MITCH!! Kupchek finish runner up to Danny Ainge for NBA Executive of the year.

MITCH!! should have won it after all he was put through this offseason, after having his judgement, character, and work ethic questioned by the franchise player, MITCH!! decided to stick to his plan, and stick to his guns.

"I don't see why he shouldn't finish first," forward Lamar Odom said. "Thinking of some of the guys that he picked, people kind of wondered about that. To understand what Bynum was going to do and what he was going to bring, he's definitely deserving of it. And then, to be able to pull off that Gasol trade was amazing, especially in the middle of the year like that."

And, Odom added, "He did a great job by keeping this team together."

-LA Times

Strangley, no quote in the article from said face of franchise.

Great job MITCH!! maybe if the laker organizaiton had promoted a "Kupchek for Executive of the year" campaign he might have pulled through. Oh well.

I now pronounce thee MITCH!! Kupchek blog day.

When Bryant was asked if he should have shot so much after injuring his back he said, "I got some pretty good looks. They didn't fall down for me. Some nights they do, some nights they don't."

He said his greatest challenge is elevating.

"I'm glad we don't play tomorrow," Bryant said. "It'll give me another day to recuperate and get ready. I'll be ready to go."

A little bit of meee mixed with some car stickers (kb24)
A no call that'll jump start my heart quicker
than a shock when I get shocked at the hospital
by the doctor when I'm not co-operating
When I'm rockin the table while he's operating (hey!!)
You waited this long, now stop debating
Cause I'm back, I'm on the rag and ovu-lating
I know that you got a job Ms. Jeanie

but your boyfriend's hip problem's complicating
So the NBA won't let me be
or let me be me, so let me see
They try to shut me down on TNT
But it feels so empty, without me
So, run on and rip, dunk on your lips
Forget that, spin on your hips, and some on your mitts
And get ready, cause this ishss about to get heavy
I just settled all my lawsuits, F$@# YOU KATIE!

Now this looks like a job for me
So everybody, just follow me
Cause we need a little, controversy
Cause it feels so empty, without me
I said this looks like a job for me
So everybody, just follow me
Cause we need a little, controversy
Cause it feels so empty, without me

So you paid me millions, still i'm feelin rebellious
Embarrassed my teammates shoot like Elvis
They start feelin like prisoners helpless
'til Shaq comes along on and he's pissed and yells SNITCH!!!
A visionary, vision of scary
Could start a revolution, pollutin the airwaves
A rebel, so just let me revel and bask
in the fact that I got everyone kissin my #### {*smak*
And it's a disaster, such a catastrophe
for you to see so damn much of my ####; you asked for me?
Well I'm back, na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na
{*bzzt* Fix your bent antenna tune it in and then I'm gonna

Feel the tension, soon as someone mentions me
Here's my ten cents, my two cents is free
A nuisance, who sent? You sent for me?

You don't know me, you're too old, let go
It's over, nobody believes you could play the Pip role
Now let's go, just gimme the signal
I'll be there with a whole list full of new insults
I been dope, suspenseful my mental
ever since Bucher reported I'd be a Bull

But sometimes the #### just seems
everybody only wants to discuss me
So this must mean I'm dis-gus-ting
But it's just me, I'm just obscene
No I'm not the first king of controversy
I am the worst thing since Elvis Presley
to ruin my team so selfishly
and used it to get myself wealthy
(Hey!!) There's a concept that works
Twenty million other selfish jerks emerge
But no matter how many fish in the sea
It'll be so empty, without me

FINALLY ALL IS RIGHT IN THE WORLD.

NBA Bryant will win first MVP award Kobe Bryant Email Picture Jack Dempsey, Associated Press Lakers guard Kobe Bryant soars back to the bench after hitting a basket against the Denver Nuggets during the fourth quarter in Game 4 of the first-round. Stern will make the official presentation to Lakers star next week. By Mike Bresnahan, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
May 3, 2008 It took 12 seasons, but Kobe Bryant has finally been selected the NBA's most valuable player, The Times has learned.

Sources familiar with the outcome who were not authorized to speak publicly about the award until the official announcement from the league said Commissioner David Stern will be in Los Angeles next week to present the trophy to Bryant.

The award, selected by NBA writers and broadcasters, figured to go to either Bryant or New Orleans guard Chris Paul, who guided the Hornets to second place in the Western Conference in the regular season.

Bryant's season capped a massive turnaround from a tumultuous off-season in which he asked to be traded.

The Lakers went from shaky preseason forecasts to winning the top spot in the West, finishing 57-25 in one of the most grueling regular-season races in league history. The Lakers then swept Denver in the first round of the playoffs, with Bryant averaging 33.5 points a game in the series, although the votes had already been cast by then.

Bryant, 29, lost a little in the scoring column during the regular season, falling from 31.6 points a game last season to 28.3 during the 2007-08 season, but his defense was notably better and he averaged 6.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists, numbers that were tied for the second- and fourth-best outputs of his career.

He also deferred to teammates much more than in the last few seasons and rarely forced his will on games, a trait that saddled him in the past.

Despite his explosive on-court ability, Bryant never engendered much MVP support until this season. He was third in the voting last season, fourth two seasons ago, and did not receive a vote three years ago when the Lakers failed to make the playoffs.

He was fifth when the Lakers last advanced to the NBA Finals, in 2003-04.

As the 2007-08 regular season wound down, Bryant spoke about the MVP award.

"MVP nowadays is not an individual award," he said last month. "You really have to make your teammates better and elevate your ballclub. For me to be nominated in that race is a tremendous honor because that's really been one of the criticisms that people have had of me, is how well do I make my teammates better. From that standpoint, I feel like I've already won."

The Lakers usually let the fortunes of their players rest on their own achievements, but the team took the added step of creating a Bryant-for-MVP campaign by sending material to NBA writers around the league.

The concept mimicked an old-style political election campaign and consisted of bumper stickers, campaign buttons, red suspenders and a letter from "campaign manager" Jerry Buss, who urged writers to vote for Bryant.

It might have lent a helping hand, although Bryant's season-long play ultimately had the final say.

Bryant is the fourth Laker to win the MVP award. Shaquille O'Neal won in 2000, Magic Johnson won three times, the last in 1990, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar won the MVP three times as a Laker, the last time in 1980.

You or Lisa or anyone else is entitled to their opinion. My opinion is that Scott is a class A JERK. I don't care if he's from Oklahoma, Arizona or the MOON.

I get sick of being called Okie,Hillbilly,Cracker, White Trash, Trailer trash, Hick and a dozen other names all the time by people who don't live in Oklahoma. Gunquat even wrote his blog about it.

It's even worse if Scott is from Oklahoma because he grew up hearing it too and to perpetuate the stereotype is disgusting.

He is obese. Obesity has destroyed the medical insurance business and I am poor and have a heart problem and have problems getting help all the time and the AMA says everything is so bad because of Obesity in America. 2 out of 5 are so overweight they take up all the money and nobody can get affordable insurance anymore. So don't you lecture me Worst.

Unfortunately I wasn't lucky enough to grow up in California like Lisa and go to USC and be rich. She's the number one writer here seems to me but her perspective is not the same as mine.

I apologize for what HE did.

12:46 AM I;m trying to help splitting this into two parts....on the Rosie thing? That fat BLEEP big mouth talks on EVERYTHING except the one undeniable thing and that is the AMA says obesity is the number one preventable killer in the USA today and that 95% of fat people could stop it if they'd just STOP EATING SO DAMN MUCH. She don't talk to that and I hope Trump (who is hard to like in a fight but Rosie did it for me) wins his lawsuit.

According to plan
Apr 23, 2008 | 7:10AM | report this

Saw an interesting stat during last nights Spurs vs. Suns tangle. 94% of the time when a team takes a 2 games to none lead in a series that team holds on to win the series. Only 13 teams in NBA history have over come a 2 games to none deficeit.

Currently all 5 series that have seen two games played the favorite has won and all 5 series are at 2 games to none.

The Hornets, Spurs, Jazz, Magic, and Cavaliers have all been able to manage to hold down homecourt (except Utah), and take a 2 games to none series lead.

Who was the last NBA team to overcome a 2-0 deficeit and win a playoff series?
