My UK Wildcats. My amazing UK Wildcats just knocked off the no. 1 team in the nation LSU at Commonwealth Field. Dropping from 8 to 17th in the rankings in a close loss at South Carolina. Well, we got NO respect.
CAN WE GET SOME RESPECT!
Now that I'm thinking somewhat clearer, I think America may now view this team as a power in the SEC. We haven't had this type of confidence in football from week to week in nearly 3 decades.
We deserve respect. We have earned respect. Football is about Polls. Don't blame me for that either. Now, don't drop us again 10 spots for a close loss. UK is a legit top 10 team when you compare them to any other team in the nation. Not a great defense, no. We make stops when we have to. Coach Brookes makes the proper adjustments at half-time and we get things done in the second half.
theformer88fanagain, that is not true!! If you watch what I write, I always root for the underdog!! i am tired of hearing about lsu, fla., auburn, georgia, in the sec! about time for kentucky, south carolina, and vanderbilt to step up tp the top of the sec!! I live in south carolina, so these teams are all I read about!! I wish ole miss. and miss. st. would get better as well!! Just like the pac 10, believe it or not, I am glad more teams are getting better, even if they do beat sc!!
Also, kentucky fans have class, unlike some other teams!! And as for the trojans, they have alot of injuries, and that is no excuse, because they have alot of talent that just isnt getting it done!! All I can do is hope they get better.

I think this is my first time reading your blog. I live in Frankfort & am a diehard UK fan. I was fortunate enough to be at the game tonight and was also at the Lousyville game. I've lost my voice twice this season. I hope I get to next week against Florida.
Always glad to see a UK fan blogging here! GBB!!

sup Elkhorn. Yeah, great win tonight. The Florida game should be a lot of fun. You going to that game also?
anyway, yeh, that is east ky. I think it's just me, but I was playing around with this map and when I placed it in the avatar box like this, I see what resembles a Stallion's head. Maybe I'm crazy, but I see it.
dont universitys read the sports pages??? LSU must not!!! and know the word UPSET!!! we have had ND beat UCLA, stanford beating USC!!!! and maybe others!!!! and here we have the #1 team in the nation!!! getting beat!!! yes by a #17th team .... but as long as ive been interested in sports... ive heard coaches say that ugly word upset... now parden my example ... you can get beat by a junior high team even though you might be the high school team!!!! now again im not taking anything away from the victors!!! its kool to see this.....makes it interesting....
Are they ranking this upset as one for the ages or something? Anyone that has watched UK Football this year knows, yes, it was an upset for sure. However, like I had commented earlier, it was suprising but not a huge suprise to the Kentucky faithful.
Our football team has made huge strides this year. Andre' and co. and Rich have fielded a team, several teams if you include all the injuries we've had over the past few weeks, that are worthy opponents and not ones to take lightly.
I'm also a realist. I'm not thinking national championship man.
Nothing wrong with being where us Kentucky fans are right now. Feeling the way we do about this team. There has never been this level of confidence about winning and UK Football since I and most UK fans have been alive.
I'm just a fan being fanatic.
Thanks for the drop in ed. Trust me, I don't need a reality check. The SEC is a weekly reality check.
former88 I didn't get to comment last night had to get some sleep befor I had a heart attack. So congrats to you and the Wildcats they played their #### off and deserved to win. Hope to see you in Atlanta.
I think this week is the first BCS poll. Let's see where UK sits in the BCS standings after that huge win last night! Man, it must've sucked having to have been at work watching the game. Hard to contain the excitement I'm sure!
I think you're right...if you look at your avatar closely it does look a little like a stallion's head. Start at Pike Co. as it's muzzle and work up the state line and I can see it. The yellow county just west of Pike (is it Knott?) you can throw out and then you can see it. Pretty cool!
what a great win! i hope the bcs puts lsu below you....if you get screwed by them i would be ticked. what a fantastic win...you exposed lsu's offense. and your D!!! wow...what a great stand...it's what champions are made of.

It's as they say respect has to be earnt before it's given. And by beating the LSU Tigers that's what you've done. You've actually earned the respect of others. But now let's see what the pollsters and coaches make of it all. We've got the same problem down here in C Florida with the USF Bulls. Now ranked at #5 they're being treated as if they're wicked stepchildren.
Who'd have thought we'd see the top two teams in the college game fall by the wayside on the same day ? And as inexplicable as it was you can't say that it was really unexpected.
I would say that we have a great D. At the first of the season I said that was our weakness but now....they get the job done and isn't that is what it is all about? I have a permanent smile on my face!!
I am so happy to have added another WildCat fan to my favs!! HUGS 88!
Lisa you have brought up an excellent point. Yeah, we aren't great on D. But we have heart. This year, except for the SC game, when we needed a big hold, we got it.
tophatal: USF deserves everything they have earned. And with that a whopping no. 2 in the initial BCS rankings. Wow. Bet you guys never saw that coming at the beginning of the season.
We got our respect. I thought we should be a top 10 team, and we are.
I read in the Frankfort State-Urinal(Journal) newspaper that Frankfort High School's EJ Fields has committed to UK for next season. He's a 6'3" 180 pound QB, but is going to switch to WR. He's also a 2 time winner in the 400 at state track. He committed after the LSU game and chose UK over Louisville, Wisconsin, Purdue, and a couple of others. Looking forward to seeing a local boy wear the blue and white with pride.
I will write a BIO one day...quit pressuring me FOX!!!!!! Just Kidding. Much like everything else...don't have the time. Here's a preview...mar ried, 2 girls, one on the way. UK Wildcats. Oakland Raiders. Cincinnati Bengals. THE Ohio State Buckeyes. Kurt Warner. Randy Moss. My motto here as of lately, " Ahh, frig it! That's life, deal with it!"
