GIVE CREDIT WHERE ITS DUE
Nov 19, 2007 | 9:05PM | report this

Today was the match up of the Vince Young and Jay Cutler. This game was a game that involved a lot of players who played together before getting drafted. They may have been on the same team in the NFL or played for the Titans. But this was a big game that Denver needed to win and did win with authority.

We can all agree that ESPNs comentary sucks more then a crack head trying to get her next hit but they really made me mad tonight.

I know, we know, America knows that Denver is not by all means a sexy team at all. I stand by my team win or lose and I have put them on blast but I have also givin credit where credit is due as well. Today it was all about Vince Young and the Titans. They made the Titans sound like they were the Pats, and Pats they are not.

Vince is a good QB I will give him that but as a whole the Titans are not that great. But not 1 time did they have anything nice to say about Cutler or the Broncos. When Denver actually plays football the way it needs to be played they are a very good team. The Broncos dominated this game tonight. Cutler is a very good QB we have just hits some bumps in the road on defense which to me looks like they are fixing. But Denver looked real good tonight and the Titans were still getting all the kudos. How can you say a team is that great when they are getting put to shame? Granted the Broncos could have played a little better but this was not an ugly sloppy game by any means. So where is the credit to the Broncos?

It was all about the Titans. To me personally I dont think the Titans are that great. Sure they are good but not great. ESPN give credit where credit is due or are you going to wait until they make the playoffs?

I had the game on in the background and as soon as halftime came up the unhappily familiar timbre of Chris Berman's voice sparked a Pavlovian response in me to mute the TV. I'd say muted is the best way to watch ESPN and their hype machine.

Denver got beat 41-6 or something like that by the Lions, that is why they were disrespecting them. Their defense was giving up like 180 on the ground for a time, and they have no marquee players. a lot of people don't like Shanahan and are sick of people telling them how good the Broncos are and they fall on their face, every year.

A commendable win by your Broncos. Hopefully this'll be the win the team and Shanahan needs to turn the corner ? As we all know it's not been the best of times for the team and Shanahan in particular as of late.
He's had a tough time trying to blend this team and get them to understand what's not needed to succeed at the highest level.

Ian watching the game muted is no fun though thats why I have surround sound so I can hear the game really well. They are just very bad at what they do.

Dat- Rightfully so we have had some bad games but they have had good games to and Cutler is actually a very good QB. They focus too much on the bad and cant give credit where its due because they arent the sexy team this year.

Top I know we have had some very bad games but my thing is look at the good that they have done. I hope this is the turn around of our season. I kinda feel bad for Vince Young though it was like he was the only one who tried to play.

That Titans' team is still learning and as good as they appear to be as of now. They've still got a long way to go. And as of yet they've not put together a string of consistent games with Young playing well thoroughout.
That'll be his defining moment as of now when he's able to put together a consistent string of games where he plays well. See my post under the rampantfanatic Yes It Was A Tragedy But All 'bama Did Was Lose A Game ! Let me know what you think as to the merits of the piece ?
I'll look forward to reading your comments.

Ohhhhh I can feel your pain ... 34-20 and it should have been a LOT worse. Looks like the horsies are joining Oakland on the golf course.

I agree with you...I don't know when Cutler has been given any credit this season and he should be because he's a good QB. He was in college and he'll continue to get better and better in the NFL.

I agree about the Titans, Broncogirl. The Chargers played horribly against them for three quarters and the Titans let them hang around and come back for the win.

Just thought I would check our your blog since you have commented on mine so many times. Thanks again for the banter.

Hey broncogirl,

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

I caught bits and pieces of the game, and from what I saw, the Broncos had a poor defensive game plan. From what I see, they need a big run stuffer in the middle of the line, and ends that can play the run. They have lightning-quick ends, but they're small and can be manhandled against the run, even by tight ends. As for Cutler, he is going through some growing pains. He'll be fine.

Jon that game was horse ####. We stunk. Flags against the Chargers should have been thrown a lot but never were Rivers is a so so QB who has diareah of the mouth has no class at all. I am not a Raiders fan but I hope Sunday that the Raiders knock his block off then next year Denver will get his ####. Its personal now.

Maybe next season Elvis Dumervil will come flying around the end and crush Rivers. I saw that yapping duel Rivers had with Cutler and the Denver bench. Nothing like a good old-fashioned old school rivalry heating up again. I would think the Raiders would love nothing more than to ensure the #4 seed for the Chargers so they would have to play the juggernaut that is New England. New England 57, San Diego 7.

Personally, I hate the classless trash talk as well. I have no doubt that it went in both directions, but I always want my team to seek higher ground. If they are going to complain about the other team being unprofessional (like last year against New England) than they have to be above criticism.

By the way, if the Chargers drop to #4 seed, they would play Jacksonville, not New England next.

Merry Christmas Broncogirl and don't worry, my next post will talk up the Chargers, but it will also rag on Rivers and the other trash talkers.
