Giants-Mets
May 30, 2007 | 4:52AM | report this

Last night I set down in front of my TV to watch the Giants-Mets.  was it to watch barry Bonds in pursuit of hank aaron's record, no it was to watch 22 year old pitching phenom Tim Lincecum.  Living in Ohio and being a Reds fan i don't often get to see good youn pitchers.  true, the Giants do get national exposure because of bonds but Lincecum only pitches once every 5 games and so it is hard to get the chance to see him.  i had read glowing reports of him on the internet and last night I wanted to see if they hype was true.

As the game played out a few things caught my eye.  Lincecum looks like the real deal, Jose Reyes is super fast, and Erin Andrews is extremely pretty.  Lincecum got a no decision.  He pitched 7 strong innings giving up 3 runs.  take out the hoerun by Delgado and he pitched wonderfully.  While I am not ready to send himto Cooperstown just yet, I can see that he looks like the real deal.  as Bonds closes in on Aaron's record i look forward to getting more chances to watch him pitch.

the second most impressive thing in the game was watching Jse Reyes score from first on a double.   he can fly.  Did I mention Erin Andrews is extremely pretty.

Great blog. I watched a few innings of the game myself and was really struck by Lincecum composure and his command of the pitches. He seemed to be able to move the ball anywhere that he wanted. But he also showed some rookies nervousness last night as well. He seemed to really get flustered when Delgado suddenly stepped out of the batter's box when he was ready to throw a pitch. On the next pitch, he walked Delgado and that lead to a tough inning for him. But he is young and definitely will learn how to handle that situation better.

lincecum held his own, a national televised game against the mets and he strikes out 8 while only giving up 3 hits.... not bad at all. but what about benitez? haha its always good to see him self destruct

Too many times hasn't it been the case though? Because of a "bigger story", a team gets all this exposure, and in lookining at the decoy, they miss the "true" story. Well the nations loss, it's true MLB fans that see the real drama unfolding.
