Hopefully they'll be as judicial in their play as their name would suggest ?
If not then the Lakers under the ausp*icies of Bryant, Vujacic and Gasol will more than accomodate them by handing them their hides.
See my boxing post on the retired Larry Holmes titled Larry Is In But It Could've Been So Much More ! Let me know what you think as to the merits of the piece ? I'll look forward to reading your comments as and when you're ready.
edclinch I've also got an NBA post not too disimilar to this . But that piece deals with what's expected out of this series and all of the hype behind it to an extent. That's titled All This And So Much More ! Again as and when you're ready let me know what you think as to the merits of the piece ?
This is the first finals I've really spent a season paying attention and to be honest, it stinks. Nobody deserves to be there. It just shows that the best series, the true championship was the Lakers and Jazz. The finals is a mugging that the officals are allowing to happen. Boston should have been called for 30 more fouls but the fix is in.
All the hype over the series that's yet to live up to all of the expectations.
So what's new at this juncture ?
Oh I forgot the new found allegations by Tim Donaghy that seems to be raining all over Stern's parade !
Stern not only are you an itinerant id*iot but you deserve all that'll be coming your way.
Now who's been Punk'd ?
David you will be and how .....

JokersWild: I have been picking the Celts for the last few months. I wanted someone other than the Lakers. I had mistakenly picked the Suns once upon a time.

Ah ed I forgot you're forever the optimist.
Personally I'd rather not see it like that especially when Stern is denigrating Donaghy for his own end.
Maybe it's me but I've yet to see where Donaghy's proven to have lied as of yet ?
He may well be seeking leniency when it comes to his sentencing. But I think that we've all seen this before.
Remember Selig's stance when Canseco started to make his claims ?
And we all know how that little scenario ended up don't we ed ?
So carry on being forever the optimist . I tend to deal in realities. And this my friend is a reality. The NBA and its whole hierarchy is a complete and utter mess. As too now is the very integrity of the game itself !
So the glass is still half empty or is it half full ? You tell me at this juncture ?
As inquiring minds really need to know !
Jazz/Pacers 09 --> not!
Andrew.B's return will keep the Lakers at the top of the Western Pyramid, w/ Duncan & the Spurs pulling second.
A developed jump shot by King James will certainly bring the CAVS back into the Eastern finals w/ not the Indy but a more experienced and hungry Philly.
THE EVEN OUT? When does it start in this series? The fact the Lakers only went to the foul line 32 times while the Celtics yanked and pulled and eye poked and played as dirty a game I have ever seen in my entire life and that game was in L.A. says to me it won't even out this time.
Now before you call me sour grapes Ed think about this. I said nothing while everyone else was going man oh man when they were in Boston because it only sounds like sour grapes when you lose and say something so I didn't.
But the Lakers won game 3 despite the refs allowing the Celtics to play like a rugby game and only calling the blatant of many obvious fouls. This series is fixed. I'm positive.
Tophatal: The glass is half full. Despite certain negatives and alleged mismanagement or cheating, which is proven in the latter case, the NBA is still doing all right.
It is about entertainment and profit, and the NBA is succeeding on all these counts.
It is not a perfect world or league, but the reality is at the end of the day there are winners, losers and cheaters and we all march on do our best to enjoy basketball and watch the masses pour the money in for a service rendered at a high level.
Topahtal: The Pacers are shopping O'Neal, apparently, and hopefully will benefit in a trade. I hope they get a great PG in the draft and get better, but realistically they prolly won't go to the finals.
The Jazz could.
NBA is the worst: I would say 9 times out of 10 the better team wins the series.
Not perfect, but not a bad rate, right?
Calls "even out", meaning the deserving team wins.
Wish88: See the above comment about the PAcers. Granger is petty good, and he amy still lead the Pacers to as much glory as Jermaine, I hope so.
Baby Tate: The Bucks might get Eric Gordon, and I believe he would be a great player. Not Oscar the Big O, but a good addition. Sampson hopefully helps Milwaukee's long term prospects more than he did IU...
I have lived in a few different sports areas and I am faithful to these places and their passions, give or take. I was born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana (1970-1989). Bob Knight was a central figure. I then lived in Chile for two years, where soccer became more of a presence on my global map. After returning to the Hoosier state one year, 1992, I became more aware of college football for a five year stint in Provo, Utah (1993-1997). BYU Cougar football! I made another return to Indiana from 1997 to 1999, and then spent the last six years in southern California, minus the last six months of 2005, in southern Chile again. And I got back yesterday, UPDATE:Now in Loudoun Cty, Northern VA! I am in the South! I love sports enough to think that they matter...Some how.
