Houston Rocket's Fans in the lower bowl of Toyota Center
May 01, 2008 | 3:49PM | report this

You suck.  Not all of you, but about 40% of the fans in the lower bowl are worthless.  Leaving games early wether the team is winning or losing, wether it is close or a blow out.  I understand if the game is out of hand and you have to work the next day, but come on!  I was at Game 5 Tuesday night, when Houston just kicked some Jazz butt.  I know it was a blowout and a Tuesday night, your team just beat the hated Jazz in an elimination game.  and your leaving?  Doesnt make sense to me.  If the team forces a Game 7, win or lose.  You should give this team the respects it deserves and give them a standing ovation at the end of the game.  Win or Lose.

Go Rockets.

Utah Sucks!!!

Nice. Way to call out the Rockets fans.

It's not like they got traffic like we do in Los Angeles.

Even Lakers fans stay til the end of the game to hear Randy Newman sing "I love L.A"

Maybe they ought to start playing Elton John's "Rocket Man" after the Rockets win.

I left a Dodgers game early once.

I was pissed because the Padres scored four runs in the late innings in a tie game to take the lead.

The Dodgers then loaded the bases with no outs and blew it...didn't even score.

So I left...disgusted.

I'll never forget....a guy stood up and pointed at us saying, " Don't leave...it ain't over yet"

I mumbled under my breath, "yeah, right"

Turns out, they hit 4 straight home runs and Nomar hit a walkoff in the 11th inning.

I didn't find out until the next day.

Needless to say, I have never left a game early since.

What a tool.

I keep the ticket as a reminder.

nice post.

i have a VERY similar story as bleed's.

my dad took me to an Angels game when I was like 10 years old. Well, it was in the 13th inning, tied up, and about 11:45pm. I was tired and I had school the next day... so I begged my dad to leave. The Angels were playing the Giants, and it just so happened that Barry Bonds was my favorite player at the time. Just as we left the stadium we heard a big roar. We turned on the radio in the car on the way home, and it turned out that Bonds had hit a homerun that would eventually win the game.

I was crushed.

I haven't left a game early since.

A man I know, won tickets, at his office, to the first Spurs game against the Suns. He and his wife are not sports fans of any kind.

But heck, going to a Spurs playoff game is an event and they did not want to waste the tickets so they went. In the third quarter, when the Spurs were down by quite a lot, they decided the game was over and left.

That was the double OT game with Finley hitting a three in regulation to send it into OT and Duncan hitting a three at the end of the first OT to send it into another OT, and it literaly coming down to the last couple of seconds with Manu winning it with a contested layup.

Perhaps the best game that has been or will be played this entire season by any two teams, and they left in the third quarter.

Why oh why do people like this win tickets?

I wasn't at the game, but I disgustedly turned off the tv and stormed out of the room minutes before D Fisher ####ed down the infamous .04 second shot that sent the Spurs packing. My wife, who hates sports, turned on the tube to watch something else and started laughing because she saw it happen while I was slamming a beer. It aint over 'till it's over!

The real problem in the fourth is that the lower club level only allows alcoholic drinks in "appropriate areas" after the start of the fourth, so MANY of the lower seats get emptied as those fans migrate to the bars to finish watching the game and drink...... Still completely bush league though, drink after the game, or give your awesome tickets to me, and watch the game at a bar!
