JackRoush has done it again. Jayski.com is reporting that Roush-Fenway announced today that JoeyClanton has been released as the driver of the 09 Zaxby's F-150 after one race. As usual Jack the Ripper intends to keep the sponsor, Zaxby's Restaurants. Clanton is to be replaced for this Friday's race at California Speedway by TravisKvapil. Kvapil is a former truck series champion, and drives a Yates Ford in the Sprint Cup series. Hiring a wide eyed kid, and then stealing his sponsor is nothing new for the #### in the Hat. Among others, he has done this same shameful act to StantonBarrett and KevinLepage.
For the second week in a row KyleBush will compete in all three NASCAR series at California. It will be hard to improve on last week's two 2nd places, and a 4th place. He is currently in the top five in all three of NASCAR'S major series. The only other driver to be in the top ten in all three at the same time was MikeWallace back in '03.
MikeSkinner will attempt to qualify the BDR #27 BadBoyMowers Toyota for the Cup race. One of the most fitting sponsors ever.
MarkMartin will make his 700th Cup start this weekend in Cali. Congrats.
Better add MattKenseth to your fantasy group this week. He's won the last two Auto Club 500's at Cali. He has two other Cup wins, and two Nationwide wins at the track.
CarlEdwards carried his 2007 BuschChampionship trophy to the Missouri Capitol this week to recieve a resolution from the backslappers. No word on whether or not he broke out the back flip.
JoeyLogano is scheduled to make his first Nationwide start on May 31 for JGR at Dover. He turns 18 on May 24. He's doing some Cup testing for Gibbs to gain some seat time.
Finally, is there any track more boring than Cali?
Thanks for all the info. CJ. Man I dislike Jacka * * Roush. How does that guy sleep at night. Yeah I know he has more money than any man could ever spend but he is such a jerk.
HR....thanks for chiming in. Much agreed, #### Roush is di####able. Clanton brings his own sponsor with him, and Jack fires him after one friggin race.
Thanks for all the updates CJ...that is indeed disappointing news about the Roush deal. I gotta say Pocono nearly kills me so I will throw that race out as the most boring!
Dwindy....You might be too smart for NASCAR. Hah. No, there's always room for a new fan. If you really want to get into NASCAR, pick a driver to pull for and to keep up with.
Martin is now driving a Chevy for DEI. Dale Jr's old car, #8.
Ford is greatly outnumbered by the other makes. Plus, they're not really that great at the restrictor plate tracks anyway. It won't be a surprise if a Ford wins this week in Cali.
Thanks for the chime, and feel free to fire away with the NASCAR questions.
kris.....thanks for reading....Yeah, Pocono is pretty bad. Another one of my top five most boring is Indy. It has a lot of history. BFD. It also has bad stock car racing.
Country, thanks for the news up date..I too am not a real fan of 'cat in the hat' as he doesnt seem the type of person who 'cares' about his employees..more like a SGT in Marines...pitty the development drivers who he 'gives a chance' to! My most unfavorite race is Bristol, yes I know I will take the heat over that one, but its so small, there is next to no room to pass, and has soooo many fender benders, there...now I will hear the thunder after that one! Pioneer
Hey there, Ms.50.....how you been doing? While Bristol is one of my favorites, I wouldn't disparage you for not agreeing with me. To each his own. I used to hate the road races. Most of the other cookie cutter tracks are so boring that I now look forward to the road courses. Now I'll probably hear the thunder also. Chime in anytime.

Well done CJ, great scribble, #### hatting makes the world go 'round...every driver should lose his ride after each race and then their names go in a really big hat, maybe Barry Bonds can lend them one, then they draw names about one-minute before the race and the drivers have to sprint for the cars...that's my idea...I call it a scrambled egg start...
cjag...there's no track more boring than Fontana...but with all the rain, it might be provide fans a lot of angst anyway. It will most likely be rained out, judging by all the horrid weather we are having, with more on the way. Looks like the Golf Channel will see a rise in viewership.
You've provided some great information here. I've never been a fan of Rousch. Mark Martin's 700th? Pretty impressive.
Lisa, I've asked this before, but on one seems to know. At the risk of sounding stupid, why doesn't NASCAR run races in the rain? We civilians drive in the rain all the time.
Lisa.....NASCAR decided to race in So Cal in February because the weather everywhere else is too iffy then. Brilliant! Thanks for the chime, and stay dry.
OSL....What's up, brother? There are all kinds of reasons for not racing in the rain....No wipers, no defoggers, no brake lights, no grooved tires. NASCAR has tried to rain race a couple of times, but gave it up.
I think the real reason NASCAR doesn't have rain racing is because...who wants to SIT IN THE RAIN, and watch a race?
