Ahhh remember the days of school when you had to sell stuff or your kids had to sell stuff for the school fundraiser? I remember when I had to do it. Well as you all know I am sure Dorryien is in kindergarten and he came home with a fundraiser. I swear he just had one like 2 months ago. But he is selling magazines and cookie dough. Not just any cookie dough but 3 pound tubs of it. I cant get people the cookie dough because I dont know how to get it to you unless they ship it directly to you. I dont know I will ask the PTO. But you can however order a magazine subscription. All proceeds go to adding new playground equipment, more bark for the playground and other things for the school. its cute when you go to the grocery store , and ooops there they are selling girl scout cookies, in the front entrance to the store and as you are leaving , this little voice says you wanna bye some cookies?? hey if your like me?? how can you say no.......
Why do they have these fundraisers? Isn't that why we pay local taxes? To pay for school stuff? I'd rather take my kid to a park with ME to play on a playground. While they're at school I don't want the main concern going to their playground equipment. How about a fundraiser for some decent teachers and education?
They seem to hit just before or just after the 2 big Girl Scout ones.
And the youngers girls do get so excited. If they don't sell to you, they look like you didn't want to be their friend. (I have gotten our troup to say THANK YOU anyway!with a positive spin)
Chux was once questioned because someone accused him of baking and eating brownies. Anyway, I'm broke with fundraisers at my door. What ever happened to the PTA having bake sales and various other venues that raised funds, course we didn't go on field trips every other week either and usually one was to the stone quarry to watch Fred excavate material for homes.
Really, it annoys me that kids have to sell things, else they aren't allowed to participate. Fuzz
Cygnus- We pay taxes to pay the teachers that are there just for the pay check and not the kids. Just like most the school supplies are for the teachers on my sons school list he had to bring trash bags dry erase markers and all kids of other stuff. I think like 5 things on the list were for him to actually use.
Fuzz the fundraiser is killing us. This is the second one since school started. We buy stuff from my son then we get stuff from the little neighbor boy and the kid next door to him. My son went on his second field trip today we had to pay for a field trip t-shirt so they knew what kid went to each school then we just spent money on school pics then we are buy his art work. He did a picture and they put the picture on coffee mugs and stuff like that then ordering books. I thought he was going to be cheaper when he went to school but I was wrong hes more expensive. Oh then Nov 1st they are having Santa pics done but I am not buying those ones because I am going to take the kids to see Santa together and get the pics done together
It went all right he got 9 tubs of cookie dough sold. Nobody wanted cookie dough because they didnt want 3 pounds of it so we bought 3 tubs. Good lord thats a lot of cookies.
I am 22 and I am a huge Broncos and Avalanche fan cant say the Rockies suck anymore and I never got into basketball. I should probably go and change my favorites seems how some of the people where here when I first started blogging in 2005 and they are not here anymore but I just choose not to right now.
