D'Antoni Wants to Change the Knicks
May 13, 2008 | 1:39PM | report this

Before everyone in New York has found out that Mike D'Antoni is the new coach of the Knicks he has already started planning what trades to do over the offseason.  One of the big trades he wants to do is trade Stephon Marbury to the Suns and somehow get Steve Nash, Boris Diaw, and/or Leandro Barbosa.  The biggest question is WHY WOULD THE SUNS WANT STEPHON MARBURY???  From all the stories we hear it makes it seem like he is a poison to any team he is on.  The Suns already had problems with Shawn Marion who doesn't cause nearly as much problems as Marbury.  But if for some reason the Knicks felt like trying to get some of the Suns the players and the Suns for some reason felt like taking some Knicks players here are some trade scenarios.

Here are some trade scenarios that I wouldn't be surprised if the Knicks offered the Suns

Knicks Trade: Stephon Marbury, Zach Randolph, 1st round draft pick, 2nd round draft pick

Suns Trade: Steve Nash, Leandro Barbosa, Boris Diaw, Eric Piatkowski, Brian Skinner

Knicks Trade: Stephon Marbury, Eddy Curry, Zach Randolph, 1st round draft pick

Suns Trade: Boris Diaw, Leandro Barbosa, Raja Bell, Grant Hill, Gordan Giricek, Shaquille O'Neal

Knicks Trade: Stephon Marbury, Eddy Curry, David Lee

Suns Trade: Steve Nash, Boris Diaw, Leandro Barbosa, Raja Bell

Where did you get that information, lol. First of all the Suns should get rid of Nash, but now there stuck with him as long as Shaq continues to play. Probably two more seasons, so they will stick with the Hill, Nash, Amare and Oneal thing for a while, problem there is you have two player that excel in the halfcourt game and one that doesnt (Nash) and one that plays good offense in both but average D (Amare) but until an offer were to come along they couldnt refuse they will probably let the wheels fall off before getting some new blood in. Honestly, phoenix should find a way to get younger but it would require dismantling its team, it cant win a championship like it is so it might as well start over, see if you can find a team making a run to take Shaq or Nash off your hands. Start over with Amare and Barbosa they could definately score some young talent from the Hawks for one of those guys, ehh who cares I hate the suns.

If Kerr makes a move, it will be to grab a guard or small forward to play some defense. Barbosa is their big chip when it comes to trade bait, and seeing how he disappears against the Spurs, he may get moved.

Did the writer realize that the SUNS organization has already 'been there, done that' with this thing called Marbury?

If Kerr evens THINKS of entertaining any offers for Stephon, he will surely be less popular than David Stern in the Valley of the SUN.

Good luck gettin rid of Marbury Coach D... maybe you should have looked at that roster a bit closer prior to signing on the dotted line.

I thought Marbury said he was going to go play in Italy after this year was up. No one is willing to gamble on him anymore he has reached Rodman like unpopularity.

Thank you CAMike...anything to do with SUNS and MARBURY won't happen! I don't see any of those trades making sense to the Suns. Nope...

I agree with BAMABOY22.

I really don't see D'Antoni making a run for any of the Suns players. He couldn't win with them so why bring them over to NY?

The Knicks may wind up drafting a point guard and may try to trade for The Matrix or Ron Artest, two great defensive players that D'Antoni wished he had during this year's playoffs.

I never said these trades would happen, they are just trade suggestions I think the Knicks could try just to try and get lucky.

Are you kidding me?!?! So now, Steve Kerr is going to help his old coach by trading all those players here? I'll take that trade all day. But it won't ever happen. Steve Kerr will get fired if he makes that trade!

Did anyone read the part where I say that I don't think these are good trades but they are trades that the Knicks might try?

Is anyone out there really this dumb?! NO WAY do the Knicks trade any of their draft picks. No way! I say keep Stephon; Just don't play him. He is a cancer, a Me-first & Me-second guard. let his contract fizzle out and use the cap space later on.

ABOUT ME

I am a huge pro basketball fan. I am also a huge Lakers fan. I hate the Celtics because of the players attitudes and the biggest homer in basketball, their announcer, Tommy Heinsohn. I am not bias in the posts about these teams though. My favorite player is Kobe Bryant and I also like everyone on the Lakers. I also like Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, and Kyle Weaver (2008 draft class). Please visit my website, www.thebasket
