Okay I left off after the Notre Dame game. Michigan is 3-0. Next is a possibilty of a loss against Wisconsin.
Wisconsin
Last year Wisconsin beat Michigan ending any chance of a Rose Bowl if they lost to Ohio State(which they did). This year Wisconsin looks alot like they did last year exept weaker. I'll say a Michigan win. But possibly an injury or a sloppy game. That leaves alot of worries for they're next opponent..........the Illini.
Michigan Wisconsin
35 24
Illinois is next
This game worries me. Juice Williams like it or not, is probably a top 8 heisman choice. I'm sure Rich Rod knows how to deal with mobile guys but this isn't just a mobile guy. Thats why i'll say the Illini win this one.
Michigan Illini
21 31
Next. Toledo
Ah finally a break after all this hard work. Coming off a loss to the Illini the Wolverines will be eager and attackful. Too attackful. They'll trail early but in the 2nd half they'll put the Rockets down. Oh that was close...
Mich Toledo
24 10
So here we are currently 5-1(1-1) Probably on the 25. Cant be any higher than 16 or so.
Side Notes
I'm predicting Michigan WR Greg Jackson so far to be having a 2nd/3rd Team ALL-BIG TEN season.
I think SR Terrance Taylor, SR Tim Jamison, and JR Brandon Graham will be having 2nd to 3rd Team All-Big 10 seasons. By now Taylor will have about 18 tackles and 3 sacks.
Jamison will have about 20 tackles 4 sacks.
Graham will have about 28 tackles and maybe a sack.
Sophmore CB Donavan Warren will be having a 1st Team All-Big 10 season.
I woke up about 10:00 AM Eastern and I said to my wife, "Pam, I've just had the worst dream of my life.". I dreamed I was playing for the New York Yanks. I wasn't a star but we were In the World Series. I've liked the Tigers becaused my parents kinda forced me. But I really like the Red Sox more. Am I not a Tigers/Red Sox fan, but a Yankees fan? I know blogs aren't really supposed to be questions but I'm kinda scared. During the dream I did no playing. It was all publicity stuff. I was taking pictures with the team and fans. Then I stepped up to bat during the world series and woke up. All together it was a pretty nice dream. But at the same time a terrible nightmare.
Does this mean.....
I'm a Yankees fan? I did dream about being a Yankee player.
I'm not a real Red Sox fan? What type of Sox fan would dream about being a Yank
Nothing, It was just a dream? I have alot of dreams.
About 60 days away on August 30 the Utah Utes will play the Michigan Wolverines in the Big House.
Records won't be in play yet. The teams will be 0-0.The Utes last year were 9-4(5-3)Michigan was 9-4(6-2). Michigan Stadium will likely be packed after last season ended on a good(not great) note after beating the Heisman winner Tim Tebow in Florida in the Capital One Bowl. Alot of things will change. No Mike Hart. No Chad Henne. No Mario Manningham. No Jake Long. No Lloyd Carr. And from what I here no Nike. A spread offense. But at least one thing will be the same. It's Opening day at Michigan Stadium. Last year's opening day was a shock, and an eye opener.
I predict this years opening day will be the opposite. It will likely be a solid defeat. I'll say because of the holes in the Michigan defense the score will be
Utah Michigan
27 38
Next game, Sept, 6. Miami(ohio).
This wont be as close. Miami only one 1 game outside of it's conference. Michigan's D will clamp down.
Miami(ohio) Michigan(2-0)
10 35
Two victories to start the season. Next is the big challenge. Notre Dame ended the season with 2 wins and has a great recruiting class. Jimmy Clausen might just start to develope this year.
I'll say Michigan wins but not quite as easy as it was last year.
Notre Dame Michigan(3-0)
24 28
So I've got Michigan Starting 3-0. Stay tuned for part 2,3, and 4.
His team has three Star players. Two of those players are probably in the top 10 players in the league.
Without his defensive coach he'd look pretty bad.
Chances are, you didn't even know who he was until this year.
He was almost fired last year. He won 24 games.
Management got Allen and KG.
REASONS HE IS
He has the biggest turnaround in NBA history
He won the championship.
2000 Coach of the year.
66 wins this year.
OVERALL
He's a good coach but he is a little overrated by the media. I think if most NBA coaches were given Pierce, Allen, and Garnett they'd win the East. Congrats to Doc and the Celtics though.
I think that the greatest symbolization of a football team is their helmet. It's been raised in glory, lowered in defeat, scratched by blocks, shined by sweat and shows the hard work a team has been through.
Honorable Mention Bengals
This helmet is like a Halloween costume to me. When I see it i say wow how great. How good. How unique. How strange. How weird. How ugly. But most people I know never tire of watching players were tiger skins on their head. If only they had a Tigers keen defensive skills(which they might have in 08).
5. Raiders
Every time i see the logo i think how do they put this on a helmet. And I still dont know how but it looks so great together. Some would think a shield with a Pirate and 2 swords, with the word Raiders on it would be too much. But it flows greatly.
4. Colts
Just the fact that Unitas and Manning had the same helmet design is legendary. Never changed probably never will. Simple but bold. That ol lucky horshoe has been there for decades it will for decades to come.
3. Packers
This is just like the colts. Simple and plain, but legendary. Has been there for years. That big G. Bart Starr to Brett Favre. And just like the colts, it has never changed. I rank it ahead of Indy because I personally think it looks better.
2. Cowboys
Five times has a Vince Lombardi Trophy been hoisted by the Cowboys. Five Superbowls. This helmet may be plain but it's an icon. That star symbolizes 79 straight sell outs. The richest franchise in the NFL. Sucess is rewarded.
1. Steelers.
One side is a hardcore, old school football logo. The other side is black paint. The steelers uniforms and helmets are legendary in the NFL. The Black and Gold is everywhere. The second largest fan base and the most loyal fan base as well. The helmet has won 5 super bowls. And It is the symbol of hardcore football.
If you dont like the top 2 selections and i know you won't i'll make a list thats more...........uh......whats the word....i don't know.......modern.
5. John Elway.
It was those last 2 years. They showed he wasn't a good QB. A great one and with the most 4th q combacks of all time you could say he's the best ever without being crazy.
The 4th Quater King.
4. Dan Marino
The best passer who ever played. Accurate. Steady. No Super Bowls but a whole lot of TDs.
On Point
3. Joe Montana
He won 4 Super Bowls. 3 Super Bowl MVPs. He was just a flat out winner.
The Winner.
2. Otto Graham.
Even more of a winner than Joe. He started 10 seasons, played in 10 title games, and won 7 championships.
The Other Winner
1. Johnny Unitas.
Absolutely best leader and captain of an offense. Great stats for somebody who played around 40 years ago.
First of all as a disclamer i'm listening to New Soul by Yael Naim so if my list seems a little "soft" please forgive me.
10. Joe Thomas.
C'mon he's only played one year(you got me there). Lots of people have good rookie years and never rebound(true). Yeah he hasn't entirely proven himself(wrong). If theres one lineman on the Browns who has proven themself it is Joe Thomas.
He made the Pro Bowl and played every snap. Thomas came in second in the voting for NFL Rookie of the Year. He was the only other person to receive votes other than the eventual winner
Adrian Peterson.
9. Matt Light.
He is the anchor of the offensive line of the most winning team of this century. He's really shined in the past 3 years and although he is a little overated he's not too overated to be on this list. It's true he doesn't have as much talent as some guys on this list but he's a flat out winner and a great lineman.
8. Alan Faneca.
His play has been very incosistent lately. He's made the Pro-Bowl on reputation alone. But even with those demerits he's still one of the best out there. One of the best Steeler lineman ever(according to All-75th Anniversary Team voted by fans).
5 All-Pro. 7 Pro-Bowl. And a big shiny super bowl ring. He's a beast. And the steelers are probably eviotos for getting rid of him.
7. Tom Nalen.
Honestly you look at this picture and say hey! It's John Elway! The 5th best QB of all time(according to me). But who's the guy with those tight #### pants on. His 5 pro bowls and no All-Pro's means he is a fan favorite. I like fan favorites. 2 super bowls and consitency put this guy at the number "7" spot.
6. Flozell Adams.
He is one of the few people keeping Romo from being exposed as the mediocre QB he is. Adams is a solid and sometimes clutch protector.
5. Steve Hutchinson.
Yeah I'm a biased michigan fan so deal with it.
But 5 all-pro selections(and 5 pro-bowls) make him a skilled reconized lineman.
4. Jeff Saturday
while watching the Super Bowl(last year) I noticed the MVP of that super bowl wasn't Manning. It wasn't Addai. It was Saturday. He opened wholes like a it was nothing and in the past 3 years he's been the best center in the NFL.
3. Willie Anderson.
I'm going to go with Anderson because I don't think he's had as many talented players lining up (direcetly) next to him. Although he was injured last year, he had an impressive run for 10 years as a starter.
2. Orlando Pace.
The numbers on this guy are incredible. in 11 years he's amounted to a Super Bowl Champ. A 7 time Pro Bowler. A 6 time All-Pro. But the only thing separating him from number 1 is injuries.
1. Walter Jones.
In the same amount of time Pace has gotten 7 pro bowls. Jones got 8. In the same time Pace got 6 all-pros. Jones got 7. Does it mean he's alot better. No. It's probably just because of injury but that doesn't matter because the best O-lineman in the game today is Walter Jones.
Honorable mention
Eric Steinbach-solid
Leonard Davis-pretty goof
Jake Long-not even played yet and already overpaid,
And as long as there are cities with NFL teams there will..................ah what the hell i dont have a pun for this but here are a few NFL worthy cities and a few cities that dont even deserve the hype.
Number 3 best NFL worthy village is...........................
3. Las Vegas.
You know about 10 years ago this could have been possible. But with Roger Goddell it's about as likely as a Sea World coming to Rwanda. The NFL is trying to create a league of fine young men that are good stewards and good athletes. But hey it's Vegas!
Pros-Viva Las Vegas! No Problem selling tickets. No problem rasing money. It'll be a popular team. Gives nevada people something to like besides casinos and brothels.
Cons-It's Vegas! Gives NFL "bad" name. There will be lots of scandals with players. Not exactly the most "veagasy" thing. Takes away UNLV fans.
2. Portland, Oregon.
The Portland trailblazers have stayed. I think an NFL team could not only thrive but flourish in Portland. Plenty of people and fans.
Pros-Simply an ideal NFL city. Just a good family place or single place. The city is very comparible to NFL cities.
Cons-It's a little bit boring. Rainy weather.
1. Toronto.
Can you see it now the NFL goes N ternational! Toronto supports CFL and NBA team.
Pros-International. No shortage of people. Canaidiens go to bills games alot.
Cons-It's the NFL. Not the IFL. It's not america. We'd have to sing O Canada. It's too different.
Honerable mention.
Raleigh,
Birmingham,
Honolulu.
Now the worst ideas
3. Virginia.
Not a city but who cares. No the NFL doesn't need Virginia. Virginia i believe is the largest state with no team. But tell them to look up and down and they'll see one.
2. San Antonio-
With a huge cowboys fan population here all talk should be....eliminated
1. LA-
I'll be cold and dead in the ground before an NFL team ever again enters hollywood.
dishonerable mention-Columbus, Albany, El Paso, and San Jose
5. USC fans. They are a great team with great history. But every year they claim to be number one. Every year they say they're the best.
The fans suck plain and simple.
Then after they crush the illini they think they deserve the split national championship.
And nobody forget Stanford.
4. Charger Fans. There's always an excuse.
After the playoff loss to the patriots last year, most fans blamed it on Marty. Thus far in the season, I'm pretty sure he wasn't the problem. he wasn't the one out there dropping punts and committing personal fouls that gave the offense 1st downs on failed 3rd down conversions that lead to touchdowns. This year everything is being put on Phillip Rivers and Norv Turner.
3. Duke Basketball Fans.
In 2001 Duke Basketball won the NCAA title just in case you forgot. Of course nobody in Durham, North Carolina has forgot. Especially these guys.
Now I dont really understand whats with the hand thing. I've been to 3 games at Cameron and the place is loud and the fans are annoying. I don't know how anybody smart enough to go to Duke can act like a ####.
Does rude describe these fans. Does idiodic describe them. I'd just say plain annoying.
sigh
2. Ohio State fans. Yeah I'm a meeeeeeeshegan fan. But i wemt to a OSU vs. UM game in Columbus and I come out and I see about 15 cars that are tire-slashed and windows broke including mine.
I already know how to spell Ohio.
Slutiest Fans Award.
Further your education at OSU.
The "THE" makes them all the more annoying.
1. Cowboys Fans.
Cowboy fans. Without a doubt, there are more bandwagon Cowboy fans than any team in pro sports. Just look at the whole T.O. situation. When he played for the Eagles, after he had danced on the star as a Niner every Cowboy fan would tell you he was an overrated mediocre WR who was a worse human being than Hittler, Stalin and Jeffrey Dahmer combined. They wanted him crippled or dead and kicked out of football. Now those same "Fans" will tell you that he's an incredible player, great teammate and poor misunderstood soul who's just been persecuted by the media. NOW they want him elected president, given the nobel peace prize and inducted into the Hall of Fame. I can't say anything as far as the ones who actually live in Texas, but the "Cowboy fans" you see wearing their blue & silver jackets with the ol' star on them in other parts of the country are the same ones that will be "Huge Pats, Steelers, Colts, etc. fans" any time the Cowboys stink.
I've looked around and I'm now pretty sure any collegiate football player can win the Heisman.
Armanti Edwards plays college football. Armanti in two years has thrown for about 4100 yards 32 TDs and 17 picks. He has a 63 percent completion rating. 150 QB rating. He's also rushed for 2600 yard and 36 TDs including an 80 yard run. that totals for 6700 yards and 68 TDs in 2 years. Even though he plays in the FCS he's done well against Delaware, Michigan, NC State, and James Madison. Those are always kinda solid defenses.
Now imagine what armanti might do next year. 2500 passing yards. 2000 rushing yards. 23 passing TD. 27 rushing TDs. He dominates the game. He might just get some well deserved Heisman attention. I think the least he deserves is a look. He defeated a team Florida couldn't defeat. Dont be too surprised if you see
This guy in New York picking up a little somethin-something.
5 QB's Ten Years Down the road. Let's start with the best.
Matt Ryan.AKA-Solid Tall, strong , smart, likable guy. 10 years from now He'll be the starting QB for the Dolphins. The Dolphins seasons will slowly improve with time and Matt will get much of the credit then after 5 years of rebuilding he'll lead the phins to a division title and a Conference championship loss. 3 years of stead football later he'll be in the Super Bowl losing. Next season they'll be 9-7 and loose in wild card play. Next year will be similar.
Overall:
Pro Bowls-3
Super Bowls-1(lost)
All Pro-2
Stats 162 TDs 71 INTS
NEXT
Chad Henne AKA Late bloomer. He'll be QB for the Baltimore Ravens. After the retirement of Steve McNair after next season Chad will once again battle Troy Smith but this time for playing time. After a 1.5 years of Troy, Chad will take over and for the .5 of the season look solid. After 2 years of shakyness he'll be on the hot seat. Over the next 5 years he'll improve to lead the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory in 4 playoff apperances.
Overall
Pro Bowls-2
Super Bowls-1(win)
All Pro-0
Stats 103 TDs 51 INTs
LAST
Colt Brennan AKA-SurpriseAfter being picked up by the Bears he'll be put in as a starter after 2 years of Grossman/Orton/Griese musical QBs. He'll shine. He'll shock. He will surprise. He'll immediately lead them to a playoff apperance, the following year a conference title game loss. Then the next year a wild card loss. Then the next year a clutch Super Bowl victory. After 3 more years of first round exits he'll win the big one again. He's gonna be somebody.

Let's face it. The Media looooooooooves Tyler Hansbrough. And why shouldn't they. 23 points a game. 10 rebounds a game. 4 offensive rebounds a game. Draws a lot of chargers. National Player of the Year(pretty much all of them). But some say he gets all this treatment because he's white and if say.......Beasley was white he'd be National Player of the Year and the Media would love him.
Jake Long is a 6-7 300 pound beast. He's the best offensive linemen in Michigan history. One of the best in Big Ten11 history. Jake Long has been getting a lot of attention on NFL.com draft section. He has around 7-8 videos about him. I think it's because he's the best OT in the draft. Some say it's cause he's white. And lets say uh........a certain one of these guys isn't because he's black.(can you guess which one it is)
Chris Long is a monster, soldier, a whole army. But he's getting loads of attention that some say..............Vernon Gholston might deserve.
Tebow wins the heisman. McFadden doesn't. One annoncer describes him as "a guy you'd want to marry your daughter."
Here are some responses I've gotten.
Yes, sadly in this day and age it is true I mean consider how Barry Bonds has been treated in the steroids affair and how Roger Clemens is being treated. Seriously, Clemens had some on field issues i.e. throwing the bat at Piazza which you can't say of Bonds. Another example is when Ben Roethelsberger got hurt riding a motorcycle as did Kellen Winslow how was that handled? There are several are many examples of similar behavior being treated much differently. Too much to mention here maybe if I was getting a degree in sociology or communications I might have good subject matter for a dissertation. `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````````````````````````` ```````````````` Yes they do, The media is waiting for a black players to screw up, act stupid, or join the slappaho tribe. `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````` Of course they are. Tyler Hansborough get all this attention not just because he is good but because he is good and white. Not to many talented white players coming out of college, when there is one than of course he is going to draw attention. Same for football especially when it's not the QB position. I think since there isn't a lot coming out it's more impressive to the media when one does have the talent. `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````````````````````````` ``````````````````````` Yea, hust look at the Leinhart story. It's treated as a boys will be boys. If he was black it would be viewed as a...well how the vikings were treated after their cruise. `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````````````````````````` ````````````````````````` No i think they're treated the same but on who you think is better is partly wrong. McFadden is FAR better at RB than Tebow is at QB McFadden has been cheated out of Hiesman for two straight years, you could ask the LSU Tigers who was a bigger threat! B-Ez is easily better than Tyler, he has better stats & if you compare UNC's talent not counting Hansborough to K-State's talent not counting Beasley, B-Ez elevated his team's gameplay far more than Tyler did with UNC. Take Tyler from UNC & their still a top 10 team, take Michael Beasley from K-State & they don't even make the NIT let alone the tourney.
But no doubt Jake Long is the best O-lineman in the draft & Chris Long>Vernon. `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````````````````````````` ````````````````````` Thats a load of ####. `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````````````````````````` ```````````````````` I think they're treated equally. Some black athletes (Henry, Vick, Pacman) give the rest a bad name with the media. They don't understand that they can't live the #### lifestyle anymore, with all the people watching them like they do. The media reports on whatever stories it gets, about any athlete, black or white. Look at Leinar story. He was partying with some girls, and it became a story. If he was doing something illegal, then he'd be in the same boat as Pacman or Henry. It's the choices that the athletes make that gives them the type of media attention they receive `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````` Yes.. sad, but true Hun. The Black players have to be near Perfect in everything off the field.. the white player does not... #### Bu*t, but thats why theyre called the Minority, because everything is unfortunately control by us, if it were reversed, im sure yould see alot of Matt Leinart, Tom Brady having a baby out of wedlock, if that were Donovan Mcnabb who knocked sum chic up then broke up with her, i dont think it would have been forgotten quite so fast, Jeremy Shockey, and Bill Walton, when he was in college acting like idiots. `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````````````````````````` ``````````````````` Yes..look at Barry Bonds and Mark McGuire. I think Peyton Manning mooned somebody in college `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````````````````````````` ````````````````````` Just the nature of the question #### me off. `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````` BY THE WAY i didn't write that cowboys song.
But before i can answer that. I'll have to ask one.
The miami dolphins helmet has a dolphin wearing a helmet. But the dolphin's helmet doesn't have a dolphin but an "M". Who's side are they on.
Mexico. You see originally, The Dolphin was wearing a sombrero and on the Sombrero had a map of Cuba pictured on it. To intimidate the opposition, they put the "M" on it. The M stood for "Montana" (Tony "M"ontana) But when Joe "M"ontana came into the league it confused everybody. People started thinking that Joe "M"ontana had a coke problem and their were ruomores that he was packing heat under his shoulder pads. People in the State of "M"ontana did not like the reference and passed Prop. 187 to outlaw Cubans, "M"exicans and People from San Francisco (homophobic).
In the 1984 Superbowl, Joe "M"ontana put an "m" on the back of his helmet to mock the dolphins. The tricked worked and he smoked "M"arino 38-16.
"M"arino, mad as usual, decided to leave his mark by putting teal marks on the back of every QB's helmet. But ever since his record was broken he's lost money and cant afford teal but regular green dots. They've been there ever since.
Love Michigan football. Carolina Panthers. UNC Basketball. Detroit Tigers/Red Sox. Actually I'm not a Tiger guy. My parents love them but my uncle(who i was close with) gave me a Sox hat for my 6th B-day. When I saw MY hat on TV. I guess that was the moment. I'd like to see more successful Tiger seasons but at least I've got the Red Sox to cheer me up(although they don't look too good).
I guess my story is Born in Michigan moved to North Carolina at 13 and saw first ever home panthers game. I loved them for some reason.
