I know this is a sports blog forum. But I just could not help but share this with all my friends here.
As many of you know my husband's family has been dealing with his dad's health. My parents are in the process of moving their business. And all of this I have been right in the middle of.
Well, to add to my already hectic life, I have an 11 year old Pomeranian who has been diagnosed with cateracts. Fortunately they are still very small and they are not affecting his way of life. When the vet told me what was wrong with him. I became very upset. So when I got home I told my husband what the vet said. And he saw how emotional I was.
He said these words: "Let's get one of your sister's puppies." And before I could think I said, "Okay".
So as you can figure we have added a puppy to our family. We have adopted a little Poodle mix female. She is black and is the most adorable little one.
She is so active. She is in to everything. It has been 11 years since I had a puppy in the house. And I had forgotten just how much work they are.
I told my husband this is like having a baby in the house.
So how is her big brother handling having a little sister in the house? Not to well. He is not adjusting too well to her just yet. But I know that once she gets alittle bigger and he can really play with her, things will be even more exciting in the Tsfanpc household.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! I know that mine will be very fun filled and hectic.
This is Little Bella Rose asleep on my computer desk. She loves to sleep there when I am working here. Hmmmm...wonder if she has some cat in her?
She has jon. And I am so attached to her. I can't stand to be out of the room from her.
Well she is going to have to make room for her big brother. He and I watch the races together every Sunday. Well, I should say I watch and he sleeps. lol
I'm glad I'm not at the race--supposed to be close to 100 there today. And there's hardly any shade at the track. (I was there for the 2002 race and it was in the low 80's and it was still HOT.) Fortunately this brutal heat wave will pass after today. It was 110 here in central CA yesterday. Yikes.
TS - As you will have to give the puppy alot of attention, It is known older animals seem to go down hill when a young one is adopted to the family, so you will need to keep the old chap just as happy. GOOD LUCK ! LOL.
BTH - The other thing is if you plan on moving furniture around in time, its better to do it now then after, then if his eyes go bad he can still know his way around the house without knocking in to many new things that have been moved from before. Hope all gose well TS. cheers
Forensic that was one of the things we took into consideration before we brought her home. We are not upsetting our older dog's routine with us. He still is getting all of the attention he wants.
We have had dogs for over 25 years, so bringing in a new one into the family isn't that big of a deal for us. Just a new addition to love.
Fortunately my older dog is really attached to me and the new puppy seems to be attached to my husband. So he is still getting most of my attention. He is sleeping on the couch behind me right now. He wants to be within just inches of me. So I let him. He is still my number 1 baby.
Have fun with the new addition to the family! Glad to know from your last pic on the blog that we are not the only ones to have named our dog after a race car driver. My first dog was named Waltrip after DW. He has been gone since 2001, and our current dog is a female...so no racing names now.
I hope your two dogs will really grow to enjoy each other's company. That will make your heart even happier to watch the two of them.
Gerrel my husband thought I was crazy when I named him after Ernie Irvan. So we tossed several names out and we decided which ever name he responded to that would be his name.
And the name he responded to was Ernie.
I will be so glad when Ernie finally does accept the new puppy. His barking is getting really bad. lol
