You left the Cardinals out of the NFC playoffs, If they get in,(which I believe is a great possibility,) do you still see the Seahawks getting in?

i like the cards as well i went back and forth but idk they have not proved to me yet. I think The viks are better then the Giants no way they go on that run again next year and with browns jags. Snowy january day in cleveland ha low scoring its possible. i wanted to put the giants over minnesota. but minnesota cant choke every single year... can they

and no i have the cards missing it by a game. Its either Cards or Hawks from that division i dont see two getting in from the west. especially with Gb and Dall in the north and DAL and NYG in the east

The Panthers will not win the NFC South. The Saints will with their high powerd offense and a defense that has a stud D-lineman now named Sedrick Eliss. No busting through the middle on runs anymore and no doubling up on the very good DE they have.

Besides are you really going to put your faith in a QB who is coming of elbow surgery and a rookie RB who hasn't even carried a ball yet in the NFL. On the D side Peppers is washed up, Dan Morgen is gone, Rukers retired so that leaves them with what? The South will come down to either New Orleans or Tampa.

i dont think peppers is at all washed up. and i jsut do not think one player will do what new orleans needs to turn it around. they are intriguing though and i mean damn Tampa, NO and CAR can win that division it will be close the whole way

Actually a Vikings choke has become a tradition there, kinda like a reagular season choke has become standard for the Cards. The first team to overcome this problem will be the first team with a chance at the Superbowl.

Aw great, just what we need... another hack prediction/prognostication. How are these even feasible? If I recall, Sports Illustrated had the Giants dead last in the NFC East last season. Well we all know what happened in a sleepy Arizona desert....
But the bottom line is, NO ONE but God knows who'll do what. None of us 'mortals' can predict any injuries, bad ref calls, draft choices that don't pan out, trades, team chemistry thru the season, etc... There are FAR too many intangibles to say, let alone predict scores there, Carnac.

i did not say just because of cold weather i like how htey stack up with those D-Line pickups. and not really playing it safe as much as facing reality i think, but hey maybe too safe i do not really know.

I'm not sold on Cleveland making the playoffs. Pittsburgh wins the AFC North with a 9-7 record. I'm also not sold on NE even going to the Super Bowl. It's either going to be Indy or San Diego in the AFC.

As far as the NFC, I'm not sold on the Cowboys making the Super Bowl. Romo's going to make a huge mistake that will cost the 'Boys a playoff win. I'm also not sold on the NFC North having two playoff teams. The NFC East and NFC South will have two teams each.

Gambit, I think the world of ya bro, but the Saints will finish behind the Panthers. Jonathan Stewart will barrel over opposing D-lines to the tune of NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He's going to be a BEAST. I do have one concern about the Panthers: their D-line as a whole. The Saints will be a wild-card team.

I think the Vikes win the North division and the Packers edge out the Eagles and Skins' for the last Wild card (the other going to the Giants).

I also think the Saints take the South and the Panthers aren't even close.

I do think the Cards' will be game this year but QB play will cost them again and they will just miss out to the Seahawks. Prediction the winner of the NFC West will likely have fewer wins than both wild cards and perhaps a third team that just missed the playoffs like the Eagles and/ or Skins'.

That in itself can change a whole lot in just the NFC alone.

I like the Cowboys over the Vikes in the NFC championship game (AP is a beast) and just to be different the Colts over the Steelers in the AFC. Also don't be surprised if the Raiders make a run for the Wild Card. AFC divisonal: Colts over Jags just barely and Steelers upset Pats.

Agreed, 70.

Minnesota has to be the popular pick to with the NFC Norse.

And, Seattle will not lose to the friggin' Packers in the playoffs - GB is at best a 9-win team without #4, and they'll miss the NFC WC berth.

=o)

Seattle may lose to the Cowboys if they end up meeting in the postseason, but I don't see any NFC team other than Dallas that's as good as or better than the Seahawks.

Dillrod....the ONLY thing holdiing the cards back is their tradition of losing. If they ever learn to put teams away when they get ahead, they will be at the Jags, 'Hawks, Panther's level! Just because they can beat the Steelers, doesn't mean they have learned how to be that next level team. I am hopeing that this is the year they turn the corner and level up!

if you think seattle is better then green bay u must be on something... did you not see the last game of seattles season... ryan grant handed 14 points to the hawks.... and the packers massacred the hawks, destroyed them... not even close after that... it was a joke... the pack are way way better then seattle get real... start watching football thanks... i do not get how u cna say that abotu seattle they got dismantled by green bay... can anyone else back me up here? that was a pitiful playoff game... if u go up 14-0 you should at least stay close... wasnt even a game 20 minutes later... come on be real ... and 70... 13-3 last year ur saying that favre was the whole team... ur probabyl the same one who bashes him saying hestoo old... he was not the leader he used to be... its a team game... and GB has a great def. and a good offense...

Packers: Favre was the whole team. They've got talent, but you're taking a rookie over a team hungry for the big game again? Keep dreamin son.

Cowboys: Tough. Better than the Hawks, but we'll see how things are going in January.

Giants: Also a good team, but also a lucky team. I don't see them making the second round.

Vikings: Just stop right there. Seriously. I'm already laughing too hard.

r u kidding? Do you really think that the Browns will beat the Jags? Browns can't beat Pittsburgh and the jags beat them twice, once during the season and the other when it counts playoffs.

I can see the G-Men beating the Vikings this year. The problem with the Vikings is that they are only good with rushing be it offense or defense. They cannot pass or cover efficeintly, and that won't get it done in the playoffs. Plus, I think the Giants will be a better team next year with the pressure of Eli and Tom Coughlin. Granted they have virtualy no shot at repeating, but I think they could handle the Vikings.

i guess you do nto pay attention to the offseason tony... in the nfl we learn... last year is not alwasy relevant... the browns have ahd huge acqusitions.... jags havent

and to who says favre was the whole team i wont ever waste my breath on that you do not know football enough obviously...

and a rookie? rodgers isnt a rookie...ha

Wow. So has everyone officially jumped on to the Viking Ship this year or what? While I think they will improve there is no way they are better than a one and done playoff team. Tavaris Jackson is easily one of the worst starting quarterbacks in the NFL. Sure he may lose his job early on in the season but I don't see any of his backups being able to carry them past the first round. The NFC North has the potential to be a very solid division this year for the first time in a long time. The Pack should compete and let's not count out the Bears just yet. Barring key injuries, (which seems to happen to them every year,) the Bears defense should be as dominant as ever. I think people forget how important Mike Brown is in that secondary. That alone should be able to give them a few more w's no matter how inept their offense proves to be.

i agree with that... but when i did my standings and saw what position teams would finish in i had gmen vikes... and i think thats one team minn cna beat in the playoff ...i can not even begin to count chi IN becuase of hteir lack of offense... nobody i repeat nobody is there to produce i just do not see them having more then 5 or 6 wins....

Hello All, My belief for the 2008 Superbowl will be Manning vs Manning. The only team that can stop Indy is San Diego and the only team that can stop the G-men is Dallas. Phillip Rivers and LT will give them a game but Indy will win by 3. Tony Romo is a Seasonal QB but not quite ready to win more than one game in the playoffs, not alone just a victory. Eli now believes and Peyton wants another ring.

These are just someones thoughts guy. I just read someone calling a four time superbowl champ and superbowl MVP overated. lol It's just opinions and everyones entitled to one.

I think people are confusing the Cards of the past with the Cards of the present. It's the system and the Coaching that is going to change things. The ownership should receive a big pat on the back for bringing in this staff, with this system.

The Cards will make the playoffs this year as a wild card and barring major injuries, they will only get better.

i agree about the cards with they will only get better a hundred percent... tehy are a team to watch this year and the next few. it was hard to say this is the year but it may as well be ... i have them missing barely this year and then next year doing their thing but yeah thats a good point again 'zona is turning things around just like the Aints did ...

The NFC Worst blows. NO WAY there will be two teams coming from that putrid division. Seattle wins the division with a 9-7 record, 10-6 at very best. Arizona will never win with the overrated Matt Leinart at QB. Why the Cardinals give him the starting QB job is beyond me. If Kurt Warner started the whole season, then I might give the Cardinals the benefit of the doubt. The WC teams will be New Orleans and the runner up in the NFC East.

Being a Lions fan from the ole NFC north. I could see GB and the Vikes making it. I could also just see the division winner gettin it alone, with that Wild Card goin to the NFC South...heck, maybe we will have like in the AFC last year when they had 3 teams from the AFC South...The NFC East would be the only con. that could feasibly do that though.

Yes, lots of Viking bandwagon jumpers. Jared Allen doth not make them a serious contender! Legit? Yes. Serious??? No way, still have a huge question mark at QB and their secondary! If Antonio Winfield is leading this team in tackles again it will be a short play-off berth!

Wont comment on your picks...you could be close or way off...its just to soon...but fun to read anyways!

-Giants won't make the playoffs
-Cowboys haven't won a playoff game in 12 years, that won't change
-Patriots are too old on defense to make it back to playoffs
-Steelers will be win the AFC North wit 12-4 record
-Vikings don't have a QB so they will be at home watching the playoffs wit us...Tavaris is anotha Kordell Stewart

brnxbm, you're a fool the Hawks are way way way better than the Packers. The Packers had a fluke season and they'll go back to the bottom of the NFC north standings. If you really look at that team there isn't any guys that are really established great players, other than Al Harris and Woodson of course but they're both over 30, they had some young talent that all got a little bit of confidence from their overrated leader Brett Farve, now he's gone and their chances of being great are also gone.

Another thing, you're apparently from the east coast and none of you guys could care less about us in the NW, you always think that all of our teams are trash. Just wait til the season starts and the Hawks tear it up and the Giants are sitting at home in Feb. (another team that got very lucky)

I wonder what you see, or DON't see in Leinart that we are missing here in the desert. Don't get me wrong, I am NOT disagreeing with you, YET. While there is no evidence that Leinart is going to be a great quarterback in the pro's, There is also no real evidence that he won't. There have been 4 hall of fame quarterbacks that took 3 or more years to mature into a starter. Just curious as to why all the hating on Leinart. You are not the first person to call Matt a bust.

Gintzfan4life, you are the voice of reason.......the reality of parity is what you've watched the past 5-6 years, and the difference between the very best and the very worst is minimum. Luck and all the other stuff mentioned dictates too much of the results.

Giants were not the best team last year, I think even the most die-hard G's fan knows that, but they deserved the win because they made it happen.

I think if you copy the standings from last year, +/- 1 game will give you this years results....EXCEPT for the usual suspects......those 3-5 teams that GET the bounce or call rather than not, who decide who makes the play-off's or not, i.e., NO, Vikes, etc.

My 2 cents.......
