This years NFL Rookie of the Year final five players to vote on are Devin Hester, Vince Young, Maurice Jones-Drew, Reggie Bush, and Joseph Addai. All five have spectacular years this year, especially as rookies. Hopefully the so called "sophmore jinx" doesn't get any of these guys. The finalist don't even include some of the best players in the league.
Marques Colston the Saints star WR, AJ Hawk, Santonio Holmes, Matt Leinart, Jay Cutler, and Laurence Maroney give the NFL a very bright future. There were so many impact rookies this year it was amazing. I have set up a poll on FanIQ.com so you can vote on the Rookie of the year for yourself if you are a member or you could sign up here.
Each of the four teams playing in this years Championship games has one of the above metioned players on their teams right now. This is why you can never discount the value of good drafting. Of all the rookies from this year the one I am most excited to see play next year is Vince Young. He is the guy I thought he would be, a winner. Things just happen for him when they need to and he has all the talent in the world. He is very exciting to watch and look forward to seeing how the Titans play next year.
Devin Hester should be the Rookie of the year, his impact was greater then any of the rookies this year. There where 3 or 4 games that he saved them from losing.
or even co-mvp with vince young.
Just glad it wasn't Bush-since he's been dubbed the Lebron James of the NFL.
Young i'll buy, but reggie didn't have an real impact on the saints victories. Not like Hester and vince had for there teams.
Mark my words Bush will not be a HOF caliber Running Back.
Addai doesn't have the numbers of some of the others. But where would the Colts be if he hadn't stepped up. Dominick Rhodes can't consistantly pound yards.
i'd have to give it to bush with young coming in a close second. youngs' passer rating, 66.7 hurt him in my eyes, he is a quarterback. then colston...
bush; 271 touches(88 catches), 1523 total yrds, 9tds...
young; rating 66.7, 440 touches, 2751 total yrds, 19 total tds...
colston; 70catches, 1038 yrds, 8tds...
hester; 67 touches, 5tds. all returns.
Vince Young, Reggie Bush, and Jay Cutler were my favorites.
I especially enjoyed watching Cutler. I live in Chiefs broadcast country and got a lot of Denver games consequently. It's hard for me to believe Cutler, a Vanderbilt quarterback with a win over Tennessee as his career highlite playing quarterback for Denver. That's one hell of a step up right there. He still has the most room for improvement among these three and might trump them all as the underdog that makes the big time.
