Well Ohio State fans, the time has come to enjoy some crow. LSU 38 - OSU 24...sigh.
It has been said that revenge is a dish best served cold. Some have said the same about crow, but I disagree. So...just because I care - I have provided you with some recipes that may help you stand the bitter bird just a bit easier.
Having been a life-long Dallas Cowboy fan, I have had several long stretches in which I have had time to perfect some of these recipes.
In skillet brown the crow breasts, then place them on a 1 1/2" layer of sauerkraut in bottom of a casserole. Cover each piece of meat with a strip of bacon and sprinkle the onion over them. Cover the breast with another layer of sauerkraut and pour sauerkraut juice over it. Bake two hours in oven heated to 350 degrees.
*Tip: Since your tears are naturally salty, crying a bit over the casserole, after removing from the stove, can add just that extra bit of needed seasoning that makes the dish special.
Crow and Mushroom Stew (Button and Buckeye Stew)
3 crows 2 Tbsp cream 1 Tbsp lard/shortening 1/2 cup mushrooms 1 pint stock or gravy salt and pepper cayenne pepper (this should be easy to find in Lousianna - may even be on the table)
Clean and cut crows into small portions and let them cook a short time in the lard/shortening in a saucepan, being careful not to brown them. Next, add to the contents of the pan, the stock or gravy, and salt, pepper and cayenne to taste. Simmer 1 hour, or until tender, add mushrooms, simmer 10 minutes more and then stir in cream. Arrange the mushrooms around the crows on a hot platter.
*Note: The pieces are big for a reason - it is supposed to be hard to ####. For some reason it is easier to pallete when eating it with friends and making excuses about the referees costing us the game - so be sure to invite your entire National Championship party entourage over for some.
Potted Crow: (BCS Buckeye Surprise)
6 crows 1 diced onion 3 bacon slices 1 diced carrot stuffing of your choice chopped parsley hot water or stock 1/4 cup flour 1/4 cup shortening buttered toast
Clean and dress crows; stuff and place them upright in stew-pan on the slices of bacon. Add the carrot, onion and a little parsley, and cover with boiling water or stock. Cover the pot and let simmer for 2-3 hours, or until tender, adding boiling water or stock when necessary. Make a sauce of the shortening and flour and 2 cups of the stock remaining in the pan. Serve each crow on a thin slice of moistened toast, and pour gravy over all.
*Tip: if you soak buckeyes in water for about a week, you can get this great bitter horse-chestnut sauce, pictured below, to pour over your dish. This reason is that you don't want to actually enjoy this dish - or you could be in danger of being the next Notre Dame.
TAKE HEART BUCKEYE FANS
On the upside, you can see that Ohio State will probably be better next year than they were this year. The 2006 recruiting class is starting to come into its own and may be good enough to win it all in spite of idiotic defensive coaching decisions made on their behalf. Only time will tell.
This is the time that I am supposed to say "better luck next year." - But I won't - because I don't mean it.
One last thing. This is for a few special people - YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE - SEC is 7-2 in bowl games this year. The Big Ten? 3-5.
Okay Buckeye fans. I have heard your best in the last few weeks and you have heard mine. It's time to bow to the alter of trash-talk gone bad.
After the first couple of comments that have been left I need to remind you of a personal rule:
If you want people to see your comment - No profanity - or I'll delete it.
Dash, You are the "King" of smacktalk my friend! this was good! one of the best I have read around here. Where are the nay sayers? what I am really anxious to here is what are the excuses?????? As an LSU fan, "I am proud of my damn strong Team"...
Dashman, again you just laid down some hilarious smack. Congratulations to LSU and their fans on a well-deserved national championship! I'll have my crow with a little cornbread if I may.
//SIGNED//
A disappointed Buckeye Fan

This has to be one of the worst televised games! When a big play was made they went to a commercial, and the commentators left alot to be desired! Supposedly they had 24 cameras to cover the game, but on several key plays they failed to show the results on tv!
One more thing ty dashman for such entertaining write ups! You write, I read!

Thank you for being the man among the fans that commented before the game. You are the first to take defeat gracefully - at least on the surface - and without written profanity.
Now, if you are kicking and screaming inside, that's no problem. I have been there my friend - and understand your pain.
My prediction was WAAAAY off. I predicted that this one would be a nail-biter with LSU winning at the end by 3. Now my clairvoyant reputation will suffer mightily.
For a Vols fan you're having way too much fun riding LSU's back!
I was hoping for a closer game but when OSU scored right off the bat I was thinking "Oh no, not again!" and sure enough after spotting the Buckeyes 10 points LSU turned it on. Good game for the Bayou Bengals! Congratulations!
I am surprised the OSU faithful have not come on in full force with non-relevant excuses, but it is still early, their frontal lobes may still be throbbing from the butt kicking that was just dished out to them.
I would like to take this opportunity to say that I would put Jacob Hester up against any defense in this nation to see if any of them can knock down Hester for a loss. I seriously think nobody can do it. It would be like the 8th world wonder if it were to happen. What a beast!
The final score didn't come as a shock to me, but I know plenty of OSU fans expected to win. Crowdpicks.com had the game at 29-26 which shows how many of them there are. The only thing that still surprises me is that Big 10 fans still think that their conference is considered "elite". Nice #1 defense Ohio State, let's see how it would have ranked in the SEC, Big 12, Pac 10 or heck even conference USA. Schedule tougher than Youngstown and Kent.
Next year is a bit better on the schedule. They start with Div IIA Youngstown State again - which is stupid, but they catch USC in the third game. That one should help the strength of schedule. At least it would make the record legit if they go to a BCS bowl with one loss.
Yep. My dad's family is in shock right now. The most vocal SEC-bashing cousin of mine is a school teacher in South-East TN. He's had an eventful day and I'm sure some of those tears shed were his.
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to add to the discussion.
They look to be stronger next year. And if they make it back to the final game, with USC third on their schedule, you won't hear me sing the "cupcake song" that you did this year.
OSU shuuld probably not have been in this game. A BCS game yes, but not the title game. OSU had some easy OOC games and when they played Wisconsin and Michigan, both teams were hurting at key positions. OSu has a good defense and Chris Wells is the real deal, but their pasing game is weak and that was obvious in the NC game as well as the last game verses Michigan.
LSU was able to control the line of scrimmage to the point it reminded me of how Michigan dominated agaisnt Florida's lines. LSU was able to not turn it over 4 times like Mich did, but the one INT did result in a TD.
LSU looked like the better team, not that OSU isnt a good team, just young and a bit overated. OSU will be much better in the next two years. They are reloading as we speak, as I am sure, so is LSU.
You're right. OSU returns 11 on defense and 10 on offense. The 2006 recruiting class, if they finally come into their own, could be something to be reckoned with.
Next year they meet USC in their third game, so if they make it to the NC game - at least they had a strong team on their schedule to validate their season...not like this year.
They still need to stop scheduling 1AA teams. They start again with Youngstown State. I've you're gonna schedule a creampuff, at least do it in your own division. Youngstown State barely has a .500 record in 1AA.
LSU is losing a lot more, and will have some big holes to fill on their O-line.
Thanks for coming by and commenting.

Beautiful post. I especially liked the hard to #### on purpose line. Once the defense settled down, OSU was stymied most of the game. I was really impressed with the offense of LSU. I thought that OSU's defense was somewhat overrated, but at worst the Buckeye's D is very, very good.
I'm just happy it is over and LSU won. I was hoping the defense would do well, and I thought they did. As a Nebraska fan, all I can say is welcome back Bo.
