Well, well, well. Michael Vick’s other co-defendants are finally rolling over. What, it took less then a month? Yes, I received your “you are an ####” & “you suck #### because you are a Fed and are racially profiling” emails and just ignored you all. Some wrote to “get off his #### and let the justice system decide;”and some wrote “what’s more important an animal life or a human and have we stooped that low?”
It’s has been about a month give or take a few sleepless nights for Michael Vick and now, the other two co-defendants have decided to enter plea agreements. Yet, we are still wrong for treating Vick with distain and disgust because of what we think of him now and his actions. I was called everything but a man because I am a US Marshal and mentioned from the start that I thought his “buddies” would plea out. Jai_Eazy came on board after I mentioned the process and how his life was altered once he was indicted. Jai’s had his charges dropped after having his job taken from him and his whole life changed beyond repair.
Jai, unlike Michael disassociated himself from the other defendants from the start. Michael went across state lines, violated multiple federal, state and local laws and disregarded any heed to stop; even though he knew what he was doing was wrong. He thought he was so sly, nothing could touch him because he had the endorsements and $130,000,000 to boot. He was man enough to flip the Atlanta fans off with the middle finger. Now, he seems to be more of a man than the other three co-defendants are. On the other hand, is he more stupid or thinking we are just stupid?
Time can be the greatest ally or the most feared opponent. He alone must face the burden of proving his innocence. He has come out and had his lawyer prepare a statement (in his words) that proclaimed his innocence. He insulted all his fans (that he had) and now is going to have to try to get a court of peers to find him innocent of the accusations. The same court that understands his co-defendants have already pleaded out.
Oh how things have changed in the course of a few weeks. His partners in crime are realizing that all the status symbol Michael Vick gave them, the “New Kennelz Posse” has fallen apart, this is not a game, a pit bet, and Michael cannot buy his way out of this. He said he did not know what was going on at his house, if you can believe that. Of course, we may not understand what is happening in our house either.
The NFL commissioner is still investigating what recourse he has and in his statement, the gist of it says, that if he lied to the commissioner that is a violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy. Maybe Vick is the only one of the four accused, err three, err two, and err one that still wants to defend himself with a jury of his peers. What a paradoxical name that is now for him. A jury of “peers!” Considering the peers that Michael Vick has associated himself with since 2001 and if I were he, I would hope to be able to get the first draft in the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary’s Fantasy Football Draft. He had so much talent but was so short on common sense.
Hopefully, we'll hear some juicy legal items by week's end.
If not,
Red Rover, Red Rover, tell Vick to bend over.
Welcome to the cellblock, beyotch.
How can Vick escape this legal issue like he eluded DLinemen for years? He can't and I'm sure his lawyers are now explaining the concept of 'plea bargaining' with the prosecution.
The problem for Vick is that he has no chips left in this poker game.
With his homeys flipping on him, it doesn't look good for the head of the Vick Family crime syndicate.
Still, I think he'll go to trial, hoping his highly compensated jury consultants will use voi dire to stack the jury with sympathetic souls.
I think deep down inside most people feel as you do. I happen to live in the Hampton Roads area where Vick is from. The name of his Kennel is "Bad Newz Kennels". Which the Bad Newz is taken from the city he grew up in, Newport News, VA. The crime rate there is pathetic, and thus people have taken to calling it " Bad Newz".
I personally never really payed much attention to Vick. I am a Redskins fan, and therefore my main focus is on the Skins and our division. Vick has always been a good QB, but a bit to selfish for my taste. I do feel that though he may not have directly been involved in the killings of those poor animals, but he did participate in the fighting, leaving his lackeys to clean up the rest.
I wonder if everyone knows why this even came to be known about Vick and dog fighting? Actually, there was a warrant being served on his cousin for running drugs at that property. During that search, the grounds were the dog were fought was found. Has everyone also forgotten about the incident in the airport where they found Vicks water bottle with the bottom cut out? It was not too long after that the search warrant was issued for his property.
Anyway, before I type a whole blog on your comment section, I feel that Vick will lose his career in the end, which is a damn shame that he would waste his talent. But, the pressure of these defendants turning against him will be more than he can bare. If he is truly innocent of these charges, I hope he is found innocent.
Thanks for a great piece!
Hail to the Redskins!

what's even sadder is the fact that these guys who are now flipping on Vick are the same guys that undoubtedly told him they would always "have his back"... and look, the first sign of trouble, they run to the hills. way to pick your friends Mike.
maybe the next time you make friends - friends who are ONLY around because of YOUR money - you'll pick some who understand the concept of loyalty...
I guess you are happy they got him. It sucks as a Falcon fan since his life will be ruined by a bunch of dogs. I'll try to hold on still since it is my duty as a Falcon fan hoping there is a slim chance they will find him innocent. But I admit that with this it will be hard. You said that the Feds had a 95% rate of convicting. I think it is 99% right now.
I always said I felt he was knowing all and have no sympathy for him. (The previous posts have mentioned that before). I am glad that his "buds" rolled over on him. We haven't really addressed the IRS tax evasion for gamblings, which I would bet was never declared - ever. And those could be more indictments and court dates which could add consecutive time, not concurrent. To all the supporters that have always felt he was getting a raw deal over the animals, justice has yet to be served. What hasn't been mentioned is that eventhough the two guys that are pleaing out this week are asking for leniency by pleaing out. The judge can still say that he is NOT abiding by the plea the attorneys agreed on and max them out. Usually, the early bird in pleaing is only the one that gets the lightest sentence. There is a reason they are both pleaing and that is because their attorneys have seen the evidence and are advising their clients. Vick was given a deadline of Friday to plea and after that, there is a superceded indictment.
As for the conviction rate, a plea is considered in the conviction rate and since the first three are pleaing, that is already 75% ahead of the defense counsel. These aren't the LA county prosecutors trying to make a name for themselves. These are US Prosecutors that are selected and requested to the appointed duty position on behalf of the US Attorney General and the top of their field.

While the defense counsel looks for loopholes, the prosecutors are specialists at different areas, case laws and pluigging those loopholes. If I were a betting man, I would say that by Friday at this time Michael Vick will have an amended court date. Also, should the IRS feel that back taxes were owed, they can seize his property and incur penalties since the first verified date he started betting. So if he pleas out and the prosecution gets a plea, and the evidence suggests he was betting back in 2001, ALL interest and penalties start from that date. Michael Vick can't scramble or even audible out of this. It's okay Falcon fans, you have Joey Harrington over center. My best advice, hope to hear, "With the first pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons pick, John David Booty, QB, from the Univesity of Southern California."
I am glad he thought he was such a smug and cocky person. His buddies weren't and realized the gravity of the situation. So they rolled over and tried to get the best deal they could. Vick wants to play this out thinking he will be able to be OJ II. What an ####. I am glad he never won a Super Bowl and what will he be known as? A wannabe football player that let not only his fans, his team mates and his league down, but let himself down. But the $130,000,000 was good while it lasted. And that was a good point about the IRS grunt. Just look at how Al Capone and how the government got him. Vick thought himself as a superstar that left the "Bad Newz" part of the town. The punk left the street but the street never left left the punk. I hope he makes a break for it and runs from the police and then the K-9 unit chases him and he becomes a chew toy for a German Shepherd. Thanks for letting us down Mr. water bottle. I hope you get the roughest cellmate and he treats you like a street tramp ####.
Brohm would be a perfect fit for them and if Michael bush doesn't work out in Olakland, maybe they could get him. That would help them tremendously. Good point QCisco and that would make a lot of sense, he would be comfortable. Do you think that his father would come along from U of L as incentive and to help him get on track. After all, Petrino had him on his staff and also his brother I believe.
Brohm would be a nice fit provided he can get through the season unscathed. Vick is just stupid, his brother is stupid and I hope the feds max him out and the judge agrees. They can call him a #### in prison. What a punk.
Yes, I said punk for all the Vick supporters that want to get on here and dispute him. I said it, he is a punk and will be a prison #### for someone in a cell block.
Who is the #### now Michael and your attorney says they are moving forward to the trial. Duh, it isn't them going to be a "rectal dummy" in prison, so I hope they are good for you, or you are good as Cell Block Charlie....####.
