As I have not posted in nearly a month, I decided to get back into the swing of things with a simple, easy, yet debateable post.  As the hours of my life are consumed with school, homework and work, I have finally found a free evening to post.

Good list, but I would have to add Brian Urlacher and Tommie Harris for sure. Harris is the most dominant DL in the game right now and it is hard not to have the reigning Defensive Player of the year on the list. Rackers may be one of the best kickers, but I would have to replace hime with one of the Bears listed above. Sam holds for T.J., as he isn't even the best receiver on the Bengals.

Great job overall. You can talk NFL with me any time.

And, how exactly did you come to this conclusion? Quick, no cheating. I want some stats.

Welcome back.

I think it's hard to compare defensive & offensive players. Also, how do you compare a RB to a QB? Tough...

Also hard to say "the best". Could mean the best overall...or who has played the best so far this season.

And of course, it's a debatable topic. So I'll give my 2 cents.

(To this point in the season)
On defense, I think you could make the case for several Chicago Bears players. But I'd say Tommie Harris deserves to be mentioned. Also, Darren Howard of Philly has stepped it up big time...especially considering the loss of Kearse.

On offense, McNabb easily. Not only his numbers, but he has spread the ball around...and his number one receiver (Stallworth) has missed some time. Still has the best numbers in the league so far. Peyton Manning has been important...especially because he has won some close games already. Not bad for a "choke artist".

If kickers counted like they do in Fantasy Football, Robbie Gould would be #1. Gotta agree on McNabb. Going with Harris, Urlacher, Briggs, Berrian, Dez Clark. Cardinal receivers are very good, but haven't done anything this year (not their fault). Manning looks human without James, and Merriman is a freak.

Dude How much crack are you smoking. because I think you need help.
First of all Why is there a Kicker on the list?
Second Where is McNabb?
And if you are going to put a Linebacker on there
Where is Urlacher? And you have 2 wide outs from the same team? come on! there are about 5 other WR that have good numbers on bad teams. Johnson from Houston, or Colston from NO.

detroitsports, a good list. I may have dropped the ball with leaving Steve Smith off the list. I just think he gets the ball too much as the only good receiver on his team. As for everyone who commented on Rackers, kicking can be a hard job, and I tried to spread around to most positions.

Bearsview, thanks appreciate it.

MeanD, yeah sorry about the quick and crappy post lol, as I said I'm juggling school and a job. I just wanted to put something out there for debate.

Shooter, I agree with you 100%, it is tough, and there are so many good players it's hard to name the best 10. I tried to spread around the positions, so most the positions were represented by one of their premier players. As it is common for most ppl to think of the QB,RB as the stars, sometimes its the cornerbacks or the guards who play the biggest role.

ThePhoenix, yes McNabb has been very good. I think he was greatly helped by Westbrook. Once again hard to fit all the great players into a top ten list. Thanks for reading.

mcsrr8, its hard to get good crack up here in Canada. As for Urlacher, he is amazing, but fading. I think if any LB deserved to make this list its Merriman, a freak of nature.

ricko, thanks. Good to be back. Polomalu, Urlacher: crazy good. I still like Ed Reed and Shawn Merriman better. Joe Horn? Meh, if you say so.

Louisiana, good players. However, as I was saying to Shooter, sometimes the best players are the less spoken about ones: the O-Line or the defense. Almost all of your players are offense, and while they may be electrifying and headline-g

I understand that you are trying to compare players by overall talant, but I do agree that you cannot compare offensive and deffensive players to each other. I do want to know one thing. Why was Chad Johnson and Marvin Harrison not on the list? I think that if you ask anyone who knows what their talking about, most would agree that if there is a receiver that has a chance of being compaired to Jerry Rice in the near future, Its Chad Johnson. But for right now, the best is Harrison.
