Thanks to everyone for your feedback on the FOX Blog of Fame. We have every intention to listen to your suggestions, and we can’t wait to get started.
It was our objective to make the first category of the FBOF be ‘Best Football Blog.’ But after reading through the comments we realized that most of you were already thinking big picture. It didn’t take us long to agree. What better way to start then with a ####?
With that said, we open this entry for nominations for the ‘BIG #### BLOG!’
We ask you to place nominations for the blog that has it all. Your one stop spot for total sports enlightenment. The blog that you can open any given day and know that you will never be disappointed. It will be the first blog ever inducted into the FOX Blog of Fame, the ‘Big #### Blog,’ indeed.
Rules ~ (Some of which have been changed.)
1. In order to nominate a blog for the FBOF, you must have a blog of your own. That blog must also be at least 3 months old or have at least 20 entries published. (Sorry, but this is the only way we can regulate people from voting multiple times, or voting for themselves. Also, if you operate more then one active blog, please refrain from multiple votes.)
2. Each person that meets the above criteria can nominate up to 3 separate blogs for each category. (We initially said that you would be able to nominate as many blogs as you want. We apologize, because that rule was already changed before publication. Everyone is limited to nominating 3 blogs for the ‘Big #### Blog,’ category)
3. Only blogs that are nominated in the comments of this blog entry will be counted. And the deadline to nominate blogs will be 12:00AM ET, Jan 21st. (That is Midnight on Saturday night/ Sunday morning.)
4. After the nominations have been counted, the top 5 nominated blogs will be eligible for the FBOF. The voting time period will begin the fallowing Monday morning, and continue till Friday of the same week. (Again, we had initially announced that the top ten nominated blogs would be eligible for the FBOF, but after giving it consideration, we decided that only the top 5 would make the cut. Our intentions are to make the nominations more prestigious in the process.)
How to Nominate a Blog
1. At this point we will accept any form of nomination. You can leave the name of the author, or a link to the blog that you are nominating.
Only blogs that are nominated in the comment section of this entry will count, and each person is limited to 3 nominations for the ‘Big #### Blog.’ After the nominations have been counted we will announce the top 5 blogs to be considered for the first induction to the FOX Blog of Fame. Voting will begin next week in a separate blog entry.
This is whack. What do you mean you have to have 20 blogs or more. The only people who can nominate are the people who are in the same clique that have been around forever and it's same old bunch in every stinking thing you do. Did the thought ever cross your minds that some people take down blogs and put up new ones and some people get one blog kicked out and put up new ones. You might as well just go to the "best damn sportswriter" and take the top five runnerups. I'm not saying who the clique votes in won't be worthy but your basically limiting it to letting them rule the vote. So why bother? They vote for each other and that's the roster on best sportswriter contest. I would nominate 3 of the old clique if I could but to close out everyone but a certain few is not right. Lots of bloggers simply go round and post and don't write blogs all the time. Without them you wouldn't have but 30 people posting. You need to rethink this. Besides where's the MONEY for the winners? Why bother just so you can have the equivelant of a "super blog of the day". That will look real good when they print out the page and mount it over their fireplace. Come on Fox get some reality into this. Should be 500.00 for first, 300.00 second and 100.00 each for third fourth and fifth and a trophy and a featured column for a day on whatever paid page they write on. There are a lot of god writers on this blog and if you're never going to give them anything for it and your Blog of the day is so messed up, you might as well just leave everyone alone. And don't tell me you can't control voting by isp. Let

I'm new so I don't have to much to say about the idea except for this one thing.
I agree with NBAoutlaw. I don't know about a clique or who's in it but it seems you cut out a lot of people. It would be great that a multi quadrillion dollar company could offer a monetary gift. It seems like a good thing you are doing. Some of these people are really good and what I've seen written or some occasions, could easily be columned in certain magazines.

We do have a few more applications tha we have been perusing. Also some background investigations....But eventually, anyone that wants to be in the clique gets in!!!
GEEZE when will some of you figure out that there is no "CLIQUE". It's all about being active in the blog community, making some comments, becoming familiar to the other bloggers...There is NO CLIQUE!!!

I think the rules are fair. It gives those who have been going at it longer the chance to finally be recognized. I hate these nomination things because there are a ton of good writers/ But the criteria is big #### and in terms of explosiveness here are my 3 nominees:
Smoketheblowfish
Burger21
Socalsportsfan
Im just going on which blogs jump with a 'big ####'. This is not a reflection of who the greatest writers are.
Well under various blog names and fox should be able to verify that easily enough I have posted over 70 blogs and 15 blogs of the day and I nominate
the Dan
Dudski
Flying Pig
Shooter B
Socal
Miracle
AND YES I NOMINATED TOO MANY AND THE REASON WHY IS I THINK YOU SHOULD STOP RIGHT NOW AND RETHINK THIS BECAUSE THERE ARE TOO MANY EXCELLENT WRITERS ON THIS BLOG AND SOME MAY NOT BE THOUGHT OF UNLESS THEY ARE ALL PUT UP AS GROUP IN ROUND ONE, AS IT WERE. WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IS ALLOW EACH PERSON TO NOMINATE UP TO 10 PEOPLE, LET US THINK ABOUT IT, MAYBE REREAD SOME OF THE BLOGS FROM EACH AND THEN IN ROUND TWO NARROW IT DOWN TO THREE AND THEN VOTE ON ONE. THERE IS NO WAY WITHOUT GOING BACK AND READING A MONTHS OF BLOGS I CAN NARROW THESE GUYS DOWN TO THREE AND I'M SURE I'M MISSING SOME EQUALLY TALENTED WRITERS.
I wish to retract my nomination of Flying pig on the following grounds:
He may be on drugs, i.e. pain medication due to knee surgery and in this case he may not be able to serve if elected and would just make a complete sham of the awards banquet by mumbling and drooling and even if he didn't we all recall the last awards banquet when he flew in and was drunk and landed in the punch bowl.
A source who would only speak with me on condition of anomity due to the fact he is not authorized to speak for the White house told me that pig is under investigation for flying without a lisence, pigging out at the table, swine like behavior and and porking various women throughout his lifetime.
I'm also informed the justice department is asking for hearings for him collecting union dues for a clique he denies exists

DustyOutlaw - you are absolutely correct in withdrawing my nomination into the Blog of Fame. I am IN FACT on pain meds and will remain on said pain meds until the supply is depleated. When depleated, I will return to the pharmacy and claim that my dog has eaten all of the pills and I need a refill...then I will continue to eat those pills until, once again...they are gone.
I do believe that there should be a rule that NO BLOGGER who eats narcotic pain killers should be inducted into the Blog of Fame until undergoing detox and counseling.
Whoever is running this, I wish to nominate the following:
The Dan - Always a great read, hosts a radio show, what a guy!
ShooterB - Self proclaimed president of the National Sarcasm Club (like he cares what you think about that) and a very creative writer - not to mention soon to be manager of the year for his team the Las Cruces Leezards!
Dudski - A diverse writer who covers many topics and is always worth the read
There you go - there are so many more I could have mentioned but three was the limit!
Here's an idea - Honorable mention to (in no particular order) the "Cliquemeister" in denial Flying Pig, UltraMega (you may not always - or ever - agree with what he says but it's always thought provoking), Miracle, Lisa4USC, Chuxatory, Carolyn T, Smoke, Mean Dovine, Half baked, TSI, etc...
At this point, I would like to nominate Dudski, for reasons I have repeated time after time to, I'm sure, the disgust of everyone except his mother....
I see that Dudski is getting a lot of love on here, and I have to also put in my vote for Dudski... as well as HalfBaked, who has had many entertaining postings in the past... and recently again, he has tossed out a few more gems.
Overall, there are a lot of great blogs out there... and I encourage everyone to keep up the great work!
all I can say is that a blog hall of fame is pretty pathetic when there are only 26 posts and I'm 5 of them. Man either make this all inclusive or start advertising or something. It's real hard to take the words HALL OF FAME seriously based on 21 posts.
wow, i'm impressed and swed that my name was mentioned here, i didnt think anyone was readin. ha. thanks ya'll. for my bit, i have to day Dudski. i've been a Dud-fan since i got here. not to put down the other winners, but i think Dudski should have been a NGS winner too. read this post back from july. one of my all time fav's and something i wish i had written - which is the highest level of praise i begrudgingly hand out.
i would also nominate Norcal - if he meets the at-bat requirement. he write some well thought out stuff. though his stuff reads more like news articles than blogs. i know some of ya'll dont know the difference, but i feel that there is one.

at this point, i'm torn between ShooterB and Cuzzifer. Shooter has a following already, so i'm going to stand up for the other guy: Cuzzifer. i think his blog exemplifies what a blog should be about. no pretty pictures or abundance of links. he's not writing to get a job - he just says whats on his mind. this, i feel, is what a blog is supposed to be about. you dont have to agree with Cuzo to read his words nd give pause in thought.
Norcal is quality all the way. But does he share the love enough?
That is why I stick w/ my three nominees...
See above.
About the Pacers, who I did not mention above:
O'Neal, Murphy, Granger, Dunleavy and Tinsley.
Foster, Diogu, Baston, Greene and Armstrong off the bench. And McCloud! Who did I forget? Of course! Daniels and the injured big man, Harrison! Daniels is good. He'll get PT...
This is the official FOX Blog of Fame. All blogs listed below have been inducted into the FBOF, voted by the people that make this blogging community the best on the net.
