Ok Jazz fans, we have officially reached a point that we need to fix
things. We are being termed the lowest of the low. Now, I don't like
fisher, and honestly I think he probably wasn't entirely truthful in
leaving Utah, but don't start attacking his daughter. That is low.
And I really hope that the majority of us Jazz fans are against that.
Cheer, yes, get inside their heads, yes, but personally attack them,
no. Heck, I come from Logan, where we are downright cruel at times,
and even though I am wondering about that, tonight was just too much.
Time to institute the WAC's policy on cheers on Jazz fans. Show some
class while being loud. Trust me, its possible.
As for the team, some consistency would be nice. We have enough
talent, great coaching, and superb depth that we could win every year,
but we seem to blow it every time. Lets get with it.
Show some class (unlike some Laker fans currently in their attacks back at
us). Lets be the loudest in the NBA but not the dumbest, most
classless, or cruelest.
First of all had you bothered to read my blog I congratulated the Jazz team, Jerry Sloan and the Jazz fans so I don't appreciate you claiming "like the Laker fans".
Second of all when has the Laker fans taunted a Jazz player as was done to Fisher about his daughter or thrown things as your fans did? I don't recall that. If it was done I'd like to know when?
Finally, when you say "Laker fans" you make it sound like all Laker fans. Perhaps you meand "some Laker fans"???

I agree that the attack was low class, and probably did put most Jazz fans into the lump that they all are low class. Hopefully, this #### who made the attack gets the ridicule he deserves, and is never allowed to be in a sports arena again. And congrats to the Lakers.
There are only some Jazz fans that I don't like, the ones that chant "cancer", cover an eye and boo D-Fish, throw things onto the court and at the away teams bench when they are going to lose, and boo D-Fish just because he left to get better treatment for his daughter which gave the Jazz cap room. Why would the Jazz fans do means things to Tatum, she could have died because of the cancer if you didn't already know.
That was a good, hard-fought series. One thing the Jazz don't lack is heart. If they had made that final 3, who knows what the result would have been? I'm glad we didn't find that out! I do think they need someone that can add instant offense off the bench, since they are built to be a tough, physical team. Unlike the demolition job in the PHX, the Jazz are built for long-term success. If they can keep their core group of players together for the next several years and add a scorer or two, watch out.
As for the fans, while I think the majority of Jazz fans are good fans, some of the idiots gave ALL Jazz fans a bad name. And that's too bad.
good blog , and I'll try to be respectful because you sound like a respectful person, just one issue.
"show some class (unlike some lakers fans)?" I have gone out of my way to express that we should not generalize. But as someone who has always liked D-Fish (even watched him on the warriors and jazz) I can understand some Lakers fans or anyone else for that matter compleatly lose it after watching some of the class of some of those jazz fans. I applaud you for saying "hey guys straiten up". but I don't hear fog horns at staples center and since 1972 never saw Lakers fans throw trash at an opposing bench. if I were a jazz fan I would be embarresed to no end. not to say the average jazz fan is like that though. but the arena might be wise to try to curb that sort of behavor or Utah will always be looked at like it is right now. it's sad but the fine folks of salt lake have now taken philly's place as the "Percieved" lowest class arena. that is sad because I have had a chance to talk to some fans and the jazz have a lot of good bball fans. and my humble appoligies for any Lakers fans that stoop to personal or religious attacks. but please don't single Lakers fans out on this one. the talk is all over the NBA right now. those ( few more then a few) bad fans painted a pretty bad picture of Utah to the rest of the league. it's a shame too because the Jazz are a top rate Class act org. and They do not deserve any of this. good luck to them next year. there TEAM is worthy of praise :)
Peace, I'm out
Very classy of you to post this. Congrats to the Jazz and it's classy fans for a fine season. I hope someday befor Sloan retires he can get him a championship, God knows he deserves it. Great coach and a very good team. Has been for years and will be as long as Sloan is running the show there.
Jazz played a great series. And not all Jazz fans are morons. Just the select few who chanted all the #### and threw stuff at the Lakers bench. Thats no class. Disrespectful. Again a great series and the Jazz will be back next season.
This post was all class. Props to the select Jazz faithful who are loyal to their team and come to the games to watch and cheer good quality basketball.
Now for the drunkards who threw stuff at the Lakers bench - take a hike! You're goin' fishin!!
Nice job. I was disgusted at the antics of the fans. If it were just one or two, it wouldn't bother me, but almost the entire arena chanting "referees suck", FOR NO REASON, goes beyond reason. It was a mob mentality. Congrats for showing class. :)

"and my humble appoligies for any Lakers fans that stoop to personal or religious attacks. but please don't single Lakers fans out on this one."
Thats ok, those guys are just band wagon fans anyway, they aren't real fans!
true my fellow 'Aggie from Utah' but the WAC policy is unfair in that it specifically targets USU, it would be very hard to enforce (and make consistent with referees, we know they have trouble already with fouls and traveling) in the NBA.
I don't understand why anyone would boo Fisher, he was just doing what he thought was best for his daughter, he even considered retirement. but when Kobe started whining like an All-Star, the Lakers saw the opportunity to sign Fish. He didn't purposefully leave to go to La la land.
I agree though, be loud and loyal, but don't be verbally abusive. We don't want another Ron Artest vs the fans.

Unfortunately USU wasn't the target of that decision. NMSU was more than we were. The "You Suck" chant was just thought by ONE ref to fall under a possible penalty situation. NMSU was a little more extreme, so actually they were more under fire with that than we were.
