Belmont Stakes-  A Horses' Arse Tale

With all the talk about the possiblity of the first Triple Crown in 30 years by Big Brown if he wins this Saturday's Belmont Stakes race, it seems a lot of the other horses have been left out of the spotlight. Lets take a lil looksey at a few of them and see why.

First We have Rocket McZee starting in the #2 post. This Horse is sponsored by Stankees Porta-Lounge, a small personal relief company in the New Dork area. He comes in at  7-2 odds. He would likely be the favorite over Big Brown if not for his owner Hank Stinkbreaker's questional training techiques and the competition committee's concerns over performance enhancers. McZee almost didn't make it to the Belmont after a roadside bomber in Bostone tried to take out his trailer.

His scheduled jockey is Douglas J. Needles from the Back To The Future Trilogy. Needles and McZee have been together their entire careers.

Next, starting from psot 3 is Burro Cinco. This fiery horse is sponsored by Big Mouth Bubble Gum and is currently seeking a new stable to reside in. He is not happy with the hay and oats supply his current owner provides.

Rumour has it that Burro Cinco's  new jockey, Gary "Pimp Daddy" Coleman is interested in buying this horse and using it for his security detail job at Cincinatti Correctional Facilty, but nothing has been confirmed yet..

Starting from the #4 post we have Terell Oatsins. He will sport the 81 and be sponsored by Romobaucher Extra Butter Popcorn.  His trainer says he prefers to be called Oatsey, because of his similarities to last year's Derby winner Rundy Grass.

Jockeying Oatsey will be Quack-man Bones. Bones  was previously abolished from all Horse Racing activities after an incedent with another trainer at the 2006 Hentucky Derby. The identity of this man was not realeased but we have an exclusive photo proving it was ex Superjockey Barles Chalkley.

Originally from  the #5 post, we had a surprising new horse named Wyle-D-Squish  sheduled to make his first Belmont start.

However, during training earlier this week  the Squish got upset for some strange reason after dominating all other horses in practices and had an accident with another SuperHorse's transportation. It still isn't known who was at fault for the accident, but Squish will not recover in time for this year's Belmont.

Replacing Wyle-D-Squish in the 5 post will be a horse making his first major staks race. Rambo Splice. This horse is relativley unknown. He was voted in by thousands of horse racing fans  from YouBube, which decided to become his sponsor after all the attention this upstart horse brought the popular website.

His jockey in the Belmont will be Hay Bakin.  Bakin was also an unknown before he got his chance with the Simon Cowell Equestrian Center. Many believe this horse and rider combo will be one and done in this sport.

Earlier today, the popular Foxblog and NASCAR racing team from GGW was spotted attempting to get to the track to set up  their Gorillas Gone Wild vendor tent. The Superstar race team seems to show up at all major sporting events since GGW co-founder Photogr earned the democratic nomination for the presidential race over his heavily favored opponent Billary Squinton. Also tagging along with the entourage was famous NASCAR driver Tony Screwert of Baby Bibbs Racing,  rumoured to be a transgendered racer in disguise with  GGW under the alias name of Frank. Trust me , i know this rumor is not true. I cant get Tony to where heels for anything.

However, the two Clydesdales, Shasqueel the Hill and Cloneby Giant, were not able to pull together on the same wagon and the GGW team was stranded without a horse to pull them to a horse race. Go figure!

After an inside look at the rest of the field for what looks to be a very exciting Belmont Stakes, i'm certain there are plenty of horses or horse's A-s-s-es  that have a strong chance to win the Belmont this weekend besides the Media doll Big Brown. With this field of violent horse power, it could be one of the best high-stakes horse races ever run. If anything, the post race race interviews should be well worth the wait.

Thanks for reading-Cuda

Return To Foxdom
Jan 10, 2008 | 10:26PM | report this

I just wanted to let everyone know it's good to be back. I was away from Foxblog for a month plus a few to help a friend out. I've noticed some new bloggers generating some attention. Thats always good to see.  I also noticed BOTD and some other things are missing.  I won't even ask why.  I've been told i didn't miss too much due to a "Whoops" issue that had everything around here in a state of chaos for a while. Again, I won't even ask what that was all about.

I'm sad to say my first day back to the site, i received news we lost our wonderful, sweet friend, Southern Cindi. God bless to all those who helped her in her struggles. I know she had a lot of friends on this site and she was one of those people that we all strive to be like. She will be sorely missed and can never be replaced with all that she gave to the Foxblog community and the frienships she made here. My heart goes out to all those that posted wonderful tributes to her memory and to anyone who was blessed to know her.

Basically, with this post i just wanted to say It's nice to be back, and I look forward to catching up on some of the great work people contribute to this site.   It's been a while since i've posted but hopefully i'll have a few things up for my NFL and NASCAR friends fairly soon.

I'm working on a sequel to the STAT WARS NFL piece i did in November that everyone enjoyed. Hopefully i won't embarress myself and it will be even better than the first one.

I'm also working on some new posts for NASCAR. One gearing up for the Daytona 500 and the start of the '08 season and another just for my friends at GGW racing. Yeah those crazy folks in the Gor*rilla suits. Their kindness and creativity is unmatched by very few.

Anways, just wanted to let everyone know i'm back and I appreciate the emails and Welcome Back's  that i recieved from some of the great people here.

Leave a comment, a cold beer, or some hate mail. Whatever floats your boat. It's all good.

Thanks for stopping by.

DEI Doomed?
Oct 28, 2007 | 3:34PM | report this

After DEI's struggles this year with engines, and the announcement that Dale Jr. would be leaving to go to Hendricks after '07, things have gotten even worse for Dale Earnhardt Incorporated.   This past  week Director of Competition Steve Heimel announced he was leaving DEI as well to join Chip Ganassi. 5 years ago, DEI was still considered one of the top teams/companies in NASCAR.   How Quickly things have gone bad since the loss of Dale SR, and fankly, the loss of true direction and leadership at DEI.

Today's race showed us Nothing can go right for DEI these days.

Martin Truex had a great car all day running as the leader and hanging around the top 5.   With 5 laps to go, after the final pit-stop, Denny Hamlin , who had stayed on the track for postion as everyone else pit, ran out of gas on the restart. Truex, who was boxed in behind him,  slammed into the back of Hamlin, and his day was done.

Then Dale Jr who also had a strong car most of the day and had worked hard to fight from a lap down to make it all the way back up to 3rd place behind JJ and Carl Edwards,  losses his left rear wheel on the Green/White/checker restart without any contact except the asphalt beneath him.

We've  seen blow outs and track bars break,  or damage caused from hitting another car cause top 5's all year for Dale Jr. to end up as DNFs,   but for the whole wheel, tire, and all to just fall off, is ridiculous. Surely he had all the lugnuts on or NASCAR would have brought him back in after the pit.  DEI's engines falling to peices all year, and now the wheels are breaking apart.?

What a mess!

Junior finally released some of his frustration earlier this week about having top 5 cars all year, and so many freak things turning this year into a Big dissapointment.

Here' s  the link courtesy of Fox and Associated press to Dale Junior's take on how '07 has gone for his team:

http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/7379792

With DEI's  luck this year, and obvious issues in the garage,  maybe its time to just park the cars, send Teresa to the Antarctic, and rebuild the company from the ground up.. Or better yet, sell it to Richard Childress.                                           DEI is a mess and I only see things getting worse as Junior moves to Hendricks after this season ends. You have to feel bad for Truex. He's stuck in a bad situation now that only looks to get worse.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Blows Another Engine
Oct 07, 2007 | 2:07PM | report this

Dale Earnhardt, Jr. blew his 6th  DEI/RCR engine of the year in today's race. Along with him were teammate Martin Truex Jr and Richard Childress driver Jeff Burton blowing up using the same engine package.

I'm betting Dale can't wait to get some Hendricks horsepower. Every single time he has had a car good enough to win this season, it's gone up in smoke because of motor troubles.

Talk about bad luck.  Your thoughts?

Toyota Compacting Their Approach?
Oct 06, 2007 | 1:42PM | report this

Watching qualifying today for this weekend's  UAW Ford500 at Talladega, the one thing that stuck out to me was all the Toyotas at the top of the qualifying board.

7 of the top 10 starting positions will be Toyotas, with one Ford, one Chevy, and one Dodge mixed in.

I would  imagine a lot of chase drivers taking a conservative approach in qualifying to have a better race setup has a lot to do with it, but  13 of the top 15 drivers are go-or-go-homers this week, and no Toyota will be starting in worse than 9th.         Michael Waltrip getting only his 4th career Pole in 686 races is evidence that most of the "Big Boys" are sandbagging, but  C'mon, this was ridiculous.

Is Toyota putting all their eggs in one basket and suddenly trying to focus only on restrictor plate races?    I doubt  it!

Or was this week's qualifying efforts a perfect example of chase drivers and top 35 points drivers just going through the motions and focusing on preparing the car to run better for the long haul.    Likely!

It just strikes me as odd that Toyota has such a different apporach than the rest of the manufacturers for this race, and that the other "All-American Racetrack" this side of Daytona will very few American cars in the top 5 rows when the green flag waves.

You be the judge. Your thought and opinions on the race are appreciated.

Back On Track!
Oct 02, 2007 | 6:34PM | report this

When i returned to Blogsville today  and discovered that some here had suggested i was missing or lost, i decided i should post an expanation before i get back into the swing of the sports happenings.

First off,   Forensic, This was not me.         I've read several reports that someone saw Bigfoot in the woods and suggest it was myself or another missing blogger.  You were almost right though !

I was doing at Test Session over a month ago for GGW Racing and got hold of some of that  so-called quality Moonshine  which i thought was iced tea. It turned out to be Waltrip racing fuel, and by the time i woke up i was in the Bahamas with the hot blonde girl with a guy's name.

Let's just say that Frank Tixpiddle knows how to party! That bikini is all the poor girl owns.

  photogr's pops

I also got to know Photogr's sister really well during my vacation.  His dad wasn't a very happy camper when he found out about this, and I hope Photgr is in a good mood before he sees it.(I don't remember any of it.)

It took me 3 weeks to remove  the #### race suit. Damn Forensic! You owe me Man!

While on the Beach recovering from my hangover with some Ben-N-Jerry's,   I  was approached by photgr's agent and decided to do a few cameo peices in some movies so the loss of racing for GGW hasn't hurt me financially.

Snoop Can really act when he drinks Forensic's moonshine (Now showing everywhere, if you have a GGW Racing special edtion multipass.)

Don't i look like photogr?   (Soon to be released in 3 countries in the South Pacific)

Sneak Preview. (And It wasn't my #### suit that got her all hot and sweaty)!

Unfortunatley Miss Tixpiddle and I are no longer together as I discovered a bit of chemistry while shooting Kong 2 with the sultry and gorgeous Naomi Watts. I would still  like photogr to be the best man if he can forgive me for the thing with his sis.

I have contacted official at Gorillas Gone Wild Racing as asked to be re-instated on the team.

Still waiting for contact from the team.

Actually, enough of the ####-business.        :)

Truth be told, my internet company went out of business and it thas taken this long to get service back out here in B.F.E.

I've spent the time watching Football, more football, and more football so it's all good, and my Cowboys are tearin' it up so far.

Did I miss anything exciting in NASCAR or football blogs?

Congratulations to Klvalus on winning the writer challenge. Great Job Kristen. and I finally got ur message( 2 week later LOL). Kval was my first round fav and good to know she beat out some tough opponents. Can't wait to read more.

What happened Hottiefoot? You got yourself and new profile pic,  and some enemies since I've been gone?  Should i put GGW whooping on anyone for you? I didn't realize you've become such a bad-#### since I've been gone. Hanging around Klval too much huh?  LOL

Lisa H? is that lisa4USC?   Different name and different pic, but same results. always in the BOTD boxes. Guess that busy girl hasn't slowed down any.

Anyways, Glad to be back, and anxious to see whats been up in the Blogisphere while i was away. Will be good to chime in on a few NFL and NASCAR stories and rants again. It's been awhile so i apologize to all those who i usually comment and read and those who stop by to read my posts. I'll try to get back into the swing of things ASAP.

NASCAR Celebrating The Past This Summer
Aug 16, 2007 | 6:32PM | report this

NASCAR ,  is turning to the CAR of Yesterday instead of the Car Of Tomorrow, for a limited time in a few upcoming races to celebrate a few legends of American cultural history .

This weekend at Michigan , many chevy drivers will feature special paint schemes to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the American classic 1957 Chevy.

The 57 Chevy Belair is an icon in the world of classic car enthusiasts.  The older it gets, the more sought after this legendary car is.  The 57 Belair in the pic above was completely restored by my own little brother and sold last month for over $14,000. Not bad for a car that originally cost around $2000.

Even at 50 years old, the '57 Chevy is a legend.  I'm sure every car fan has met someone that once owned or wished they had owned a great  peice of american automotive  history   like the famous Belairs of the 50's.

The Car Johnson will run at Michigan this weekend

The car fans would rather see Jimmy in.

Notice the painted on rubber bullets on JJ's car.  Can u imagine If they could run the actual car instead of a paint scheme emulating it?

Try bump drafting with those  giant rubber bullets on the bumpers of the original 57's. I'd hate to see Robby Gordon or JPM with that extra support in the front.

A few more 57  pics:

Eanhadrt Sr. 57                            A "Smokin" 57                       American Muscle

Also  on Sept. 8 at Richmond,  Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s car will feature an Elvis Presley-inspired paint scheme for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400. The design was unveiled this week during the ceremonies surrounding the 30th anniversary of Elvis' death.

Video of the unveiling:  http://video.ap.org/v/i/vlbg.gif

Seems to me Kyle Petty should be the one to carry this honor and tribute to " The King" of Rock-n-Roll, since his fathwer Richard Petty was "The King" of NASCAR,  but Junior is the most popular driver, so its fitting that he will drive the Elvis inspired car..

It's always nice to see a tribute to the past from NASCAR epsecially in a time when everything points towards the future and the Car Of Tomorrow.  Elvis and the 57 Chevy are definately  good choices as legends  from the 1900's.

NASCAR: This And That - FoxBloggers and Their COT Designs (PART 2)
Aug 11, 2007 | 8:57AM | report this

Continued from NASCAR: This And That- FoxBloggers and Their COT Designs (PART 1)

Sorry Folks. Couldn't fit everyone into one post.

And now for the rest of the NASCAR Foxblogger designs for the Car of Tomorrow.

This:      Dave_in_Indy is a diehard Indianapolis Colts fan, recently turned COT designer.

That:    His creation greatly resembles another famous Colt with a Pony interior and a few extra horses under the hood.

This:      1steelerfan1---- After rejecting his pal Ben Roethlisberger's suggestions for the COT for obvious reasons, Steelersfan decided on a four wheeled version.

That:    Due to the fact that NASCAR requires drivers to actually wear their helmets when racing, Big Ben has since resigned from steeler's COT development team to focus on throwing interceptions, i mean ideas, around   to Dave_in_Indy's team .

This:     williamwilman is responsible for bringing us the weekly racing Trifecta .

That:   His Design fittingly suggests the Tri-Perfecta-Car.

This:    lisa4usc is a huge fan of college football and the USC Trojans.

That:    Unfortunately the folks at NASCAR wouldn't allow "Traveler," the Trojans mascot, as a COT entry. (USC graduates, for some reason, don't understand that horsepower  means something different than one single horse).

This:    KatzRacinMind is always using her mind to create interesting and well thougt   posts on her blog.

That:    This time, she may have let her mind roam a little too much on her COT design.

This:     volfan69 is a big fan the University of Tennessee.

That:    All of the great thinkers at UT have spent years creating a COT design. However, with a graduation rate of only 58 precent, this was all they came up with.

  This:

1hotnascarchic - New here, but the male bloggers seem to like her.

That:    We males can only hope this is her COT and pitcrew, and that this team is hiring.

This:     chuxtory is known for his Lugnuts Radio .

That:   He might have gotten a little carried away with self-promotion for his blog on his COT design.

   This:

Texascudaguy-Well i'm obviuosly a Mopar fan, hince the word cuda in my name.

That:   NASCAR wouldn't allow me to have this kind of Barrucuda as a possible design, so I decided to go with the hemi version instead.

Some of you may be expecting a call from Mr. France regarding your designs. If your car is selected, please send 40 percent of your earnings in the form of cashiers check, money order, or cash to:

The Save The Cuda Foundation.

  1. If your car is not selected, blame it on Fox. but still send the money. :P

Hope You enjoyed reading a little of This And That.

NASCAR: This And That- FoxBloggers and Their COT Designs (PART 1)
Aug 11, 2007 | 5:51AM | report this

Foxsports' NASCAR bloggers have all submitted their own ideas for a better version of the Car Of Tomorrow. Some were considered by Mr. France and the gang, and were almost implemented this year before the current COT was decided upon. Let's take a look at the cars submitted by our local NASCAR experts.

Part 1 of 2. If you aren't on this post see the second one.

This:   JayJayDean Have u ever seen this guy write a short post in his blog? His writing seems to extend forever so a extended version of the COT is the right call.

That:   JayJay's ideal COT is the longest one available, just as his blogs are.

This:    Tezgm99 The Trans-Tasman Traveler is an Aussie, and Australia is well known for it's Outback.

That:    Tez takes it a step further with the Subaru Outback sponsored by Outback Steakhouse

This:     ccr1d3r. His Black Flag Outpost blog brings us humor and a different perspective on racing.

That:    Only fitting he would suggest a black car to match his blog, and the Batmobile is the most famous black car of them all.

This:     deemon55 is known to be a huge fan of alternative fueled vehicles and the extreme high performance machines.

That:      How does 376mph in a deisel powered Peterbilt sound for some X-treme high performance action? His Car of Tomorrow is FAST FAST FAST! but it has a little trouble cornering.

This:    Earnhardt fans, Forensic2, 8Jr8fan, and klvalus teamed up to develop a COT that would pay tribute to Big E and Lil E

That:    However, with so many Earnhard fans around, there was no way the car would hold the whole crew, so they decided on a truck version instead..

This:   xbulrdr8  is a big fan of the outdoors, but his original COT idea just didn't catch on for some reason.

That:  He has recently given up and joined forces with the Earnhardt Talledega research team, while breweing his own beer in his mobile unit.

This:     turnlefttony , Tsfanpc , TonyStewartFan - These Tony Stewart fans were only able to fund half a team, becuase the Eanrhardtsters stole most of their money for spare truck tires and new wood for xbuldr's mobile headquarters.

That:   Maybe they can get the Earnhardt fans a deal at Home Depot on lumber, so they can afford to develop the rest of their car.

This:     mudminnows is very attimate about expressing his love for the old days of NASCAR.

That:    His selection would be the COY, Car of Yesterday, instead of Car Of Tomorrow.

This:    HotfootLori - Have you ever wondered where she got that name?

That:   Now we know why they call her Hotfoot!       She got her start in NASCAR research working with mudminnows  to bring back the original NASCAR car design.

Hope she has some good shoes.

This:    photogr 's original concept was very popular with his GGW(Gorrilas Gone Wild) race team, but never caught on with the NASCAR executives.

That:   He has since moved on, using his fame to start a new business in sales.

This:    IowaGirl --The state of Iowa is the largest corn producer in the United States. She has an unlimited supply of parts for her COT concept.

That:   Unfortunately she seems to lose all her backup cars when harvest season comes around.

This:      All Revved Up has great body designs for his COT. The problem is, his engines continue to fail before he can actually complete any tests.

That:    Maybe a Revv limiter would solve his over Revving issues.

This:    14Falcons'  posts, quiet often, are about Sterling Marlin. He loves to comment on this guy, sometimes even to the point of rambling about him.

That:    Rambling about Sterling Marlin? Hmmm , Maybe a 1966 Rambler Marlin is the only choice here.

NASCAR : This And That - The Great History Of Daytona
Jul 28, 2007 | 11:41PM | report this

Great Moments In the History of the Daytona 500

Organized racing on the sandy beaches of Daytona began as far back as 1900. The first timed event was an event sanctioned by the American Automobile Association in 1903. The top speed was 68mph.  Until the early 1930's, it was mainly known as a place where racers would go to attempt world speed records.

However, as the speeds grew, The 500-feet-wide beach at Daytona was considered too narrow to accommodate the higher speeds,  and the Salt Flats of Utah became the premiere place for racers to attempt these records. Local racers and boot-leggers still used the Daytona Beach road course  as a popular place for unsanctioned races, and showing off their driving skills.

This:

In 1936, the city of Daytona and the AAA hosted it's first stock car event at Daytona Beach . Milt Marion from Long Island, N.Y. won the race in a ’36 Ford. A local Daytona mechanic named Billy France finished 5th in that race.

Big Bill France on the beach at Daytona for the first-ever Stock Car race there in 1936.

In 1938, the city asked Mr. France to take over the course, because of his knowledge of the history of the area and the speed records set there.

Stock car( back then "stock" meant stock, as in Granny's ford coupe) racing had little successs in the 40s.    Race promoters would often steal the money before drivers could get paid.   With World War II coming along, France and other racing leaders fought hard to keep racing in Daytona.

That:

In late 1947, France called together some major players (drivers, mechanics, sponsors, and so on)from the stock car racing scene.

Together they forged the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) on February 21, 1948.

The Series would be known as "Strictly Stock" before being changed to the "Grand National" series in 1950.    In the spring of 1954, NASCAR became the stock car sanctioning body. France went to Daytona’s town leaders and said, “If we want to keep motorsports and the thriving economy that it brings in the Daytona area, a speedway needs to be built.”

His main  argument was that the changing ocean tides maid it too difficult and dangerous to race safely in the  cars on the beach course.

The rest is history—The Daytona International Speedway was built and the Bill France legend had begun.

This:

The inaugural Daytona 500 was run at the Daytona International Speedway in 1959. In that first race, 59 cars started and 30 finished.  Lee Petty won the race in a ’59 Oldsmobile. For three days after the race, they didn’t know if Lee Petty or Johnny Beauchamp was the winner. Officials asked the fans for any photos they had of the finish, and finally 61 hours later, Petty was declared the winner.

The famous finish.

That:

Lee's son, Richard Petty,  also drove in that first Daytona 500. Driving a ’57 Oldsmobile, he started in Sixth Place but finished 57th after his engine blew eight laps into the race.  Richard would go on to become the most successful driver American stock car racing has ever seen.
The "King" of NASCAR,  Richard Petty.

One of the most famous drmatic moments in NASCAR history ocurred during the 1976 Daytona 500.

This:

A classic battle between "The King" and David Pearson produced one of the most incredible finishes in auto racing. Both drivers had dominant cars, and stretched a huge lead over the rest of the field with speeds over 190 mph nearing the end of the race.

That:

Coming out of turn 4 on the final lap,   Petty had ducked low and passed Pearson but his car slightly drifted up the track and the two drivers touched and crashed. When both cars came to rest in the tri-oval
