This was when he was a rehabbing pitcher coming back from Tommy John at the time of him using them. And this was like the umpteenth rehab in his last ditch effort to be a MLB pitcher, so can you blame him for trying something that is supposed to help him heal faster?
Dubious as this clinic or pharmacy thing is, he had a prescription from a doctor.
There was not a MLB ban on HGH in 2004. There was in 2005 and there’s no record of Rick receiving orders after 2004.
HGH has nothing to due with the 41 bombs he has hit in 470 at bats this season between AAA-MLB.
Because we understand that HGH does little to nothing in lieu of helping a player’s performance.
So la dee freakin’ da! I don’t see what the big deal is. All this is a big fat distraction and a pain in the arse for Ank and the Cards. I encourage you all to continue to enjoy Ankiel. This takes nothing away from his comeback story, in my own opinion.
We'll find out from the MSNBC pundits if it's legal to write a prescription for HGH as a remedy for Tommy John surgery. The guidelines on HGH prescriptions are tight, courtesy of Uncle Sam.
I love the Ankiel apologists who, not two months ago, were lambasting Bonds for only allegedly using what Ankiel (legally) used.
Hooray double standards!
Anyway, I'd like to know, TBIAH, how you know what the NYDN's motivation is for releasing this article on Ankiel. It isn't because it is a legitimate story regarding the hot-button sports issue of this decade.
And doesn't "being on someone's nuts" mean one entity is praising another too much? I.e "Peter King is all on Peyton Manning's nuts". Doesn't really make sense the way this guy's saying it.
Your just backing up a guy form your team. You aren't looking at the big picture like you usually do. You see a guy on your team that you like and you try and say that he did nothing wrong just becuase you're in love with all of your ga y a ss St. Louis teams he did something wrong admit it I know you like to think that your teams are god compared to all the other teams but they aren't. Ankiel used HGH and that was wrong, just like you said the Rams are going to win the superbowl this year it was just wrong.
There is nothing to apologize for. He did nothing illegal. This has nothing to do with Bonds. Look at Ankiel he is a average size guy. Not a guy who juiced so much the size of his head doubled.
I just posted on this situation. It was legal as you point out Tom, but I am willing to bet Barry had a prescription too. That is why they subpoened his medical records, and no conviction.
Ankiel did not grow a freakishly oversized skull or a comically over-muscled torso, as Barry Bonds did. As Steroids Era poster boys go, he looks pretty normal. He got stronger, but not unusually so.
