The only possible reason that I can think of why Baron Davis was left out of the all star team is because of George Karl and Byron Scott's ill will towards Baron Davis and the Golden State Warriors. George Karl has a separate beef with the Warriors because he was basically ousted from here when he coached.
And we all know that Byron Scott hates Baron Davis but think about this, If Baron Davis didn't ask to be traded, Byron Scott wouldn't be coaching in the league and Chris Paul would not be on the Hornets.
This move is a blatant disrespect towards the Golden State Warriors franchise and their star player. These two fools for a coach finally got their revenge.
Not only is Baron Davis playing at an all-star level, he does far much more for the community of New Orleans than any player on the Hornets roster including Byron Scott.
Kudos to those fools of a coach (Karl, McMillian, Scott) for disrespecting the Golden State Warriors franchise and not recognizing anyone from the team.
Baron Davis is not the one to campaign for himself like some players(i.e, chris bosh) and he is the only renaissance man in the NBA. Here's a quote from Boom Dizzle:
As a coach, I don't blame Nate McMillan for campaigning for his player but making asinine comments about the Warriors and Baron Davis, especially when they won't even make the playoffs, is very very sad.
dude you have got to be kidding me when you say Baron Davis does more for the city of New Orleans than any current Hornets player. I am from New Orleans lived here 33 yrs. So you can go blow that smoke up someone elses rearend.
The only possible reason that I can think of why Baron Davis was left out of the all star team is because he DIDN'T RECEIVE ENOUGH VOTES TO MAKE THE TEAM. Starters are voted on by the public and In the case of the reserves, the head coaches must vote for seven players within their conference, including two guards, two forwards, a center and two players regardless of position.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but the only way Scott would have the ability to exclude Davis from the team would be by not giving him ONE coaching vote.
The public voted Manu and Tony Parker ahead of Davis as well, and they both didn't make the initial roster... So, that says something about the fan pulse
I love and respect Baron for his time at UCLA, but he just didn't get the votes.
Af far as CBosh, his "campaign" was more or less a joke. It was just him messing around with his brother. He had a really amusing attitude about it, and I wouldn't take anything from him because of it.

you must have friends in really high places to know who voted for who? Both Karl and Scott are not vendictive. Karl was the coach of the warriors in the late 80's. Baron was in middle school then. Get a grip. If Scott had a vendetta against anyone it would be Kidd, not Baron. I agree that Baron should have been on the team, but it took more than those 2 too make it not happen.
There might be something to this though. If Karl and Scott didn't vote for Baron Davis because of Baron's "scorched earth," then I'd add Jazz coach Jerry Sloan to the list of people who wouldn't vote for Baron. Baron was a total jerk, mugging his "friend" Derek Fisher in the Warriors' ouster last playoffs. Baron Davis was dirty and vindictive, and risked hurting opposing players.
Anyway, that is easily 3 NBA coaches who wouldn't vote for Baron, and that may have been enough to lose Davis an all-star reserve gig.
Strange how the fans of every team can see players on THEIR team that "clearly" should have made the team. Then they can't understand how everyone else can't see the same thing.
As a Spurs' fan, I am constantly amazed at the misconptions that fans of other teams have of some of the Spurs players. And I am sure that is true of fans of every team.
Fans just do not get to see every player on every team other than their own all that much. Homerism is to be expected.
Y'all are all hatersss!!!! it's funny. brandon roy aint got the wins, stats, or leadership of boom. Not even close. Its like comparing shaq in his prime to cherokee parks. Honestly, Boom should have been an all star. And it'll be more obvious when he leads the warriors to at least 1 10 win streak in the second half. It's kool though, keep disrepectin Oakland, we feed off that.
Teco,
You are right on point. Davis deserves to be an all-star and to be considered a MVP candidate. But, I like he is getting some rest. He has been playing a lot of minutes and needs some time off. The good thing is he is going to play with a chip on his shoulder. Let's hope we play the hornets in the first round.
