Dale Earnhardt, Jr. blew his 6th DEI/RCR engine of the year in today's race. Along with him were teammate Martin Truex Jr and Richard Childress driver Jeff Burton blowing up using the same engine package.
I'm betting Dale can't wait to get some Hendricks horsepower. Every single time he has had a car good enough to win this season, it's gone up in smoke because of motor troubles.
Talk about bad luck. Your thoughts?

good point broomy. I remember someone posted a wghile back about the different chevy engines teams are using, and the difference between the ones that Hendrick leases to other team and the ones they run on their own cars.
Maybe one of our local experts will stop by and clarify for us.
Mean..LOL don't get so excited. I never knew you were such an avid NASCAR fan.
Your boy Gordon should give Stewart some props for that win. WAS oine heck of a push he gave him on the last lap enabling him to pass JJ, and the Dodge boys hung Tony out for it.
Nice Racing though!
Whoopee! YAY! Hurray! What a fantastic race. Great! Wondeful! Fantastic! Outstanding! Who would have thought that Gordon would have made it to the front after running in the back of the pack??? I mean really, that NEVER happens.
Those who know me, know how much sarcasm is in this comment. I don't blog about NASCAR anymore because it has become a joke. But sometimes I can't help myself and leave a comment or two. Sorry cuda for picking yours to leave one on. Good blog and funny cartoon.

Mean- I'll try to get by sometime and read it. As you know, while most of my posts are in NASCAR section, I probably comment more in the other areas than here. I put a blog up a few days ago titled "Why Do You Love Your Team" that was basically for everyone, but for some reason my blogs are only showing up in categories and not the comments or popular blog areas so you might have missed it.
blunt- All sports are more comedial than competitive these days. Sarcasm is always welcome with me. I'm guity of using too much of it myself at times.
Its true that inconsistency in NASCAR has become an issue, and a lot of fans have drifted away for that reason, but it cna't be that bad.. Its second only to the NFL in TV audience, and popularity.
If it wasn't for bad luck, Junior would have no luck at all.
Harvick and Bowyer were nursing their cars the last half of the race. They were fortunate not to have the engine go KABLOOM!!! Harvick's top 20 finish was a lesson in perseverance.
Mean, Smoke #### himself. Jeff Gordon had an unlikely draft partner in Dave Blaney. Congrats to Gordon and to Blaney for a third-place finish.
Tex- Don't forget the big RCR/DEI engine dept merger. Thats what produced those "stellar" engines today. I hope that merger doesn't screw up RCR too much and that Richie Gillmore recovers b/c they need his expertise...
As far as the move Jeffy G put on the field, classic...and Stewart didn't help him, trust me, Jeffy looked to have timed it just right that Tony had no where else to go but help. I think Tony missed his chance when he tried to block the entire track.
All in all a great race and none of the dire predictions came true about JV or the COT really...see told ya all it would be ok!
It is interesting that the NEW engine package apparently failed at this track. If I were a Chevy driver, I'd be really worried about Daytona. Do you run the old stuff or the new?
And I'd worry about Gibbs - Cronquist is getting the Toyota stuff that worked great at Talladega, and he has all the info on the new Chevy engine. Plus Gibbs runs well on restrictor plate tracks already.
Jon- Jr.'s luck, more times than not, involves mechanical failures. It will be exciting to see what he can do with Hendricks equipment. A lot of people in the sport have said DEI lost a lot of ground in the engine department after Dale Sr. died.
Kristen- Yep. I think it has hurt RCR more than it's helped them. Extra test data does you no good if you aren't applying it in the shop.
As for race, it was a great race, and a bit of a preview of what Daytona will be like next year.
Tex....ok, there must be a problem, you should be on the boards with this. I fired off an email to someone who can check into the problem, OK? Be patient hun. I'm doing my best. :P
Your post are showing up ok ( the fav. team one). Fox has been hit with some viruses lately that gets in when you up load a pic. Might have noticed they now hold it before attaching it to your profile.
Have been noticing some blogs posted on an article are not getting posted too. So I guess Fox will have to purge the system.
Odd that 5 RCR/DEI engines failed today or had issues. All were the new engine developed by Chevy.
Guess these engines don't like 9000 RPM for long races.
Now if they would just allow over head cams instead of the old push rod design now used you might see less of this.
Tex...just got an email back from Fox Admin...your problem has been solved! There was a snafu, and they fixed it and apologize for the inconvenience. Glad to be of service to a dear and trusted blogger...you rock! Let me know if there are any other problems!:)
Thank you again Lisa. I see it's working now. I thought i was gonna have to send photogr and a truckload of chimpanezzes to Fox headquarters to deal with it.
I Apreciate all the effort and help.
dam tape delay over here and I messed up by logging in to check something, and seen Cudas first few lines about Dale and others blowing up, It made watching the race less exciting knowing my man had gotten the white stuff put in his car again.
Oh well, and then the Indians played kick the ball around the out field. See you guys later in the afternoon, its 5:30 and the birds are starting to sing and black is turning to white. white that funny color.
Texas send me a letter on how to get pics on comments, Ive try a few times and it just gives the address and stuff but no pic. Thanks
Forensic-LOL Teresa wouldn't put sugar in Truex's car too. Now that would make no sense to take out her one shot at the championship.
I'll send you Fox mail. It's actually a lot easier (pics in comments) than you think.
Lisa- Stop by anytime, but bring bananas for photogr next time ok? He prefers Chiquita, but I'm sure you folks in Southern Cal have something edible that will suffice.

How many motors blew up ? how many races left ? You see they were suppost tobe Dale's motors for the rest of the season. They got switch around by mistake when joinning with RCR. LMAO !!
It could have happen cause the motors are the last thing to go into the cars for each track. Hey were are the motors for Jr's car ? Oh it don't matter they are all the same now, just take one from that pile and we will use them up. lol
If Dale has no motors blow the rest of season thats what happen.
I read that the joint facility isn't ready til after the season, so the engines are still made at DEI. This was the first race they used the joint technology though. They tested last month at Dega and blew up then. Ya think they would have been worried after the test. Guess they know the answer now. Time to get to work. Truex and Burton are pretty much done in the chase now. No reason to stick with this package.
oh. and forensic...as for your pic question, just copy the hotmail code from whatever site your pics are hosted on(photobucket works well for me) into your comment and thats all it takes.
