My first installment got some pretty good feedback. As I tried to steer everyone away from picking their favorite teams, I still received a lot of bias and prejudice.
Let me start by making sure everyone understands what I'm looking for. The question is...WHAT TWO TEAMS WOULD YOU LIKE TO WATCH PLAY FOR THE CRYSTAL FOOTBALL IN THE BCS TITLE GAME?
Forget the rankings, forget the losses. Based on what you know or have seen about these teams, let me know what two teams you think would make a great BCS NC game!
I don't want homerism, but it is welcomed.
So what match-ups would be the best? We all know there have been a shortage of great BCS NC games. Only the Texas/USC and Miami/OSU games lived up to hype and were worth watching.
So let me know guys and gals...and to make it easy, I decided to once again type in just the letter below, or add your own. This is yours. Have fun with it. Let me know why you think this match-up would be a great one.
A. Missouri vs. West Virginia
B. Missouri vs. Ohio State
C. Ohio State vs. West Virginia
D. Missouri vs. Georgia
E. Ohio State vs. Georgia
F. West Virginia vs. Georgia
G. LSU vs. Ohio State
H. Kansas vs. Ohio State
I. LSU vs. West Virginia
J. LSU vs. USC
K. USC vs. Florida
L. Virginia Tech vs. Missouri
M. Virginia Tech vs. West Virginia
N. USC vs. West Virginia
O. Missouri vs. USC
P. Oklahoma vs. West Virginia
Q. Oklahoma vs. Virginia Tech

I'd like to get enough responses so that I could tally them up and develop a four game playoff system out of this. So c'mon y'all, help me out here. I don't do these sort of things too often, and I want FOXBLOGGERS TO HELP ME ON THIS ONE. Of course write-ins are greatly welcome and appreciated!
OK BLOGGERS! I NEED YOUR HELP!
P.S. Sorry I posted to so many categories. I never do that. I just wanted to get it out there. I want to get all kinds of responses and opinions.
Yeah, I like R as a write in. So you think A would be the best match-up? It would definitely be a darn good based on the way Chase Daniel played vs. Kansas
88 - I think it would be the most entertaining (WV-Mizzou) but the best matchup might actually be ... gasp... Ohio State vs. West Virginia.
The Buckeye defense would be a big test for White/Slaton. Those guys don't like getting hit and OSU can be physical. The same would go for USC against LSU or Missouri.
Another interesting game would be Oklahoma against Ohio State although it could be too much defense for most people's liking.
I agree with some of this Norcal. The Oklahoma/OSU game would be a great one.
I don't know if OSU matches up very well with WVU though. Even though OSU could keep it close for awhile, could they score enough to keep them in it through the fourth quarter. And most importantly, would they be gassed by then?
USC and LSU...now that would be a dandy game. There would be a lot of talent on the field. But the same goes with any combination of the teams you have mentioned.
Like I was commenting to Norcal...OSU doesn't match up with WVU. But who does? I think OSU's defense is impressive. Quick to the ball. But I think WVU's speedy QB, Backs, receievers, and then there's Owen to be the bully. Physical defenses can be effective. But you can't pop someone you can't catch!
I don't really get into college football all that much, but thanks to ESPNradio I have a pretty good idea of what's going on. Based on the couple of games I have actually seen this season I think I would like to see I LSU VS West Virginia. I think West Virginia's offense against the LSU defense would be a good match. Mix in Les Miles gutsy play calling and I think you've got a pretty good game. Can just say that everyone makes a real big deal out of the BCS system and I understand why. It always looks like a mess during the middle of the season, but usually works its way out. Provided numbers 1 and 2 win this weekend, then according to the system they will have the right match up. I might be wrong, but like I sad, don't really follow CFB
I gotta go with N. West Virginia vs USC. I just think right now, they are the 2 best teams. They're both peaking at the right time, and they both have great offensive weapons and I think it would be an exciting game.
Gotta go w/ A. I. or N. for pure entertainment value.
Of course C. or G. would be my "homer" top shelf.
I agree that OSU would have trouble with White & the WVU spread. The history is there. My hope is that OSU has been working on their schemes for defending the spread, as that seems to be the only thing holding back from being dominant. Illinois played the perfect game v. OSU and got the win. Most of William's ball control runs in the fourth quarter were right up the gut. It wouldn't happen again. People who think OSU is slow are not paying attention or haven't seem them play. The score in the Michiogan game was not indicative of the actual game. UM had 91 yds of offense and OSU said "we are running the ball" in the second half (two passes) and UM couldn't stop them. OSU does not have an overly dynamic offense, but it can hurt an opponent very quickly. The WVU defense is vastly improved, so I think the Mountaineers would win a match-up with OSU, but then again they haven't played against a defense as good as the Buckeyes all season.
Now that most of the season is in the books, it is obvious that LSU is not a dominant team. A very good team, but their vaunted D gave up way too many yards this year. In fact, teh SEC period quit playing defense this year. Either the offenses in the SEC are soooo good that nobody can stop them, or else their defenses are not as good as in recent years. OSU could beat this LSU team.
OSU will have trouble with USC in the Rose Bowl too, if that happens. OSU would have a good shot to beat Mizzou because they could pressure Daniels and
I want to see Mizzou and WVU make the title game. They are both non-traditional-powerhouse teams, and I don't want to see either of them lose because that would mean Ohio State would back into the spot that should rightfully belong to Hawaii.
The most entertaning, without a doubt would be LSU vs. USC. The 2 predominant powerhouses in College Football today. The ratings on the game would be through the roof, and we would finally settle this dispute ON THE FIELD! As for the best teams this year, I think you can argue LSU, USC, Missouri, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Ohio State. They truly seem to be the best of the best. But in my humble opinion, I still think that USC and LSU are the 2 best teams. But they won't play in the NC game this year. However, they still have a shot at playing one another in the Rose Bowl if OU beats Missouri this weekend. It would likely get better ratings than an Ohio State vs. West Virginia matchup. So I'll vote for J.
If I had my choice, and it's an impossible scenario, but what the heck, I will leave my SC bias out....Hawaii-Mizzou...now that would be an entertaining game!
I will write a BIO one day...quit pressuring me FOX!!!!!! Just Kidding. Much like everything else...don't have the time. Here's a preview...mar ried, 2 girls, one on the way. UK Wildcats. Oakland Raiders. Cincinnati Bengals. THE Ohio State Buckeyes. Kurt Warner. Randy Moss. My motto here as of lately, " Ahh, frig it! That's life, deal with it!"
