Magic, Jordan, Kobe, Wilt, and Kareem would probably make up the all-time NBA team, but what lineup of other players would have the best chance of stopping them from scoring at will. The smartest choice would to get all the best defenders in NBA history. Among those would be Bruce Bowen, Shane Battier, Larry Bird, Dikembe Mutombo, Hakeem Olajuwon, Jason Kidd, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Marcus Camby, Gary Payton, Ron Artest, Tayshaun Prince, Ben Wallace, and more. Since Magic Johnson is 6-9 that would create matchup problems so it would be hard to have Jason Kidd or Gary Payton on the team.
Jordan:
The person to defend Jordan has to be quick, strong, and mentally strong. Ron Artest, Dennis Rodman, Bruce Bowen, and Larry Bird are the best suited to defend MJ. I think that Dennis Rodman would be the best choice because he is 3 inches taller than Jordan, he is strong, and he knows how Jordan plays since he was on his team.
Defender: Dennis Rodman
Kobe:
Kobe is just like MJ with better range. Larry Bird, Bruce Bowen, and Shane Battier are all good Kobe defenders. We have seen Bowen and Battier defend Kobe, but Bird was long retired by the time Kobe was playing. Kobe scored 45 on Battier in the season opener, but that doesn't mean he can't guard Kobe. I just think that Bowen is the only person in the league right now that makes it harder for Kobe without the help of his teammates.
Defender: Bruce Bowen
Magic:
Magic isn't much of a scorer, but he would be able to set Jordan, Kobe, Wilt, and Kareem for easy baskets. The person to guard Magic would need to be long and tall so that he wouldn't have as easy of passing opportunies. Larry Bird and Tayshaun Prince are best suited for that job, but Tayshaun is longer, taller, and more of a defensive player.
Defender: Tayshaun Prince
Wilt:
Wilt is the most dominant scorer in NBA history. He is the only person to average 50 points per game for an entire season and he is the only person in NBA history so score 100 points in a game. The person to defend Wilt needs to be strong and tall. Ben Wallace and Hakeem Olajuwon are the best choices. Ben Wallace is stronger, but Hakeen is taller. Even though Wilt has a 3 inch advantage, I would have Ben Wallace guard him.
Defender: Ben Wallace
Kareem:
Kareem wasn't the strongest person, but he was really tall and really long. He also had the unblockable hook shot. No one in the world could block his hook shot, except for maybe Manute Bol if he timed it right. The best defenders for him have to be tall and good shot blockers or disrupters. The top choices are Dikembe Mutombo and Manute Bol. Mutombo is 3 inches shorter than Kareem, while Manute is 4 inches taller than Kareem. I think that just his size alone would make it hard for Kareem, so I would put Manute Bol on Kareem.
Defender: Manute Bol
If these two lineups faced each other in a game then the final score would probably be somewhere around 125-65 at the end since the defenders wouldn't have a good enough offense to win. Even though the All NBA team would probably score around 125, that is a lot less than they would score if a bunch of average defenders guarded them.
I saw that sign on TV last night when I was watching the game. I don't think that Paul Pierce should have been the Finals MVP. Pierce had the first 9 season's of his career with his own team, and they did nothing except for the conference finals 1 time when he had another all-star on the team. He was the leader of a team that had the same talent as last year's Lakers team, but they only won 24 games in the L'eastern Conference (worst record in NBA) and the Lakers won 42 games and made the playoffs in the Western Conference. Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen are the reason the Celtics team this year was good. Kevin Garnett should have been Finals MVP without a doubt. Paul Pierce might have been the leaging scorer and captain, but KG was the defensive anchor (defense won them the championship) and emotional leader. I hate the Celtics more than any other sports-related thing. Paul Pierce I hate the most and next is a tie of Ray Allen, Glen Davis, Kendrick Perkins, Brian Scalabrine, Sam Cassell, and James Posey. I think Garnett and Ray deserved the championship, but I think the rest of the team didn't. Paul Pierce has always been a big ballhog who has led his team nowhere. Sam Cassell made his team pay him money to that he could go to a better team and get a free ring. Kevin Garnett was never shut down in the Finals like Pierce was. Without Garnett the Celtics might not have made it to the Conference Finals and definetely not the Finals. Without Pierce though, they could have still made it to the Conference Finals and if really lucky, the Finals. I don't know if the Celtics will have another chance to make it back to the Finals since they are an old team, so I think that added to their willpower to get a championship which was too strong for just Kobe's willpower. The rest of the Lakers didn't seem that motivated to win, while the Celtics best 3 players were going crazy for a championship. The Lakers will be around for a long time unless they make some major trades to assure a championship next year. The Lakers just gave up in game 6 after they got down by 16. The Celtics came back from 24 down because they wanted to win a championship more than anything, while the Lakers rolled over and died. Kobe tried to make his team win, but his teammates were too soft and they weren't making shots so he had to try and keep them in the game. Even if he could score, his teammates couldn't play good enough defense. The people who are saying that Kobe is no Michael Jordan are right and wrong. Kobe is a different player so that is why he is no MJ, but he is like MJ because he fought hard to win. The problem for Kobe was that his team was soft and not defensively strong while Jordan had Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman along with other strong role players. Kobe is just like Jordan in the way that they both were high scoring 2-guards who were just winning scoring titles and losing in the first round of the playoffs, until they got some help and learned to pass the ball more. Michael Jordan had a better supporting cast and wasn't facing as good of defenses that there are today. Michael Jordan is no Kobe Bryant and Kobe Bryant is no Michael Jordan.
Just for fun I decided that I am going to write a blog of the all-time teams of a couple of the big franchises in the NBA.

Those are my teams for all-time of a couple of the franchises in the NBA. There are some teams that had good players, but didn't have enough to make an entire good lineup that would compete with the rest of these in a game.
A lot of people who don't watch basketball and just listen to the media who say that Michael Jordan is the best ever and that Kobe Bryant is a ballhog. People that watch basketball know that's not true. Kobe Bryant isn't a ballhog and if you watch a Laker game you will see. Michael Jordan isn't the best ever. Michael Jordan was favored by the refs and the NBA. The NBA made the three-point line shorter to fit MJ's range better and they changed the hand checking rule to help Jordan on offense. Jordan pushed off Byron Russell which should have been an offensive foul. If you watched the Hornets-Spurs game 6 you will see that Chris Paul did the same thing as that twice and got called for an offensive foul both times. Kobe Bryant is the refs least favorite person in the league (except for maybe Ron Artest and Rasheed Wallace). If he gets hammered on offense they will not call a foul and on defense if he only has a little body contact on the offensive player he will get called for a foul. Kobe is one of the best 3-point shooters in the league while Jordan was mediocre even on the shorter 3-point line. I like Micheal Jordan, but I believe that Kobe is better and people should know why. Michael Jordan has the better stats but he also played in a time of bad defense and he got every call his way. Scottie Pippen and all the other good players on the Bulls made Michael Jordan look better. Without Scottie Pippen, Jordan never got close to a championship. No Jordan fans want to admit it, but Kobe Bryant is better than Michael Jordan. When they played each other Kobe scored over 40 points in the first half while being guarded by MJ. Everyone says Jordan is the best ever because of all his MVP's and Championships (which he wouldn't have gotten without the help of the NBA), but no one says Bill Russell is the greatest and he won 11 championships and Kareem won 6 MVP's during his NBA career but very few people call him the greatest ever. Michael Jordan complained to the refs just as much as Kobe does if not more, but he never got called for a technical because the refs didn't want to help the other team. I do think MJ is one of the greatest players ever and I like him as an NBA player but I still believe Kobe is better.
I am a die-hard Lakers fan. I write a lot of blogs for foxsports. I know a lot of stuff about basketball and have been named "The Basketball Oracle" by my family because of my basketball knowledge. I'm a huge Kobe Bryant fan and think he is the best in the game today. L.A. Lakers - 08-09 NBA Champs!!!
