1. Leonard Davis to Dallas – This is the worst move of the offseason thus far. Signing the underachieving and underwhelming tackle to a 7-year, $49.6 million deal, with $18.75 million in guaranteed money, is beyond comprehension. Honestly – did he do anything in Arizona? And when new coaches, offensive line guru Russ Grimm and head coach Ken Whisenhunt, study the film and don't make you an offer to stay in Arizona, where they are desperate to talent upgrades on the line, well, that tells you everything about everything.
2. Ashley Lelie to San Francisco – Go ask a Bronco player or coach about Lelie off the record. Or a Falcon. The expression 'tissue paper soft' might be used.
3. Drew Bennett to St. Louis – $4.5 million a year for a No. 3 receiver with a chronic case of the yips? I thought the money could be better spent by the Rams.
4. Dennis Northcutt to Jacksonville – I was looking for something a bit more special at the receiver position from the Jaguars. Northcutt, who was an up and down Brown, won't stand out in that receiver core and help Byron Leftwich.
5. Ovie Mughelli to Atlanta – Did the Falcons really pay all that money for a fullback??
Leonard Davis will become a dominate lineman with the Cowboys. Who does well playing for Arizona? The Cardinals only let him go because it would cost them $9 million to franchise him. Ask Matt Leinart if he wanted to see Davis leave.
Huh, No team from the North East made this list, but 4 of the 5 "under the radar guy" were from Buffalo, New England, and Cleveland. This is B.S. Homer
Adam - I'm not sure of whether or not the signing of Leonard Davis was an indication of him being not good enough. I think it's more of the Cards could not afford to pay him what he wants.
Davis played for the Cards for 7 yrs! That tells you the coaches thought he was good enough to keep and play him at the price they were paying him then. It's not like it was only last year that the O-Line was awful, they've been awful for quite sometime. I mean, look at the players on the offense for the Cards now. Edge, Boldin, Leinart, Fitzgerald, paying this crew alone will make some sleepless nights for an owner that can't really compete with Jones in Dallas, or Snyder in Washington or Kraft in NE. You get the idea, the other half of the equation in the NFL could not be solved by the Cards. MONEY.

Is this sSchein guy clueless?
Leonard Davis was the Best free agent available after Adalius thomas and Nate Clements.
and Drew Bennett ireplacing and old injury prone Issac Bruce is an upgrade
There's a reason Schein is on Satelitte Radio instead of any real sports broadcast.
He knows nothing about the NFL.. Must be Sean Salisbury's long lost cousin
as a buc fan--i hope plummer retires, because he is nothin' but tired. given a chance in denver to prove one thing and with that team around him, (he gets picked how many times by pitt?--then this year start out with the best record to fold to a below average team by the end of the season--even arizona played better down the stretch. please jake take up golf.

Are you serious?! I love Ike Bruce, but he's not getting any younger. Sounds like the Rams are solid at receiver for the next six years. You are an ####.
I believe with leonard davis flozell adams, resigning marc columbo the offensive line will be much better than the past few years, I agree that the cardinals whole offensive line was poor leonard now has some help, if nothing else his size will fin off defenders
Lelei to San Fran was a no brainer once you take a look at the contract. He got less money than Bennett and a 2 yr deal. This is a very safe contract for the 49ers. Plus this will be the first time we will see him out of the WC Offense. We will see!
Nobody plays well for the sorry Cardinals and my hats off once again to Jerry Jones for this signing. It will surely solidify the O-Line and those holes will be wide open for Julius Jones and Marion Barber plus the qb should be upright too.
Leonard Davis could be an Erik Williams for the Cowboys.....and even if he does'nt work out tackle, move him to guard and you got the next Nate Newton/Larry Allen kind of guard.
The whole line stunk for AZ so not like they had an option to replace Davis. And they spent all their high draft picks on skill positions like WR and QB. When you pay a guy that much money, you play him, and hope he develops. Davis weighs 360 pounds and no one, even the guys on the "glitzy" sports radio shows ever mention him being dominant. So, satellite radio aside, I think Dallas paid way too much for him. A lot of folks are saying they overpaid for Garode too. Dallas needs more help than just the O line...it's money not well spent.
The Lelie deal may seem underwhelming, but not when you consider the money they paid him, which was quite minimal. I am sure Nolan and Co. are not looking to him as a #1 WR, they are looking at him as someone with speed who can strech the field on post-routes and so forth. It's too bad Antonio Bryant couldn't keep it together, as he had a chance to really develop and achieve there.
Cowboys are finished. They aint making playoffs for the next 5 seasons. I don't know where they get all this money to sign all these big name players every year. And at the end of the season prove NOTHING. Now there intrested in Porter?? There going to sign him and not ever make playoffs. I hate the cowgirls with a passion!
Leonard Davis is a mammouth O-Lineman...........until he false starts, gets blown by when the other teams speed rusher is on him, or when just looks plain lost on plays. He would be better off at guard and not tackle. Nate Clements is IMHO the worst signing. How is he making more money then Champ Bailey? I understand that the SF secondary was bad but wow.
I think Big Leonard Davis played like the franchise he belonged too. He played unmotivated football for a team that has a history of a revolving door in the coach's office. Don't pass judgement too soon on this signing.
No kidding on Lelie, but the 49ers had a need and didn't break the bank to sign him. For $4.3 million (by NFL standards), the 49ers can take a chance on him, plus more help will be on the way with the draft.
Rwhite I feel the same way theres no way Arizona was going to tag him. Dallas made a smart move. Columbo is going to hang it up I think it's the best thing Big D could have done.
Leonard Davis to the Cowboys is one of the best moves of free agency!!! Arizona has never been better than mediocore, and never will be!!! Davis will now have many pro bowl seasons with the Cowboys! While the under achieving Cardinals will continue to have no impact in the NFL's win column. Just like your lame opinions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hook'em Horns' & go Cowboys!
isaac bruce is still as good as many recievers in the leauge the rams got bennett because the need to replace curtis and mcdonald plus they really need a big reciever maybe to much money but who else was out their good move i think
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Why in the world did the Niners sign Lelie??? I'm sure Joe Horn would of been a better fit and a great leader for the young recieving corp... When I thought Nolan was on a roll he had to mess it up.
What was Jacksonville thinking? Ok Northcutt has speed but he doesn't have size, hands, or the ability to jump. How much of a deep threat can he possibly be?
Come on man. Do your freakin' research. Leonard Davis will be playing on the right side and likely as an interior lineman rather than on the outside. He won't be facing the strong pass rush like he was in Arizona. That duty lies on Flozell Adams or (if they can resign him) Marc Colombo. Davis will have a much easier go of it and will be a great improvement over Marco Rivera. Worth $18.75 million in guarenteed and 49.6 total? Probably not. But the worst deal thus far? DEFINITELY not.
I don't doubt Davis will be a better player in Dallas than 'Zona, but 49 mill????? That's Steve Hutchenson money... Way over paid... hopefully he works out though.
The Davis signing is risky, but likely will be worth it. He was a pro bowl alternate as a Cardinal. That's saying something. What's beyond comprehension is the Dockery deal in Buffalo. Dockery has done zippy. I don't want to hear all that small market B.S. from Ralph Wilson. They set the market this year.
You all obviously aren't AZ fans or you'd know how bad the Cowboy's move to sign Davis was. Yeah he's huge and all but that don't mean ####. He's cost us games before because of his false starts (i.e vs. St. Louis in '05 where his FS ran out the final ten seconds when we were on their 2 yrd line) and his missed block got Leinart knocked out for the final two games last year. You'll see 'Boys fans, you'll get what you deserve for signing him. He's way overrated and I'm glad the Cowgirls got stuck with him so everyone will see how underachieving he really is.

Who is this Adam Schein guy and how are Ashley Lelie and Leonard Davis bad signings? First off there is almost no risk in the Lelie signing because the niners signed him so cheap, and Leonard Davis is good player (he was a pro bowl alternate a few years ago), Davis isn't great and probably not worth what the Cowboys are paying him but everyone is getting too much money nowadays and Davis is a good player that fills a need for the Cowboys. Lelie fills a need for the Niners and gives them depth at the WR position. This Schein guy is an ####.
Based solely on what Davis showed in Arizona, he is going to be a little overpaid in his new deal. However, it's entirely possible that he could step up and become more dominating and consistent. As long as the Cowboys hire a hypnotist to convince Davis that each of the next seven years is a "contract year." Good luck.
If you have never seen a Cards game, Davis' best move is to simply stand up and get in the way. His problem is not physical, but rather a lack of desire to play, and that signing bonus seals their fate. He is a MAJOR bust and everyone here in Phoenix knows it. As for Lelie, Denver NEEDED youth at the position, and still went for someone else coming off a major knee injury.
Schein also says the London Fletcher signing was a good one because he records 100 tackles every year. Talk to any Bills fan and they will tell you Fletcher is great at racking up tackles but most of the tackles are after the RB already gains 6 or 7 yards.
Give LD a break he now has the opportunity to play for a winner in Big "D". At first I also questioned this move but let's consider the support he had in Arizona. Even if you don't like the Dallas Cowboys (KC fan) we have more Super Bowls Wins and will WIN another one.
Signing Davis is the worst move? So, it cost them mega change to do it. Big deal! Davis is huge. Can you blame him for being unmotivated at AZ? He didn't want to go there to begin with. I remember this guy playing for the Horns. He was great. My money (or Jerry's) says he wil be a pro-bowler for the Boys and will be motivated to play for a Superbowl contender.
Why isn't the Texan's acquisition of Ahman Green on this list? What role did Mike Sherman have in getting the Texans to pony up that kind of money for a running back (Ahman Green) who had a career threatening injury, fumblitis (seemingly incurable) and domestic problems while in Green Bay (maybe he can teach the younger guys how to intimidate their wives and then get a divorce)? I guess Adam must have missed the domestic problems in Ahman's tenure as a Packer? The last time I looked, it was Sherman while GM in Green Bay who made the terrible roster moves which eventually ended in a 4-12 record in 2005 and who was subsequently fired! Sherman seems bent on destroying Houston as well. Why is the Texan brass listening to him anyway? BTW, what was Houston's record last year and what was the Packers record with Sherman gone? Ahman Green is not worth 5 mil per year and he is another one who claimed he loved where he was playing (in Green's case Green Bay) but in the end it was "show me the money." I say adios Ahman and thank you Ted Thompson for not spending like a "drunken sailor."

Leonard Davis getting that amount of money just because he has the potential to do better. I hope the Dallas coaches can motivate him but if you have been in the league for 7 years and have not been motivated why now except for getting out of Arizona.
Lelie another with potential but does not produce. Not dependable.
Bennett big reciever who can come in and motivate the team in the club house also, even though overpaid.
Northcutt shows glimpses of potential but not dependable could have been with the QB trouble with the Browns.
Mughelli is a blocker maybe that means Petrino will run more than pass.
Green and Gold I agree. While he did have some great years in GB he is definitely not worth the money he got from the Texans. What do you think about the Rodgers for Moss rumor?
how can acquiring a 6'6' 360lb O-lineman with 7 yrs expierence(7 years actually playing) be a bad move? Sure he wasnt the best in AZ but now he has something to play for..a super bowl bid. Not to mention he was the 2nd overall pick when drafted. In AZ there was no chance they could contend with Dallas, New Orleans, Seattle, or even the New York Giants in the playoffs. But since he is with Dallas he will adapt to his surroundings and pancake anyone in his way. And the Cowboys also signing backup Brad Johnson wasnt a horrible decision either. So next time you make your list Mr. Adam Schein, think about Denver just letting go of Tatum Bell.
