M.V.P. (Most Valuable Puppet)
May 20, 2006 | 2:46PM | report this

I see now why Kobe didn't win the MVP. Have you noticed that the players that win this award are the people the leauge look at as  ideal. Let's look at this season. Nash, Lebron, and Nowitizki all finished better than Kobe in the MVP voting. All of these players possess a "good boy" image. Didn't know that was what the award was about. I thought that was for the player who was most valuable to his team.

Did anyone notice that Kobe was the only player in the NBA this season that was on the First team All NBA and All Defense. They say that Lebron is the complete package, but he is a liability to his team on the defensive side. Note: Tayshaun Prince is averaging 21 points a game in the series, 7 ABOVE his season average. Why? Lebron can't guard anyone. He plays good transistion defense from time to time, but when it comes to the half court, he is invisable.

Like Jordan, Kobe is known for demoralizing you on the offensive end and shutting you down on the other side of the court. Hmm, is that a team player? People love to hate on him because he shoots a lot. Have you noticed that Lebron shoots a lot too? So does Vince Carter, Allen Iverson, Ray Lewis and Paul Pierce.

The fact that Kobe didn't win the MVP still disturbs me because I think that racial motivation and spite were involved with that decision. Kobe has been noted as one of the most hated athelets. For what? He probably has the most competive player int he game. I hope that Mr. Buss can find him some help next season. He needs a big man. The Jermaine O'Neal/Kevin Garnett mold. Both of those players are unhappy with thier teams, maybe the Lakers are a good fit. I may be reaching with that. Kobe deserved that award this year, but he just don't have the strings attached to him, so he doesn't fit the role. What a shame.

Kobe, I ain't mad at ya

Here we go again. Kobe can't do anything to shake the haters off. Let's face it. You hate Kobe. Regardless what he has done to tick you off, you just hate Kobe. Let's just clear the air. For many of you, he has taken his last shot of the season, but the haters will not stop taking shots at him. Let's examine why he is still my boy why he is still "The Great One".

Game 7: Lakers are down BIG at halftime. Kobe has scored 23 points in the first half and they are still down by 15. It is obvious that he can't carry the scoring load and try to shut down Raja Bell. He needs help. Lamar Odom, who has been fabulous the past 6 games, disappeared. Smush Parker vanished 3 games ago, even Kwame Brown played Casper in this game after playing so well, missing layup after layup. What is Kobe suppose to do? Honestly I think he saw the writing on the wall. 1. You are down by 20 early in the second half. 2. Leaondro Barbosa is killing you. 3. Smush Parker can not guard Steve Nash and finally 4. No one is rotating on defense. Now the hypocrites would say, "Kobe should take over", Hmm, isn't that the same reason why you hate him? Don't you want him to lose? The Kobe Hater Nation have to be a bunch of women, because you just can't make them happy for anything.

I admire Kobe for what he did. He has learned more from Phil Jackson that we give him credit for. When the Lakers are not sharing the ball and not playing team defense, Phil will let them get killed. Game 7 was an example of the pupil becoming the teacher. Kobe realized that his teammates didn't have the killer instinct that he possess. You could look in thier eyes and see that they quit on him. Which give me all the more reason to say why Kobe is the MVP, but I will leave that alone, because I don't want to start anything about that mess. The RACIST media will never allow Kobe to relish that honor. The Lakers played like crabs in a bucket. The more Kobe tried to pull them out, the more they keep pulling him back down. Kobe was demoralized. I really hope that Jerry Buss is busy in the off-season. There are some very attractive names on the market. Jermaine O'Neal, Mike James, Kevin Garnett, and Ben Wallace to name a few. I hope that they go after a big man. Maybe trade Kwame, Devean George and Luke Walton. They need help at the point as well. So in conclusion. Kobe I am a fan. I will not adandon you when you are down, like most bandwagon jumpers and I will not judge you because you are just like me "human". A lot of non-athletes will never understand the difference between confidence and cockiness. As a former athlete, I too was considered cocky, but it was confidence, because I didn't allow how anyone felt about me affect how I played the game. Game reconizes game. My last works to the Kobe Hater Nation, keep hating because Number 8 (soon to be 24), will always dazzle your minds on the court and don't hate him cause you can't be him.

What? Kobe is NOT the MVP
Apr 27, 2006 | 5:53AM | report this

Ok, I have lost all respect for the writers and media personell for the NBA. It has been leaked that Steve Nash will when his second MVP award over Kobe. How can this be? I see now that Kobe will never win it. The efforts that he has displayed this year are LEGENDARY!!!!! What Steve Nash did this year was ORDINARY!!!!!! Look at Kobe's achievements 81 points in a game, 62 points in 3 quarters against a leauge powerhouse, six 50 point performances, led a below average Lakers team to 45 wins, the sixth best record in the West (Oh yeah, better than Denver, they just won a sorry division) Led a team to the playoffs that in the preseason was predicted to finish 10th in the western confrence. Oh, I forgot, he plays with the cast of White Men Can't Jump.

Steve Nash has the luxury of playing along another All-Star caliber player in Shawn Marion, and probably the Leauges Most Improved Player/Sixth Man of the Year Boris Diaw. This race shoudn't have been close, but once again the biased/borderline racist sportswriters continue to hate on Kobe. The guy has cleaned up his image. Has the 4th most popular jersey behind Lebron, Iverson, and Shaq. This is why the fans should vote. If the fans vote who should start in the All-Star game, then we should vote for who should be MVP. The writers come up with the names and we vote. Game reconizes game. This will probably go down as the most contrversial MVP race because the wrong guy won.

Why does Nash deserve it? Because he didn't have Amare? Then the award should go to Amare then, because the award is suppose to go to the Most Valuabe Player to his team. It seems to me that Stoudemire is most valuable because he made Nash better. Nash is on a good team. They suffer without him, but they are still a decent team without him. I also believe that they threw the last regular season game against the Lakers to say "Look, we can't do this without Steve leading us" Would the Pistons fall apart if Billups was gone? How about the Heat, would they fall to pieces if Shaq was gone? I don't think so.

Kobe is the best thing the game has going, with Lebron a close second. Lebron has to stop passing the big shot away to another teammate and take those shots. Lebron doesn't possess that killer instinct. Kobe is like a shark in bloody water. When he smells blood he attacks. Kobe plays both sides of the ball also. Do you see Nash making his team better on defense? Heck no, because he is too busy trying to outscore the other team and not shutting them down, hince why they will lose the first round to the Lakers. Kobe plays defense. That is what a leader, a MVP does. So go ahead GIVE Nash the award, but I feel that this one should have an asterik beside his name for  *Kobe deserved it.
