Well, that was a rather interesting race...lots of things I could talk about from it but they've all been talked out so I won't bother. Carl Edwards took the win, and the ten points that come with it, actually none of the top five drivers from last week scored any points at all.
Carl acknowledges his many fans down in my part of the world...ok, maybe not all that many then
No change at the top as Jeff Gordon keeps his five point lead over Jimmie Johnson with Tony Stewart a further 17 back.
Tez's NASCAR Race Championship (TNRC) Standings - after round 28
(* denotes half points only awarded as race did not reach 75% completion)
Well, as I've said before, it looks like the title will come down to Jeff, Jimmie or Tony...the smart money would be on Jeff but if there's anyone who can catch on fire on the 1.5 mile tracks, it's Jimmie and there's five such tracks in the Chase.
No, I haven't included any penalties given out by NASCAR....my points are based purely on what happens on the track. That means that Ryan Newman will be credited the points for qualifying second today since I've already got the points ready, lol
I wasn't sure exactly how to do the penalties so I've just elected to ignore them....possibly a silly move but hey, the drivers work their butt's off in the car so I'm not going to dock them for something they didn't do :P
Wait. In the distant I hear a rumble getting louder. It is Biffle charging to the front. Then there is Kenseth right on the tails of the top 3. Can these two Rosh drivers over take the leaders?

Tez is a rare creature; an Australian who was living in New Zealand before moving to Canada. He's also a Civil Engineer who is hoping to spend his Monday to Friday sitting in front of a computer surfing the inter...uh, working hard for an Engineering Consultant or Contractor when he finds a job. His heart is torn between his two loves; F1 and NASCAR.
Due to his high interest in those, his blogs will likely focus on them with the occasional foray into sports that don't get much (if any) mention on this website. All blogs and/or comments will more than likely have his usual dollop of sarcasm and general Aussie spin on them.
Amazingly, he also managed to score 2 MiB nominations on consecutive days (August 5 & 6, 2007) after announcing he had been keeping track of them...he's considering hiding under his bed as a result.
