is that there's probably more to the story than meets the eye. I don't Rocket gettin' his swerve on but preferably with his wife or someone of his own age , not a young girl. This guy and his lawyer will try and spin it anyway that they can.

Well said, I totally pick axed Clemens, no doubt, but what do I owe Clemens? He lied about steroids, he crapped all over the baseball record book, and quite frankly even if this is entirely wrong, I'll be like him and deny I ever wrote it...
