5. USC fans. They are a great team with great history. But every year they claim to be number one. Every year they say they're the best.

4. Charger Fans. There's always an excuse.
After the playoff loss to the patriots last year, most fans blamed it on Marty. Thus far in the season, I'm pretty sure he wasn't the problem. he wasn't the one out there dropping punts and committing personal fouls that gave the offense 1st downs on failed 3rd down conversions that lead to touchdowns. This year everything is being put on Phillip Rivers and Norv Turner.
3. Duke Basketball Fans.
In 2001 Duke Basketball won the NCAA title just in case you forgot. Of course nobody in Durham, North Carolina has forgot. Especially these guys.
Now I dont really understand whats with the hand thing. I've been to 3 games at Cameron and the place is loud and the fans are annoying. I don't know how anybody smart enough to go to Duke can act like a ####.
Does rude describe these fans. Does idiodic describe them. I'd just say plain annoying.

2. Ohio State fans. Yeah I'm a meeeeeeeshegan fan. But i wemt to a OSU vs. UM game in Columbus and I come out and I see about 15 cars that are tire-slashed and windows broke including mine.

Cowboy fans. Without a doubt, there are more bandwagon Cowboy fans than any team in pro sports. Just look at the whole T.O. situation. When he played for the Eagles, after he had danced on the star as a Niner every Cowboy fan would tell you he was an overrated mediocre WR who was a worse human being than Hittler, Stalin and Jeffrey Dahmer combined. They wanted him crippled or dead and kicked out of football. Now those same "Fans" will tell you that he's an incredible player, great teammate and poor misunderstood soul who's just been persecuted by the media. NOW they want him elected president, given the nobel peace prize and inducted into the Hall of Fame. I can't say anything as far as the ones who actually live in Texas, but the "Cowboy fans" you see wearing their blue & silver jackets with the ol' star on them in other parts of the country are the same ones that will be "Huge Pats, Steelers, Colts, etc. fans" any time the Cowboys stink.
good article I have to agree with you on the Ohio State fans as I am a Michigan fan some of them (not all of them) are just really annoying. especially hate when they talk about this winning streak they got going against us like we have never had a winning streak against them. hope we can beat them this year it will be hard but maybe we could pull of the upset. i would of added oakland raiders fans in there because year after year they say they are going to be better then they go 4-12 and they say next year they are going to be good.

Wow, very well done. I might agree with one Greenspire point - personally, I'd have swapped Chargers fans out and put Patriots fans in - - but it's a relatively fine point (whiny & annoying, vs. terminally smug & annoying - tough call).
Hello, the top of the list is missing the self-entitled fans of the highest payroll in the hemisphere. This is the team that tries to buy a champioinship.
Da Yankees fans are the worst to be around in your home stadium.
I waited the whole time for the Boys to show up and finally the did. There are a few things that I must point out though.
Your definition of "bandwagon" is skewed. Bandwagon fans are the fans that don't care about a team when they're bad but then jump right on board when they're good again. They are not fans that hate someone when they're on a different team then love him when he's on yours. Cowboys fans hated TO because he was on the Niners and Eagles, two rivals. I for one never thought TO was overrated. You watch him on the field and his game has always spoken for itself. I just hated him because of the damage he did to the Cowboys every time they played him. If you can tell me you wouldn't want your team to sign a premier wide out like that, you're crazy. And even when he was signed, Cowboys fans were very cool on him. I remember seeing a sign part way through his first season that said "TO will never be a true Cowboy!" You might take notice that TO has in fact been a different person on the Cowboys than he has on the other teams. Maybe that's why Boys fans like him? Because he's actually respectable now? And we don't want him elected prez or given the Nobel...we just want a Super Bowl, and he'll help us get it. And for the record, no Cowboys fan, bandwagon or otherwise, will ever cheer for the Steelers.
You should have put UM fans as 2a,Blue fans were no better in the 90's.It's just payback.
I was a HUGE Cowboys fan until they brought in Sanders,he was just as hated he just never spiked on the star.Then they hired "The Tuna" and brought in T.O. and the Cowboy gear went in the trash and Sunday football went out the window.Haven't been a fan since.

Let's be honest. Those bandwagon fans that will hate the Boys if/when they falter again aren't fans. So don't lump them in with us who have been fans for the 1-15 seasons as well as the SB's.
Being a Buckeye fan , I don't know why OSU fans are so hated. I don't know why or when it started. Too me, its a shame. People mistake the meaning and all the fun #### that goes on with the fans. Sure there are hooligan type idiots that ruin it for the rest of us. I'm also a Michigan fan. Just not when they play together.
You have to ask yourself, what do these teams have in common to be hated so much? Except for San Diego, you have picked some of the top teams in their respective sports. Fans of poor or inconsistant teams grow to hate teams who always seem to be at or near the top, tell the truth now.I HATE the steelers but i admit that they're dammed good.
Great article...as a Cowboy fan in Dallas I somewhat agree on the "bandwagon" comment. But, you should of added "Eagle" fans. They have to be the worse fans out there. Well, I wouldn't really call them "fans"...more like cattle with Mad Cow Disease. Oh..plus I'm pretty sure that don't take baths. Sat next to a couple of them once...nearly hurled my lunch.

5. Boston Red Sox Fans. You can see all of the bandwagon fans sporting their old Brooklyn Dodgers or UCLA Bruins letter "B" baseball caps. Most of them fail to realize they just finally are good after 90 years of futility.
4. Duke Blue Devil Fans. Other than Lacrosse and Men's BBall. They really aren't good in anything else. Have you ever been to a home football game? I'm surprised that Duke handn't dropped the football team there. But where are those 30 die hard fans gonna go in the stands. Maybe Chapel Hill or jus go to a Carolina game.
3. Chicago Cubs Fans. These drunkards don't know much about baseball. They only go to the game to get hammered. They place the blame on "Bartman" for costing them a championship. They haven't won a world series in over 100 years. They love to show other people their fandom because they like to wear their merchandise.
2. Ohio State Fans. Yes, I am a Michigan Alum. I've been to a game in Columbus where they hit me and my girlfriend with batteries. These guys can really tear up a city, either win or lose. Prior to the last 2 seasons Ohio State hadn't won an outright Big 10 title in almost 20 years. But talking to them, you'd never know.

These are the fans that root for an entire conference instead of one team. The media has annointed two of your teams as mythical champs. But they believe the other teams should ride the coattails of Florida and LSU. Half of your conference doesn't even compete for a conference title. Vandy, South Carolina, Arkansas, Kentucky

Miss State and Ole Miss hadn't broke through and won a conference title in over 50 years. SEC is good, but not the end all of CFB as their fans would like to think.
Honorable Mention: Notre Dame and Any Team from the NFC East.
GoBlue, unfortunately, a few idiots can ruin it for everyone. I had a friend who was/is a huge Tennessee fan, she was hit by Georgia fans at a UT/UGA game. Be thankful that it wasn't a soccer game in Europe, if you don't understand why, ask Lisa.
Now on to my list....
5. Yankee fans. (I like the Yankees, for the record) How many times must you mention 26 World Championships?

I think some teams your leaving out would be The Riders they have the most annoying NFL fans along with the Cowboys, Michigan is pretty hated on as a Buckeye fan i no just how hated you are. Notre Dame I am a buckeye fan like i said but i hate Notre Dame far more then michigan, notre dame and all their fans are stuck up and think they are better than everyone else, join a confrence and then ill respect you. How can you not have Notre Dame fans on this list. That team has been horrible for almost 20 years but you would think they have won 5 titles in those 20 years. They are the most smug, and stuck up fans in college football, and maybe all sports.

All right, I guess I gotta stand up for myself. I have never lived in Texas (but my family is from Dallas) yet the Cowboys are the ONLY team that will have my eternal loyalty.
The first football game I ever watched was Super Bowl XXVII and I've been hooked ever since. I now live in New England and you will not find somebody who is less of a Patriots fan. I like the Cowboys whether they're good or bad.
As far as TO goes, anybody who said he was a bad player was an ####. An #### yes but a bad player absolutely not. It looks like he's going into the Hall of Fame and he'll do it as a Cowboy. He hasn't caused any problems in Dallas (yet the problems continue in Philly without him) so I really don't care about what happened to his other teams.

My parents love them but my uncle(who i was close with) gave me a Sox hat for my 6th B-day. When I saw MY hat on TV. I guess that was the moment.
