Hey Folks. As some of you know, our fellow blogger and friend klvalus was selected to do a series of articles in NASCAR for Fox after the great job she did winning the Miller Lite Sportswriter Challenge here recently. She has been gracious enough to keep us up to date on her exeperience through a Journal on her blog, and Fox has finally posted her first of several featured articles. Congrats again to Kristen, and the hard work she put into the contest, and the well deserved rewards she is recieving.
Kristen and her Dale Jr. Bears
Her first article is about the NASCAR experience behind the scenes from a fan perspective.
Please stop by the above link and give Kristen a read and some props for a job well done. She's too bashful to post a link here on the blogs, so i thought i would just do it for her(please don't run me over witha Bud #8 Chevy Kristen) She deserves every bit of it. Awesome job on the article and we are proud of you.
yeemum- its a great read even for those who arent NASCAR fans. She deserves a bigger stage for all the work that got her to this point.
Im' sure she's busy trying to get back into the groove of her normal job, and wanted to make sure she gets noticed.
I went to the article and tried to post a comment but my computer got cranky and the comment never posted.
So, I'll just offer up my conrgats ot Kristen here.
Way to go! Excellent job in giving the reader a sense of what it is like around the track. Agreed that NASCAR does a fantastic job of reaching out to fans and making them feel like they are truly a part of the sport.
Ah-ha! Yes, I see the comment did make it onto the comment section for Kristen's article. I kept getting an error message when I tried to post it. I figured it my computer was just acting up. Man, I'll never figure computers out!
Again, thanks for posting the link. It's a great article!
I didn't see anything to bash. Was a good take of her experiances there. I hope she has a blast. It's been years since I went to indy.. now I miss it all again.
Texas,
Glad you posted the link, I was wondering where K's article was.
Kristen,
Congratulations! A wonderful article that takes the fan into a world many are not familiar with. I could feel the rumble of engines and smell the gasoline!
Michael...I did not have media crendentials last weekend (mix up between Miller and Fox) so I only had the hot pass. I hope to be in the drivers meeting for the final 2 races as I now have the media creds.
KLV - Yes, I'll be watching extra closely this week to catch a glimpse of you on camera during the prerace activites. Didn't you mention in a GGW post that you are a Rachal Ray look alike?
I saw Marty's blog, and caught your pic. Now we can get video? Oh man I think the old pron nerve endings are tingling hahaha
Seriously, have a blast. All of us would give an appendage to be doing what you are.

Big fan of humour, but will occasionally chime in on serious subjects as well.
Appreciate quality writing and grammar, and commend it, but will not hold it against those who don't excel in those areas.(I'm definitely nowhere close to perfect either.)
Please stop by anytime if the subject intrigues you. Your opinion is always appreciated.
