Turner Sports today will unveil RaceBuddy, an interactive element that will enhance viewing and assist fans during its six-week "Nascar on TNT" coverage.
RaceBuddy, which can be activated at http://www.nascar.com/promos/tnt/, is a free service that will enable visitors to choose from among five live camera angles, interact with other visitors and send questions to TNT's on-air personnel during races.

RaceBuddy's highlight is an option that enables viewers to watch races online from one of four distinct views:
Battle Cam (on-track action),
Pit Cam,
In-Car Cam (viewers can select from among several drivers)
and Race Robo (action viewed from remote locations).
Visitors can also select Mosaic, which puts all four camera options on-screen at one time.
This sounds like a grand idea.

Yea, I spotted this yesterday and tried to find out what it is.
Fingers crossed it's available internationally, like the streams of the Nationwide races, which isn't normally that slow (of course internet traffic for that and a Cup race may be very different).
Is he six feet with six-pack abs and a fat wallet?? Does he come over and clean your house during the race?? Nekkid????? No??? D_A_M_N!! I'll probably pass on the race buddy too then..lol. I hope it does work though for people. I agree Mum, it could end up just being a case of frustration.
Digger must be ticked. Sounds like an interesting idea but is it me, or is NASCAR getting a little too gimmicky? I would love to hear your opinion, Yee. I want to see some good racin'...not sure if I want to be distracted by Buddy. Unless he pours cold beers.
Lisa~ The way I read it "Buddy" is just the front man for the on-line service.
If they run the service through the whole race (even commercials) I could see where it would be great for some.
If I see that weird mug on my TV I may have a problem.

It is a nice service. But it is slow and very frustrating. I have used it a couple of times. But for the most part I just use the same old reliable things the TV and the live leader board on NASCAR.com
