I have been listening to all the "experts" give their two cents about everything regarding this Super Bowl. This means that I am ready to throw prediction into the ring. I think I know who will win but the final score is really unpredictable. I have never understood how anyone could throw the score into a prediction either, especially in a Super Bowl. Sometimes the games look close and turn out to be huge blow outs. The games that look like they are going to be blow outs are the games that come right down to the last drive. You can NEVER predict penalties and turnovers either. You never know how refs will call a game, or if they are even called correctly or with balance to each team.
The Bears will win Super Bowl XLI and here is why. The Colts are favored by seven and almost everyone I have heard, read, or saw make a prediction is saying the Colts are going to win. So why does that matter? Simple, remember the college football National Championship? Everyone said that Ohio State was gonna smoke Florida and it was the exact opposite. Remember the NBA Championship between the Lakers and Pistons? Everyone said Shaq and Kobe are unstoppable and they are going to roll over Detroit, uhhhh didn't happen. You could even look at this years World Series where pretty much everyone picked the Tigers to beat the Cardinals in the World Series. No one could have predicted the three errors at the end of those two games that the Cardinals won. So this is why I am taking the Bears and of coarse the points.
The reason why the Colts will lose is the thumb. It has not been given nearly the attention that the stupid Colts plane arriving the day after the Bears coverage has received. Seriously, how could your first story from the Super Bowl be that the Colts plane was a day later than the Bears? Manning's thumb is hurt and well since he throws the ball I can't see why this is not more of an issue. Of coarse the Colts and Manning are going to downplay this injury, they don't want the Bears going after it and they want their team to be completely confident when they take the field Sunday.
So there you go, DAAAAA BEARS will win the Super Bowl because it is them against the world. They could have also won it with one miniature Ditka against the Colts as robot giants with laser beams. DAAAAA BEARS
I agree with your reasoning, altho I predicted Gators 42-21 over the Bucks, so I am on a roll. I think the score will be 50-50 and go into overtime...gonna be high scoring!
I have no preference on who I would like to win...to me, this is a MIDWEST superbowl. Most of us not living in the midwest don't care (from what I am hearing), because of the regional implications, but would love to see a great game. Good luck to the Bears.

The Bears will win this game. Peyton's thumb has nothing to do with it though. How can you say his thumb is going to be a problem when he played fine after he injured it 2 weeks ago? The real reason the Bears are going to win is Rex Grossman and their offense will not be stopped by the Colts' mediocre defense. Another reason the Bears will win is the fact that ESPN did their poll and every state but Illinois picked the Colts. That happens every poll and the team with only one state always wins. I know it sounds weird but just pay attention next time. I'm not too scared to throw a score out there.
I agree the Bears will win. I also agree that predicting score is stupid. I mean, bizzare things happen all the time that may effect the score but no the winner and loser.
The Bears I think will gut this one out because of their stellar defense. It's going to be a chess match between Manning and Urlacher. I also think the Bears occasional quick strike offense might get a few before Rex melts under the lights.
Finally, the Special Teams unit of the Bears will score at least one touchdown.
Regardless, I think this will be a good and very well played game. I also think it's going to be tight and I can't wait till game time!
Iisa the Super bowl is never about where they are from, it is where they are at, just like people in life.
I am a Lions fans so I am always looking at this game as merely a football fan. I dont care where the teams play at, just where they are playing this Sunday
I don't understand why everyone keeps saying that Rex is bound to screw up. So he had 6 games that he threw a lot of interceptions. None of those games mattered to him or the Bears. He didn't take them as seriously as he maybe should have. I think he is one of the premier quarter backs in the game and I think he is going to put up some amazing numbers against this Colts' defense that is going to be up on the line to stop the run.
Another thing I don't understand is why people think the Bears' defense is any good. Their stats are good but that is because they faced a bunch of horrible NFC teams. Ever since Mike Brown went down, good passing teams have destroyed their secondary. Peyton should have a field day marching down the field against the Bears. The only good thing the Bears do is cause a turnover or two. That's why I have the Bears winning 80 to 63.

Bob...disagree with you. I bet you this is one of the lowest rated superbowls of all time.....just a guess, of course. But I live out here on the West Coast and there is just not much interest. The markets playing are not very strong. If it were a New York Jets versus Oakland Raiders, it would be different. But it is what it is. A regional championship game. Just like when Kansas City Royals played St. Louis Cards in 1985. same thing happened.
KillFace. How can you wonder why the BEars defense is considerd good? THey lead the league in forcing turnovers. And the five games this season where the Bears had to step up their D(Jets, Giants, and Pats, played consecutively and on on the road, and the two playoff games), they came up huge. Jets were shutout. Giants were crushed. The Bears gave up 17 to NE and forced 4 or five turnovers. Against the Seahawks, they werent stellar but besides for one quarter they were real strong, not to mention stepping up in OT to force a punt on Hawks first possession. And the Saints game, well you saw what they did to the "number one offense"
Also, the reason the Bears gave up a lot of passing yards in the last few games of the season(not since Brown went out) is because either Peanut Tillman or Nate Vasher has been out, leaving Hester to play CB, and he has no idea what he is doing out there.
Your prediction goes against everything I've been hearing from "the experts" for the last week and a half. That can only mean one thing, I like it! If it's going against the so-called "experts", it's gotta be good. I'm gonna take it one step further and say that Rex Grossman wins MVP honors, the perfect end to a wacky season.
