Chicago Bears NEWS BREAK: Bear fans, you've got what you wanted, Orton to start.
Dec 10, 2007 | 5:51PM | report this

The news is in. Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings. A rivalry game on Monday night football, the Bears are playing for pride on national television.

It was announced that KYLE ORTON is to start for the Bears in this game. Bear fans have been waiting for this. I think it's a good move. I still think that REX GROSSMAN is the best QB for this team, and was improving.

However, he went out of Thrursday's game with an injury. The dilema began. GRIESE VS. ORTON. It's time for a new face on the field. Griese was more than dissapointing in a failed comeback last week, and the Bears had a chance if GROSSMAN wouldn't have gotten injured.

Kyle Orton is that new face. He led the team to the playoffs in 2005 taking over for Rex Grossman, and was a good QB with help from the "D".

The Bears are out of it, but I'm actually excited to see Orton start. Monday night in the Metrodome, which isn't as tough as it used to be. Hopefully Devin Hester can run one back, too.

"Devin Hester, you are RIDICULOUS!!!"

They might as well start Orton. The Bears really really need to figure out what their long-term answer is at QB. It isn't Griese, it probably isn't Grossman (admit it, the ups and downs of Rex have mostly been downs), and it may or may not be Orton. Might as well figure out now if the answer is one of those three, a free agent aquisition (Donovan?) or somebody in the draft, in a draft that doesn't look real deep at QBs who are anything other than long-term development longshots. Of course they also need to upgrade the running back position, and some fresh playmakers on defense...

Orton did lead them to the playoffs.....before they decided to stick Rex in the mix.

He's no Tom Brady, but he isn't Brian Greasy either

Please MN, beat the snot out of the Bears.
I want my Vikes in and want those stinky Saints out, ASAP.

A good MN team looks like it can knock off any team by playing the perfect game.
Purple fans haven't had much to cheer for since 98' and the late season swoons are expected; not this year.

GoPurple6933: They really do need to figure it out. It will be hard, though. I couldn't do it.

####egirl: Yes, he did. He was a good (ok) QB.

slshusker: I still hate MN, but I don't want the Saints in either. I still am rooting for Da Bears. GO BEARS!!!

I think this is awesome news. I definitely think that some of the players will definitely step it up since they have nothing to lose...anymore. However, with the offensive line playing the way they have...and ron turner still manning the offensive coordinator position....its going to be a toss up.
