Tragedy, Redemption and Sean Taylor

The Toughest Day Ever in Redskin Nation

Most of the time, this blog is all NASCAR. But as a long time, passionate fan of the Washington Redskins, today is different. Today is bigger than NASCAR, bigger than the NFL and bigger than sports.

A man many thought of as invincible was shown to be a mere mortal.

He is a freak of nature -- carrying a size with speed rarely if ever seen.

He is one of the most fearsome players to ever don a uniform.

He is larger than life in so many ways.

The idea that 24 year old Redskins Safety Sean Taylor is now "clinging to life" after being shot in an apparent home invasion is nothing short of unbelievable.

You can read the full post at Epic Carnival.

UPDATE:  The Washington Post is reporting that Taylor has opened his eyes and is responding to doctors requests.  This is the first positive news on Taylor so far.

Mad Props and much love to the Post's Jason La Canfora for the outstanding job he has done using his blog to keep this story updated.

Praying for his recovery. Very dangerous times for pro athletes. This comes not long after the rash of home invasions up North of NBA players houses.

As you know by now he has gone, and what a sad day for Redskins fans and his family. This is a very strange & freaky to me cause of what happen before a month or so before. Someone robb his house before and left a knife on the bed ? No alarm system going off ? CCR I think theres more to this then what most know or are saying.

Something is wrong with this picture,Who would go in a house and kick open the master bedroom not
knowing if the people on the otherside had a gun
or not.The person who shot him knew they didn't have a gun,the break-in weeks before was a sit-up
for this to happen.Just my opinion.

Tragic. Unbelievable.

I don't know if you ever heard of Siran (sounds like = Su-ran) Stacy, but he was a very talented and "star" running back for Alabama Crimson Tide college football. Sad news last week here in Alabama about he and his family being T-boned at an intersection in South Alabama. His wife & four children were killed. Their funerals are later this week. Stacy & a 3 year old daughter were injured, but Stacy was released from hospital yesterday and his daughter was released over the weekend. Sad news on top of sad news these days.

My prayers go out to Taylor's family and loved ones during this time of loss and grief...

Certainly a sad time of the year for this to happen.
