A Ring Without Stars (share your views!)

All NBA junkies think they know the formula for success. But do we really?

Okay, here is a test for everybody!

It's easy to build a champion if you get the best players, what if you don't? What if you don't get any stars? Can you still find success?

So list a 9-man rotation that you think would have a good chance to hold the trophy.

It's your fantasy, so you can have any player you want, except you CANNOT choose anyone who:

1) has already won a championship
2) makes max salary or close to it
3) has won MVP or the Defensive POY
4) has been to more than one all-star game
5) has won scoring, rebound, or assist title
6) has his own shoes
7) plays for TEAM USA (anyone of the 24 chosen)
8) has only been in the league less than 3 years

Okay, here is my team

Starters:
PG: Mike Bibby
SG: Cuttino Mobley
SF: Josh Howard
PF: Boris Diaw
C: Samuel Dalembert

Bench:
G: Ben Gordon
G: Desmond Mason
F: David West
F: Drew Gooden

Okay, you turn!

KO IS DONE!

Interesting food for thought...here's my team:

PG: Bibby...has to be.
SG: Gerald Wallace
SF: Josh Howard...another good call
PF: Boris Diaw...my undersized PF
C: Nenad Krstic
Bench: Damon Stoudamire, Gordon, Troy Murphy, Joel Pryzbilla

What do you think?

Good pick with Gerald Wallace, but I stick with Cuttino Mobley, who can just flat out play, plus he is a better shooter.

I might go with G Wallace instead of Desmond Mason on the bench, very similar players. Wallace is probably better overall.

Ben Gordon should be out because he has only played 2 years, so instead I change to Sam Cassell, who brings leadership, veteran experience, and clutch shooting late in the games.

Damon Stoudamire makes too much money, he can't be considered. And I don't know if I want both Troy and Joel Pryzbilla, kind of similar.

I still think Dalembert is better for this team than Krstic, because we already have Diaw for offense, I really need a big man who can block shots and dominate rebounds.

Here is my new list:

PG: Bibby
SG: Mobley
SF: Josh Howard
PF: Boris Diaw
C: Dalembert
Bench: Cassell, G Wallace, David West, Joel Pryzbilla

bbing, Cassell has two rings from his time with the Rockets.

This was touhg. I wanted Amare, but he has a shoe, and I wanted Tayshaun Prince, but's got the ring.

PG: Brevin Knight
SG: Gerald Wallace
SF: Josh Howard
PF: Andrei Kirilenko (only one all-star appearance)
C: Chris Kaman

Bench

Morris Peterson
Maurice Williams
David West
Samuel Dalembert

Sorry I'm late. Wow, with so many restrictions this is pretty much the best I could do:

PG: Shaun Livingston (LAC)
SG: Andre Iguodala (PHI)
SF: Andrei Kirilenko (UTA)
PF: Emeka Okafor (CHA)
Ce: Andrew Bynum (LAL)

Bench: Chris Kaman (LAC) (does his salary qualify?), Luke Walton (LAL), Kevin Martin (SAC), Mike Miller (MEM)

ABOUT ME

Since Ricko and many others cannot handle my educational background, let's just pretend that I am a high school drop-out, who can barely do simple mathematics and can't read and write very well. I do however work at Stanford (they suck at any sports that matter). Mainly a basketball and football guy (NBA rules and Coach K sucks!). Okay with baseball, hockey, tennis, and golf. Soccer is for short guys who can't jump. Love hot Asian girls (don't know why?)
Time stamping is done in Pacific Time.
