Here we go again. Kobe makes a comment and it is time to jump all over him again. Kobe refers to Team USA as they a lot. Now, for so many people who hate the guy. Now you want him to be a part of your team? Such hypocrites. Kobe made an assesment of the players that were on the floor and the ones that will be playing in the World Championships. He isn't going to be one of THEM. His unexpected knee surgery will hender that. As a American Soldier, I understand how proud it is to serve the flag, but some thing are before country. My faith in God, my family and my health are all before country. So does Kobe has his priorities mixed up. I don't think so. He has committed to play for the U.S. in the Olympics. I don't see anyone calling Kevin Garnett, Shaq, or Tim Duncan un-american for choosing not to play. I will always be bias when it comes to Kobe, because I think the guy is a great talent and vastly mis-understood. Let him be.
I think the team is just fine without him. As for Kobe, the perception people have of him was created by him and his agents. Kobe has no one else to blame except himself for how he is treated. Stay true to your wife, don't argue with the best center in the league who you should have fought management to keep, and then you run off the best coach in the league, only to bring him back. Kobe just being Kobe.
I don't feel sorry for athletes who put themselves in positions like this. He has no one to blame but himself. I could care less what he does. In fact, the team probably feels relieved with him not there...no tension. Oh what a tangled web we weave....you know the rest.
thats better than mine Miami-15 Strong Lakers- Kobe Strong
i havent heard anyone begging kobe to be on the team besides his loyal followers (funny since hes usually unloyal, esp. to the wife)wanting him to play on team USA, the only guy im pissed about not giving an invitation is AI if they truly are going for a different and patriotic mindset, then why not have AI share that mentality? if he embraces that mentality it can only be a win-win for him and team usa
seriously, people arent real happy with any of the players who decided not to play, for whatever reason(s) they chose not to.
from a personal standpoint, i never wanted kobe on the team, and i dont really care that he accepted the invite. it took him forever to make up his mind to actually join the team, now when the rest of the squad is practicing, and playing puerto rico tonight, he's not there. surgery or not, my opinion is that he just wants to play in the olympics, where the real glory is. (call me a hater, i dont care, it wouldnt be the 1st time)
at least shaq had a half-way decent excuse...he's been there, and said it was time to give the young guys a chance. (plus, lets face it, he's probably not thrilled about working hard during the summer).
First of all, PapaMidnight - #### YOU. Another coward that does a drive by shooting. Go start your own blog and make a comment or two there so we can come by and throw eggs at your house. Freaking spineless wonders.
Secondly - Sorry duke, but Kobe brings it all upon himself. He has to be "THE MAN" or he pouts. Unfortunately for Kobe, there are enough players that actually like playing on a TEAM that Kobe would not fit in. I admire your man love for Kobe but don't get upset that most of us don't.
he didnt take forever to make up his mind...i dont know where u got that from...
he has been the 1st to commit...if you want to criticize him for waiting for the surgery..i can buy that..he could have had it right after the season.
he's the best player in the world..discussing whether he is playing is always relevant...esp..when the USA plays in a close game...im out
