This weekend we return to the scene of the crime where Mr. Popular viciously cut off the Candyman in an attempt to keep the Candyman from another win. Only through the amazing driving skills of the Candyman was a certain wreck averted.
If you recall, the Candyman was hanging back a few spots from his jealous teammate, Delivery Boy, who was leading the race. The Delivery Boy’s spite towards the Candyman was causing tension in the shop. Not only was the Delivery Boy’s jealously of the Candyman’s success mounting, but he was getting increasingly agitated at being relegated to be the shop's "Go-fer" guy - picking up pizzas and auto parts and such. But HEY, why does he think he was given the FedEX sponsorship?? Come on! He has "Delivery Boy" written all over him! Not everyone can be the "Sweet Talking, Sugar Coated Candyman"!! Some people just can’t accept their place in the world!
Anyway, in an effort to boost Delivery Boy’s spirits, the Candyman figured he’d hang back and let him lead most of the race and wait until the very end before he passed him. But then, Delivery Boy’s erratic driving caused his tire to blow and sent him to the back of the pack! Now that there was no longer a reason for the Candyman to hang back, he started moving forward. Just as the Candyman was making his pass for the lead, Mr. Jr., most likely envious that the Candyman’s rapidly growing popularity would soon displace him as NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver, deliberately and maliciously cut off the Candyman! Amazing!! And I thought Mr. Popular wanted to be known as a "clean driver"?? HA! I tell you what: he isn’t going to get that reputation by trying to wreck every driver who passes him! As we all now know, through his superior driving skills, the Candyman was able to recover, but Mr. Popular wasn’t so lucky! Perhaps he’ll think twice next time before resorting to dirty tactics to get a win!!
However, while this near catastrophe was going on, that Whiskey Guy snuck by the Candyman for the win! The Candyman was understandably disappointed at being cheated out of his win and finishing second, but when he heard the overwhelming din from the boo’s and jeers directed at Mr. Popular for his unsportsmanlike conduct, he figured that there was at least one guy who had it worse than him! I bet there wasn’t one fan out of the thousands attending who wasn’t mad at Mr. "Popular"!! The Candyman saw Amp cans thrown all over the track, as Mr. Popular’s fans rejected him. I’m sure THAT will lower the voltage of his sponsor!!
The Candyman certainly gained a lot of respect that night! NASCAR even honored him with a Police Escort off the track! How many drivers get THAT kind of treatment?? I bet you Mr. Popular never has!!
What a man, that Candyman! Loved by children, respected by his peers, praises sung by beautiful women! Lets all aspire to rise to his level of greatness and cheer him on to victory this weekend!
At Bristol Saturday night, the Candyman once again displayed his class and sportsmanship after that Mr. Horse Teeth guy resorted to dirty tricks to steal the win!
After leading most of the laps, it was clear as the race was nearing the end, that no one could catch the Candyman. The Candyman even slowed down some so the other drivers wouldn’t feel emasculated by his dominating performance! Of course, no expected a driver in the Cup series would try and capitalize on this and sink as low as Mr. Horse Teeth! He took advantage of the Candyman’s generosity and tried to wreck him!! The certain crash was only averted through the unmatched driving skills of the Candyman! I’m sure the rest of the drivers where in awe watching that awesome display of driving skills!
As we've come to expect from the Candyman, he took the high road and didn't retaliate against this deplorable act. He simply gave Mr. Horse teeth a little tap, letting him know he could do the same thing right back, but had the class not too! He would’ve just simply blazed right back by him, but the Candyman’s jealous teammate took advantage of the situation and pinned the Candyman down at the bottom of the track in a desperate attempt to pass this icon of NASCAR. As we all know, he was unsuccessful, but he held up the Candyman long enough for Mr. Horse Teeth to gallop away.
Now we come to one of the most amazing events in all of motorsports history! After Mr. Horse Teeth crossed the finish line and took his dirty win, the Candyman, rising to new heights of sportsmanship never before seen, went and gave him one of those congratulatory "donuts" on the side of his car! Remember? Like that guy in the black car used to do? What a gesture! And the ties to NASCAR’s past tradition just made it even more special! What was Mr. Horse Teeths reaction to this? He tried to wreck the Candyman AGAIN!!! Unbelievable!!!!
The Candyman was understandably upset by this nasty response to his spectacular display of sportsmanship, but he took solace in the wild cheers he could hear from all the fans at Bristol for his class in the face of such nastiness. I bet the Candyman gained THOUSANDS more fans that night! I bet even Dale Jr. was envious of the love displayed for the Candyman that night!
I know you all are just honored to be alive at a time like this, to be able to witness such greatness. Don’t let the de####able acts of others discourage you. We all need to follow the example of the Candyman, and rise above the poor sportsmanship of others. Let’s save all our emotions and use them to cheer the Candyman to victory next week! That’s the way the class acts get their revenge: rising above the fray and taking the win through clean racing!
I hope from witnessing this event, that we will all aspire to take the lessons learned from the Candyman’s example and apply them in our own lives to improve this world we all live in!
What a man that Candyman! A Pillar of virtue! An example to all!
