Since January 1 2007 Denver has had a lot of problems. Deaths then problems off the field. This post is not about that though. I cant believe I am doing this because I am not a big fan of basketball but this is about the Nuggets. Early this morning Nuggets forward DerMarr ( what kinda funky name is that) Johnson was tased by police. His nosey #### got himself involved in of all things a girl fight. Thats a big no no if you see to girls fighting stay out of it.  He was then tased because they couldnt get him under control. Two girls are fighting and they need to get him under control?  He was charged with interferening with a police officer and resisting arrest. Ok so youd think the Nuggs were done for the day and nothing else could go wrong for them. WRONG. Later on this afternoon Nuggets guard J.R. Smith was in a car accident. He ran a stop sign and collided with another car ejecting him and the passenger in his SUV. I feel bad he was injured and that the other guy had to be air lifted but goodness #### there was a stop sign. PAY ATTENTION. I am sure after the investigation they are going to say that drugs and something else played a factor. I think I need to go home to Denver and start getting my football players and these basketball players back in line.

The simple fact is that the above the law and out of control mentality has long been pervasive in the world of professional sports. Wads of cash, tons of media exposure and the fact that most everyone will do anything for you, makes most athletes feel that they are in a special category of do no wrong. And if I do wrong, you will forgive and forget. That is the attitude that exists and as our children see and attempt to emulate this behavior the cycle will continue unless society holds them accountable.
