i am sick of all toronto sport franchises for living in there glory days of yester years. when the toronto blue jays brought back cito gaston as there manager it was just another toronto franchise living in its past. cito gaston was a good manager when he was here in the late eighties early nineties but that was in the late eighties and early nineties. the team and franchise has shifted but yet when a toronto team feels it needs help it seems to bring back the 'old days'. the problem is, what was successful then is not alwys succesful now. toronto fans have an issue that when a player, manager or even general manager of yester years is brought back into the organization they think the team will return to the glory days. when the maple leafs brought back doug gilmour the fans thought that was the missing piece to the team winning the stanley cup. what??? doug gilmour had nothing left. might as well bring back lanny mcdonald and darryl sittler. i think if the maple leafs management would say that wendel clark is coming back for a forth time fans would go crazy and think the stanley cup is our to lose. the blue jays brought back tony feranadez three times, they even had dave steib come back after being out of baseball for three years. the fans were saying that steib still had a great change up........ that was his fastball. so bringing back cito is just another of these type organization moves. it wont be long till joe carter and roberto alomar start lacing them up.
yours truly,
dr jeish
