Last night, to many of your dismay, Javon Walker was beaten and injured in what appears to be a robbery. He was left beaten in an alley. But wait, what's this? Where was the alley. Hmmm, none other than the favorite place of Pacman Jones. Viva Las Vegas baby! The city that never sleeps. The city that "makes it rain!" But wait again. What was Walker wearing and carrying when he was attacked? Oh yes, that's right. He had 3,000 dollars and 7,500 worth of bling! 10 grand worth of goods! That just might temp a man in Sin City to maybe, just maybe, attack him. Now I may be naive here, so bear with me. I don't think it is the smartest thing to do to walk around a city full of creeps with a bunch of money flauting around your chains. That is just me and my old white boy values.
But this is nothing new! We see this all the time. Atheletes that get themselves in trouble because they can't possibly sit home and watch the latest episode of Desperate Housewives like the rest of us. They just have to go be a pimp in Las Vegas to prove their cool to their bros and hoes. Go big or go home they say. And we all remember what happened to former Redskins safety Sean Taylor(R.I.P) He made some bad friends because he had flaunted his newfound wealth around and then he went and got killed. And Javon Walker was close to the same fate.
Now why is this common in the NFL. I have several thoughts.
The black mentality. Oh man, did I just say that? I said black, and I generalized! Holy ####! Kill me now. I am a suppremist. Actully no. But as many can see, it seems to be common for many black atheletes to go around and try to be cooler than Jay-Z or 50 Cent. They got the chains, they got the cash. Let's see who can be the bigger man. Now get in the car and we'll get a guy in a drive-by. Many black stars in the NFL are overwelmed at the fame and fortune because many had grown up in poor conditions and now can't get used to this.
The No Fun League. Man, what is up with the league. No drugs, no fights, no nothing! This isn't fair. I wanna pop my booze at whoever I want and I want to make it rain like Katrina! That is the mindset of many of the players today, (cough) Ocho Cinco (cough). I think that these players are just so put off by the thought of behaving like adults that they have to release that energy somewhere. For elementary schoolkids, its recess. For these "adults", I guess it is strippers. To each his own I guess. But you can't go around picking fights because you thought that the stipper knew it was YOUR money, if after you put it in her garter belt. Morons.
We need to stop this epidemic of crime in the NFL before it becomes an worse. I like what Goodell is doing but just ban these guys for life. Not just year after year. Adam Jones, gone. Oddell Thurman, gone. Tank Johnson, gone! All gone! We need a league of role models.
Who cares? The bad apples will weed themselves out. J Walk showed his #### in a strip club then got beat down and robbed. BFD. Happens every night to someone.
Instead of generalizing, why don't you name some of (cough) Ocho Cinco's (cough) off the field transgressions? What crimes has he committed? He's no thug.
Ocho Cinco is far from a thug your a ####. If you see a NFL player in vegas do you would you not think that he would have cash on him? J.Walker is well known he didn't have to wear the bling or have cash to know the man had some. Now my question is how did he get to an alley, what was he doing there,ws he thrown into a car and taken somewhre was he mugged in the middle of the street and then dragged into the alley? Maybe he was buying something he should not have been buying...just saying.
Hanahan-Ocho Cinco hasn't commited any crimes(yet) but he represents the mentallity of the players. PFLTHR- The average person wouldn't know J.Walker by face in the dark, it was an inside job and the normal person doesn't carry 3 grand worth of cash at night. There is a thing called a credit card if any of you idiots has heard of it.
Credit cards are for poor people. Do you know how many tourists walk around with that kind of cash? Alot it's Vegas it's all about the cash. Ocho is not even close to being a thug. You make yourself sound like an i.dio.t. If your a sports fan You would know it's him. But like what mycomment said next time I go to vegas I won't take any money, good advice.
VEGAS IS A GREAT TOWN... AND ALOT OF FUN BUT SOMETIMES COMMON SENSE SHOULD PREVAIL.. THERE ARE NUMEROUS GANGS FROM NORTH VEGAS JUST WAITIN' IN THE WEEDS TO SEPARATE A FOOL AND HIS MONEY .. MY SOURCES TELL ME HE LEFT WITH A PAY GIRL FRIEND. AND A CAR TRAILIN' BEHIND ... HE;S LUCKY THEY DIDN'T KILL HIM ....HOPEFULLY HE WILL USE THIS AS A LEARNING EPISODE...
some of you people are so dam stupid! Im not in the leauge. I carry 2-3k in my pocket when i go to vegas and yes i do wear nice jewelry when i step out. He simply got set up and robbed period. It could have happend to anybody.Im a friend of javon's and have been at the club with Javon. He is not a trouble maker by any means. As a matter of fact he would take the shirt off his back for you .If you worked hard your whole life to reach the level he has reached you should be able to splurge every now and then. Big deal he kick it big for a weekend in vegas. If you had the means you might do the same haters.Call him over paid ,but a franchise who has won multiple superbowls didnt see that way. They made their team better with a huge potential player. And for all you people who feel like he deserved it your ignorant as hell .
PFLTHR-Many people walk around with that cash, yes, but they don't flaut the money around at night.
Hanahan-Ocho Cinco is a #### and I hope his ankle gets worse so he gets to sit out like he wanted. A waste of good talent.
Tiger-very good point. Vegas isn't the happy-go-lucky city many think it is. Since the 80's when gangs took over the city, it is a breeding ground for quick muggings.
Digaman-You know Javon? The what the hell are you doing on a blog? Ask him for some green and go get out of here. Come to think of it, what am I doing here? Oh that's right, educating all of you. Still not convinced you know Javon, one guy said he was childhood friends with Derek Jeter, and that guy is a plumber.
bubbB you act as if you have some sort of vendetta against Chad Johnson. Chad runs his mouth a lot yes, but what if you had super bowl talent and you were languishing away on a team that really doesnt care to win a super bowl all much? If anything, him mouthing about wanting to be traded tells me he WANTS the super bowl over huge bucks. That says a lot to his character as a player. You typed "yet" when you said he hasn't committed a crime, why? Does a player talking about wanting to leave the team he is on a lot automatically mean he will break the law?I'm not getting your reasoning in several areas of this blog. You can't throw people like chad johnson into the same group some of his own teamates are in.Wouldnt you be frustrated too if your goal was the win the super bowl, but were on a team with all the distractions the Bengals have had the past 2 or so seasons? This team is horribly not living up to expectations if you look at the players on their roster, but you cant look at chad's statistics or his off the field life and blame him for it.
The media was out to make him out to be a "bad guy" and you bought into it. You put this man on a team that cares about winning and just like TO and Randy Moss, you wont hear a peep out of him.Im not even a bengals fan, but I am a fan of chad johnson. I dont care if he shows out or not, all he is doing is having fun. And if it wasnt for him, that team would be a far worse team than it is now.
And how do you know Jevon Walker was flaunting anything?I dont normally post on these blogs, but i read this one and had to say something. As

SteelDeathBed-I dont have a vendetta against "Ocho Cinco" but if he wants to win a super bowl, how does yelling at your quarterback, taking attention away from winning and proclaiming yourself a hall of famer help? He thinks he should be served happiness on a silver platter and I am here to say he shouldn't be.
I disagree. He wasn't always this vocal. Years of languishing on a team that not every member or management even seem to care about playing in a super bowl has finally snapped him. At least that's what I believe. You put this guy on a team that at least cares and tries hard to make it to a super bowl, you wont hear much out of him. He has the heart of a winner and is stuck on a team that only knows losing. He doesnt want anything handed to him on a silver platter..If he did,he would expect huge money WITHOUT putting up the numbers he does. He finally realizes that 3 good players still aren't enough to win the title.Dude isnt getting younger either. Try to get out while the getting is good. randy Moss and TO prove that a player can be different if theyre playing on a team that cares about winning. Id Love to see Chad Johnson here wearing the blue star. And he wouldnt even be the slightest distraction here either. You put these so called " bad boys" on a team where winning is expected and is around more than just 2 good players...you see a change. It's already a proven fact.Like Randy Moss' last season in Oakland..Why try hard if youre the only one on the team that cares about winning when you know you cant will a team to a title in the NFL all by yourself?Same as Chad is experiencing now.
Actually Walker claims he lost about $3,000 in cash and $100,000 worth of jewelry in the robbery.
Broncos teammate Darrent Williams died in Walker's arms in the back of a limousine on Jan. 1, 2006 in downtown Denver. This was following an event in a night club where Walker and others were spraying the crowd with Champagne and some of the patrons took offense by it.
He claimed to have learned from it, and laughingly, he claims that what he brings to the table in Oakland is - get this - leadership.
So what does he do? He sprays the Vegas club patrons with $15,000 worth of champagne. He pissed off several people and next thing he remembers, he's waking up at daybreak in an alley after being rolled.
Yeah he was a victim, mostly due to his own stupidity. I believe it's unfair to play the race card here, as we don't know whether more whites, blacks or Hispanics have been rolled over being stupid, rich and highly intoxicated in Vegas. He painted a big-#### target on his own back before he staggered out the barroom door at 6:30 A.M... Life's all about choices.

Many chuckle heads have stated the following on this site:
"It's a man's right to wear as much jewelery as he wants."
It's also a giant ROB ME sign, fools!
This story gets worse, the more we hear.
In Dallas, peeps get killed for their wheels(not car) far too often.
Anyone walking around Vegas wearing 200k in jewelry is SUPPOSED to get robbed (unless you're in the mafia and none of them are stupid enough to spend 200k on gold and platinum chains) it's a "hood law". If he doesn't get robbed what kind of message are the criminals sending to visitors. Keep it real thugs!
The black mentality: Yeah it might 'sound' racist but you're absolutely correct with your assessment. I wonder if Bill Gates or Warren Buffet ever 'make it rain' in a strip club (or Peyton Manning for that matter).
I'm just another guy with other opinions. If you like my style, go for it and read. If not, yell at me and I will yell louder. I'll throw the race card into your face. I take a hard look at sports and try to find the real meaning for NASCAR, which is just an advertisment for beer.
