The Important Rants That Include O's and Ron Mexico
May 29, 2007 | 11:48AM | report this
What will we call the years from 2000 to 2009?  We have an easy reference to decades past.  For example the 80's , 90's, or the 60's for those decades.  How are we going to reference the first decade of the new millenium?  Also if anyone uses the letter O in a number they are a MO-RON

Here are a few to choose from:

1. The Zeros
2. The Pre-Teens
3. The Bush Years
4.Posts 90's
5. the Oughts?

I have no idea what will catch on but if you know, let me know!

Michael Vick
is a bad guy.  First it came out that he was using the name Ron Mexico to get medical attention at clinics for VD and was also used so he could pump more chix without them really knowing who he was.  Remember last year when he flipped the bird to those Falcon fans after the game?  That was classy!  Now if it is true, dog fighting?  It is now said that he was a big baller in the dog fighting scene back in 2000.  The informant said his dog beat Vick's dog in 2000, the year before Vick was chosen by the Falcons with the first overall pick in the NFL draft. But wait a minute!!  How could Vick be a big baller while he was still in school at VA Tech?  During this investigation they seized 66 dogs, 55 of them pit bulls, and equipment that could be associated with dog fighting.  Where was all the funding coming from?  How would you like this guy to be the face of your teams franchise?

MILWAUKEE - A thief found out the hard way that robbing a woman isn't the best way to capture her heart.  Two hosers robbed a U-Haul store.  But instead of fleeing, one man lingered and tried to strike up a conversation with the woman he had just robbed.  "He stuck around and was trying to get the female employee's number," U-Haul general manager Patrick Sobocinski said. "She said he was just saying, 'Hey baby, you're pretty fine."  "She said he was saying, "Can I get your number and go out sometime," Sobocinski said.

NFL high crime rate, steriod users no big deal?
Jan 23, 2007 | 5:29AM | report this
I can not phathom the reasons that the NFL seems to be able to have so many crimes every year and personel being arrested, but it doesn't outrage fans, hurt attendance, or hurt TV ratings?  This year alone The Bengals had 13% of their roster arrested.  Chris Henry of the Bengals has his own rap sheet that would send any common street criminal to county jail.  At some point Marvin Lewis is going to have to get the attention of his team and get it into their heads that they are blowing it.  They only have a short window of their lives to play NFL football and make all that money.

Tank Johnson of the Bears has to get special permission from a judge to get clearance to go to the Super Bowl in Miami because of gun charges against him.

My Detroit Lions well known for being backasswards didn't even have any players arrested and they are in the city that was #2 on the highest crime rate in America list (I live in the city ranked #3).  Oh wait......there was one of the coaches who was arrested twice in a two week period. Once on charges of driving nude through a Tim Horton's drive thru.  Although he was just merely using "it" as a bagel holder because he didn't have a drink holder for his coffee and had to drive with his other hand.  Then he had a DUI about two weeks later.

Shawne Merriman was caught using steroids as well as a few other players.  If theses guys played baseball, hockey or were in the NBA they would be shunned by their fans and crucified by foes.  Merriman even though he missed four games from the steroid violation was still actually a finalist for the league MVP.  He did have 17 sacks, but he was juiced up for most of them.

Michael Vick gets caught with a "residue"?  What the hell does that even mean?  You can get busted for residue now?  I think they should have just arrested him for being so stupid.  This is what should concern the Falcons more than anything.  He has $117 million left on his current contract.  He can afford to drop anything in the garbage and buy more when he gets home!  Also, did he not think that they would check for drugs in the Miami Airport?  You can't even take bottled water through security.  It isn't like he never flies anywhere so he should have known.  Vick's crime is that he has everything in the world that money can buy, but none of the things it can't.

Don Mexico in South Beach?
May 03, 2006 | 1:50PM | report this

Don Mexico is Ron's evil twin (click for picture)

he needs to point the finger at himself! This weekend the Miami Dolphins will have Marcus vick in town for their first post draft mini camp.  They basically gave him a shot with no strings attached or promises made.  Vick went undrafted last weekend and thinks he is just as good as anyone in the top ten.
He Said in an interview with Michael Smith of ESPN.com of Vince Young "He's great. He'll throw for 300 and run for 200. He's like a taller
Michael Vick."

When asked about comparing himself to the other two top quarterbacks taken in the draft last Saturday.

Marcus Vick versus Matt Leinart: "I'm taking Marcus Vick in this case right here, because it's something about when you have an athlete at the quarterback position it just changes the game."

And Marcus Vick versus Jay Cutler: "I'm taking Marcus Vick once again."

I want to ask him if he has ever heard of Lawrence Phillips.  I actually prefer to think of him as Michael Vick's (Ron Mexico) evil twin.  They both very much look a like as well.  However they are leading very different lives once they made it as the starting quarterback for Virginia Tech.  In fact I remember reading years ago when Marcus was in high school that they were trying to get him into this college summer football camp where most of the blue chip football players go but he either had community service to do or he was in juevenal detention.  Once Marcus was suspended a full season (2004)because of other off the field legal problems.  He also received a speeding ticket and a ticket for driving on a suspended license in Hampton on Dec. 17 while under a “zero tolerance” policy from Virginia Tech.  The policy was implemented when Vick was suspended in 2004. He later came under further scrutiny because of replays of his actions against Elvis Dumervil.  Vick claimed it was accidental, but hurt his cause by claiming to have apologized to Dumervil, the NCAA sacks leader. Dumervil said he received no such apology.

Vick was booted from the team for his behavior on and off the field, he was charged with pulling a gun on three teenagers during an altercation in a
McDonald's parking lot.  So of coarse they had to draw the line somewhere.

“I’m gonna show you in the future,” he said. “The teams that don’t pick me, I’m gonna get the chance to play you, and you are going to be sitting up in the box saying, ‘Damn, we should have considered him. We should have taken him. “

I guess he doesnt realize he may never get that chance because of his past.  He only
played one full season for the Hokies and part of another in 2003.  All we have to go on is his past, and that is not good.  Playing football at any level is a priveledge not a right.  Even if you are Michael Vick's (evil twin) little brother.  Michael isn't that "great" of a quarterback at this point anyway and he has had some time to develop.

It is time for Marcus to play arena football or Canadian and show that he can stay out of trouble for more thatn his probationary period and that he actually can play football and be a leader on the field.  A quarterback is almost always the leader on the field and he has shown none of any of these qualities.  Here are his career stats.
