CL Predictions
Mar 14, 2008 | 2:19PM | report this

This is 3 weeks before the quater 1st leg occurs and as Liverpool showed in the round of 16, form of a couple weeks ago has no impact on the macth.

Chelsea v Fenerbahce

Lucky, lucky, Chelsea, they got 1 of the 2 most favorable draws as did Barca this and last round. Fenerbahce shouldn't be underestimated at home with English teams not having a good record on Turkish territory but Chelsea once won 5-0 away to Galatasary. Fenerbahce has pulled its fair share of shocks and could likely do so again. Chelsea's form over the last couple weeks has gone from new heights to new lows. They won against West Ham (4-0) Olympiakos (3-0) and Derby (6-1) while playing attractive footie. They also habe had a lot of shockers vs teams they should beat on paper, they lost a cup final to Tottenham 2-1 and Barnsley 1-0. Which Chelsea team will appear vs the Turkish champs and will Grant do anything to mess the line-up.

Ataturk (Think thats the stadium)

Fener  2-1 Chelsea

Stanford Bridge

Chelsea 3-0

Arsenal v Liverpool

Both teams beat the odds against Milan and Inter, respectivly, and this should be a match for the ages. Cecs-Ade and Gerrard-Torres partnership is the main reason these teams are pushing for honours this year. The main problem I see with this match is the schedule. Within the space of 10 days Arsenal face Liverpool twice at the Emirates, once at Anfield and face Manchester at OT. Playing high profile game after high profile game is going to drain alot of the young gunners. At the end of the 10 days the gunners are going to be knocked out of the Cl or give their title hopes a major doubt. If they do come out these 10 days of hell with a semi spot and 6 points then they will prove to everyone their determination and should never be counted out. Liverpool might also have a major hit on their chase for fourth as in a 10 day period they have a Mersyside derby with Everton, have 2 consecutive trips to the Emirates and a return to Anfield to face Arsenal.

Emirates

Arsenal 2-0 Liverpool

Anfield

Liverpool 2-1 Arsenal

Manchester v Roma

This tie will mark the 5th and 6th time these two giants of the current game meet in a 1 year period. The results were 2-1 Roma, 1-1, 7-1 Manchester and 1-0 Manchester. Other than the blowout 7-1 game, these two teams average 2 goals a game. Manchester might overlook Roma and get knocked but at the same time they might concentrate on not letting Roma get revenge, which mindset will Manchester come with? Totti will be looking to get some serious revenge after he said he can't stand the English lifestyle, football and people before the OT game and then not showing up for the game. Will he show some of the great form he showed against Madrid and will Spalleti try a 4-4-2 with Totti and Vucinic.

Stadio Olimpico

Roma 2-0 Manchester

OT

Manchester 4-1 Roma

Barcelona v Schalke

Barca will have surely missed Messi if they were facing a team like Manchester, Arsenal or Liverpool but must be estatic now that for the second straight time they drew a favorable opposition, maybe some of Chelsea's luck has rubbed off on them as well as their unattractive footie as they havn't been the talk of La Liga lately and Seville and Atletico are pushing them for the title of being the most attractive team in Spain. Schalke have overachieved this year and will just have a go at Barca since they have nothing to loose, nobody is expecting them to get past Barca or even to have gotten this far. This doesn't mean Barca should overlook them, Schalke is full of stars such as Rakitic, Kuryani and others, if Barca don't take this serious they can quickly see their chances of lifting the Cl twice in 3 years fade.

Veltins Arena

Schalke 0-0 Barca

Camp Nou

Barca 3-1 Schalke

CL DRAW PREDICTIONS
Mar 05, 2008 | 3:30PM | report this

THIS ARE JUST PREDICTIONS, I WILL MAKE ANOTHER BOLG WHEN THE DRAW OCCURS AND GIVE MY THOUGHTS

CHELSEA v BARCA

A rematch of these two titans in the modern game with the score being 1-1 and chelsea getting the better of them in the group stage last year.  Barca will be without Messi, but they are still stacked with players like Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Henry and Deco who can score with the slighest sight of goal. Chelsea seem to be play better football as of late (4-0 over West Ham, 3-0 over Olympiakos). Alot of the positives for Chelsea have been because of Lampard and Ballack finally being able to play together. Only time will tell if this midfield partnership will work. I'm predict Chelsea to get the better of Barca by a slim margin in another classic between this two teams.

Nou Camp

Barca 2-1 Chelsea

Stanford Bridge

Chelsea 2-0 Barca

ARSENAL v ROMA

Arguably play the best football is their respectice leagues. Totti has been an absolute monster for Roma his entire carear and spreading it across the new generation of youth. Arsenal unlike Roma don't have a senior figure to learn from, but hopefully Titi taught them a free tricks before he left.

Stadio Olimpico

Roma 1-1 Arsenal

Emirates Stadium

Arsenal 3-2 Roma

LIVERPOOL v MANCHESTER UNITED

Ever since Rafa began to manage, he has never beaten SAF and i don't think he has even scored a goal. Those stats might be pointing towards Mancester but Rafa is a master of knockout football and might finally get one over Manchester.

Old Tranford

Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool

Anfield

Liverpool 1-1 Manchester

INTER v MANCHESTER UNITED

Both teams won their league last year with fluent attacking football. This match should be a classic should Inter overcome their 2-0 deficit to Liverpool. Both teams have one of the top three players in the world and they are accused of missing in games like this. Will Ronaldo or Ibrahimovic show up, whoever has the biggest impact is probably going to win POY Award.

San Siro

Inter 2-1 Manchester

Old Tranford

Manchester 1-1 Inter

FENERBAHCE v SCHALKE

The two wild cards to win the champions league, with one of them making a suprise appearance in the semi-finals. I haven't overlooked Fenerbahce this entire tournement as Turkish teams are always tough at home and are capeable of getting that important away goal. I going to predict this game to go to a shootout and we will see which team is better at pk's after advancing through to the quarters from shootouts.

 Dont know Fenerbahce's stadium name

Fenerbahce 2-1 Schalke

Veltins Arena

Schale 2-1 Fenerbahce

PK SHOOTOUT

Schalke 3-1 Fenerbahce

Why? Cause Germans always win in penalties.
