IF Brett Takes the cash.......These guys kill me Javon Walker, Shawn Andrews,Steve Smith
Aug 02, 2008 | 12:51PM | report this

If Brett takes the money over playing he's the biggest fraud to lace up a pair of cleats.Brett you cry and moan for a whole month claiming you want to continue playing, now the idea of  you

mulling over the 20 million or 25 million ,shows me you really don't want to play in the first place. If you want to play you turn down the money and insist to be reinstated pronto,if your intentions were to suck more money out of Green Bay for not playing your plan borders on genius.Shawn Andrews if your holding out for more cash ,I understand because humans are greedy by nature, but to sit home and say it's not about your contract, then somethings up,I read somewhere where you said it was personal well you had all off season to take care of personal business.Once again guys loose focus win they get too much money too early some of them anyway,if  he wasn't rich and worked as a truck driver he would take his personal problems with him on the road with him.Shawn remember if you live to be 70 years old your going to need money to live, for your sake you might want to stick it out a few more years so your pension is taking care of  and you put a way enough money to sit around for 40 years It's kind of hard going from 7 figures to 25k a year.

Javon Walker you want to retire go right ahead, and if you do decide to retire please go and get some help.it's evident mentally you are damaged goods, any man willing to give back 11 million in bonuses ,after a few bad practices something wrong.Javon practic e is for getting better you had a rough off season, give it time, maybe Al Davis can be a father figure to him,and help this guy out,but my guess he won't last more than a couple years the t in Oakland anyway.Young QB bad offensive line ,it may be a challenge to score points with consistency on offense anyway, and were aware of your diva ways ,so good luck.Steve Smith kicking your teammates butt isn't a good idea, especially a teammate that might help get you to the playoffs, and a player thats going to war for you ,not war but you guys know what i mean. You haven't met your match yet,but you keep punching guys in the eye eventually your going to catch a bad one.

Stephen Jackson smart for holding out one more injury and you will get a Kevin Jones contract .You might want to come to practice and go light, until the ink dries on a new deal can't fault you for hold out though.

Best Running Backs in the NFL
Jul 06, 2008 | 6:21AM | report this

Ladainian Tomlinson.a no brainer his body of work of over the last 5 years speaks volumes about the kind of player he is .He needs no preseason practice to be dominant,

Adrian Peterson, look for him to have a even bigger year, than last  if they get something out of Jackson ,and the passing game.

Larry Johnson when healthy is a workforce back, who is just as effective in the 4th quarter,as he is in the 1st quarter.

Stephen Jackson,is a big back who can catch the ball, and for a big guy has break away speed,in 2006 when he was healthy, his numbers were off the charts.

Maurice Jones Drew,if he didn't split time with Fred Taylor he would be a 1500 yard back ,50 reception,a  threat on kick offs returns,he is one of the strongest runners to come along in a while.

Brian Westbrook, great runner, great reciever,a threat to take it to the house every time he touches it,and plays hurt most of the time.Theres no   question about his toughness,he would be better if the eagles had a big play threat to stretch field.

Frank Gore enjoy him now because his running style ,is more Earl CAMPBELL than Barry Sanders, he wont be around long with the terrible offense he plays in in San Fran,he's always has been injury prone.

Clinton Portis, good back with still enough of break away speed, to go 60 yards on any carry,he should be better with the emerging Jason Campbell at qb,and a inventive offensive mind as head coach.

Willie Parker, lights out speed when healthy,a threat to to go house to house every time he touches it and he looks that way when he carries it.

Fred Taylor still effective still good for thousand yard seasons at 33 years old, still has break away speed.Very underrated. 10B. Joseph Addai

ALMOST BUT MAYBE IN 2009

Yes NO Marion Barber, strong and tough, you, need more   than one great year to make the list.

Brandon Jacobs i need better endurnance less time on the did not play due to injury list

Ronnie Brown more work please, same goes for Lawerence Maroney,

My Top 5 running backs
Feb 13, 2008 | 7:35AM | report this

With the scouting combines a little more than a week away, there will be a back that I haven't heard about who will run a 4.25 forty, bench press 225 30 times, and the NFL scouts will go crazy over ,but with a running backs you have to look at the tapes, most players look good in shorts and t shirts .Game tapes tell it all,you look at durability factor, the vision, the toughness between the tackles ,the burst, the ability to catch the ball, those are what I'm judging my  top 5 on.

1. Darren McFadden, has all the tools, he is durable, fast, great vision and he can catch the ball out of the back field,he will fumble from time to time and that can be fixed, the thing about Mcfadden is he hits the hole so fast ,and is a threat to go all the way on any play ,and he'll lower his shoulders and run you over.Let's not forget he can throw the football to.

2.Rashard Mendenhall is another back who can catch the football, runs hard and has homerun potential,if you watch the end to his runs he usually falls forward ,not backward so that says he is a very strong back,he carried Illinois on his back during the 2007 season. If he runs a 4.36 forty he may be a top ten pick.

3.Felix Jones,he has 1st round value because he can return kicks and punts,he can catch the ball,he may be the fastest back in the draft the only problem i have is his size 5''11 200 pounds i dont think he will be a every down back, in the NFL.He hasn't showed that he could be a every down back ,because he split time in college with McFadden.

4.Ray Rice,he's my  number 4 pick because if you watch his 1st carry of the game and then his 40th carry in that same game there is no drop off.He will run you over all day ,and scat outside for longer gaines he never gets tired ,he is the most durable running back I have seen in awhile,he played for Rutgers ,where he was the whole show on offense for them in 2007,yeah they had decent recievers, but he ran for 2000 yards carried the ball over 300 times against 9 man fronts. He just lacks the speed to take it to the house.

5.Mike Hart ,yeah he had a great offensive line, and you say  any back could gain a 1000 yards,at Michigan but Hart has good vision,he runs like every play is his last one and he his pain threshold is high ,he is good between the tackles and he is fast enough, one drawback is he is injury prone .He was very productive at MU

HONORABLE MENTION

Jonathan Stewart

What a Waste ,rb's who careers went up in smoke
Aug 18, 2007 | 3:40PM | report this

1.Duane Thomas was drafted by the Cowboys in the first round in the 1970 draft, even though he led the team in rushing with 803 yards he was a malcontent from the start,he helped the Cowboys win  Super Bowl 6, but he lasted 2 years with them and two years with the Skins before retiring in 1974.

2. Bam Morris was drafted by the Steelers, in 1993 and paid dividends from the start,  Bam  a load to bring down ,and quickness to match started getting into trouble in 96, with a guilty plea for marijuana possession,he was promply cut by the Steelers, after that Bam got another shot at Nfl glory with the Ravens but he could not stay clean  and was suspended for substance abuse,  then assault charges and the big one Drug T rafficing he played a grand total of 75 games. As of 2006 he was playing in Indoor Leagues.

3.Stanley Wilson Sr, Primarily used as a fullback  by the Bengals,he is known for his disappearing act  during Super Bowl 23,he was found in a shower  the day before the game on a cocaine binge,he never made it to the game ,he managed to play a total of 4 years he was suspended for the 1985 and 87 seasons, I believe  now he in Prison doing 22 years for burglary.

4.Lawerence Phillips, drafted 6th overall by the Rams,in 1996 he didn't last long,  lets say 2 years with the Rams ,and he was cut after refusing to attend a meeting,he started getting into trouble at Nebraska ,and he started piling up offenses more than yardage, assault, assault with a deadly weapon where he ran over some kids after losing a touch football game I believe he facing 20 years in Prison. He is one of the greatest college running backs of all time .He played for the Fins for two games ,CFL,49ERS, but trouble always followed

5.Ricky Williams ,Heisman winner,in  1998 drafted with the 5th pick by the Saints,World Class Talent ,but something happened along the way ,weed got in the way of  possibly a Hall of Fame career, after the suspensions, by the time 2004 rolled around Ricky retired from the Nfl,he wanted to travel the world  he said and smoke weed,he also practiced Holyistic Medicine in California, and he is reportedly a Hindu.Ricky came back in 2005 played 12 games and in 2006 failed another drug test and was suspended for the 2006 season .In 2007 he failed another test in April of 2007 ,there are other like Curtis Enis who got a check and seemed like he just didn't care anymore,Barry Foster had one outstanding year then got a new contract and promptly retired soon after Chuck Muncie could of played longer he had a nose problem,Mike Rozier, last I checked he was in his home town of Camden ,N.J wear he was shot not to long ago.

ARE DOGS MORE IMPORTANT THAN PEOPLE?
Jul 17, 2007 | 5:28PM | report this

I ask this because americians kill people on the regular and beat the charges or they use the crutch that there crazy.Hell I can rattle off case after case where people have killed people and said they were mentally impaired at the time. How about the lady in Texas , I believe she drowned all 5 of her kids and I believe shes in a mental hospital being observed.

How about the lady who shot her husband in the back, her husband was a preacher , I BELIEVED he wanted kinky sex with his wife ,and that was enough to set her off..She got no time. The nerve of the guy.

What about the inhumane way SOME Preist  treat lil boys, and they go from one church to the next to continue there inhumane ways. There not even charged with a crime, now  this brings me to Michael Vick.I believe he is guilty as sin but if he goes to prison for dog fighting you have to ask yourself is a dogs life more important than a human beings, what he is charged with is a crime I'm not debating that but ITS DOGS ,DOGS AREN'T PEOPLE,

THERE talking up to five years in prison  ,5 years for for transporting dogs across state lines and fighting. Some murderers do less time.Hell if you were white and killed a minorities  from 1860 up until 1970  and you hailed from a southern state 9 times out of 10 you wouldn't been charged with a crime at all.IF you think I'M  rambling look at the history,oh I forgot the justice department would open the case again 40 years later when the assailants were old or dead.

NOW you have the FBI and Congress trying to put famous athlete in prison for dog fighting ,this case is getting the same attention as O.J Simpson and you know what I DON'T KNOW IF jUICE DID IT,BUT I FEEL HE KNOWS WHO did it,and I believe he beat the charges once again is a dogs life just as important,as a humans because people kill people for all sorts of reasons and plenty of them beat the charges or get slap on the wrist.

BUT OUT CONGRESS
May 23, 2007 | 5:51AM | report this

OKAY the neighborhoods are filled with criminals, the schools are failing, the country is in war,gas prices are out of control, there is a health care crises, immigration, and you have a congressman looking to prosecute Mike Vick for his alledged dog fighting.Im at a lost for words, well not really, then it sounds like Congress is trying to bully the the local sheriff Goodell.

Yes dog fighting is wrong a felony, but this is a little too much,if half the players  were fighting dogs then you have a situation where congress should interact. This isn't the case but once again our government and it's officials are off base. This is totally different than steroids steroids is  wide spread through out baseball and the USA.

This congressman is trying to get props or #### points,or votes he probably could care less about dogs. There is too much going on in the USA , congress must be really bored if there going to put alot of effort in Michael Vick and his dog activities

Let the local authorities handle this investigation, and the NFL will make a decision on what the local authorities find out.Hey congress i live in nj and my property taxes are outrageous, can you investigate ,and there are businesses galore that pay taxes so whats up.Hey congress va vets need  upgraded hospitals can you investigate, hey congress  there are tons of illegals walking around looking for  work can you investigate,NO YOUR NOT BECAUSE THERE NAME IS NOT MIKE VICK .What a joke

CURT i Thought you were different....SCHILLING
May 09, 2007 | 4:43PM | report this

Curt ,I thought you would stand by your words about Bonds ,now I read that you were tired and you didn't know what you were saying.B.S

Curt , it's alright if you don't like Bonds, you have a right to say whatever you want you didn't yell fire in a crowded room ,you said the bozo Bonds didn't deserve to have the record and some other things.

WHY are you apoligizing, this is America Curt, Man up and stick to your convictions, now I look at you as a politicion,a man who is yellow ,just like Tim Hardaway, today everyone wants to be politically correct, there use to be a time when people voiced there opinions and didn't care what people thought ,people would be upset but they got over it.These people were admired for being passionate about a cause or there convictions.

BONDS IS A BOZO WHO DOESN'T WANT TO BE BOTHERED WITH FANS ,TEAMMATES ,COACHES but Bonds isn't a politicion

Im disappointed in you Curt, maybe you should run for president.

WHY IS EVERYONE ACTING LIKE RANDY MOSS IS CLUBBER LANG
May 02, 2007 | 4:09PM | report this

Real quick Randy Moss is a football player ,not Clubber Lang, all the so called sports writers are writing articles like this guy is that difficult.Yes he's a pain in the rear but he's not going to beat up the coach he may curse out the coach but thats it.He's not going to kill team chemistry because before that happens he''ll be cut.

I f he's a little difficult  then Randy will be on the run again after the season.

See in football a contract isn't worth the paper its written on the only money guaranteed is the Bonus thats it and Randy already took a pay cut, to come to New England,we all know Randy Moss is going to complain he always complains thats him ,but if you can get him to play at his peak he''ll put up Madden numbers, especially if D.Stallworth is healthy , thats really the key because if Stallworth is healthy who do you double, there both burners with big play capability.

Every article i read since the draft is can Belichick handle Moss ,there not fighting in the ring ,it's a coach trying to reel in a moody player who has a tendency to complain and under perform. No punches are being thrown New England got the better of the deal even if it blows up in there face they only gave up a fourth round pick to get him.

Moss is not Clubber Lang not even close.

Can we stop please

IS MIKE VICK A THUG?
Apr 27, 2007 | 6:01PM | report this

Is Mike Vick a thug disquised as a nice guy, drug raids ,illegal warehousing of 60 dogs some in good shape some not.The bottle at the airport, the blowing off of Congress, burning chicks and using fake aliases,is he a thug.

Now Mike is fingering his family in this episode but the bottom line it's his house, now if it was me and i had 4 or 5 houses i would try to check up on them especially if i got a cousin who is a felon living in one of them.IS he a thug, I say he isn't ,but a young black man with rappers as friends, diamonds , nice cars, and speaks a lil broken english from time to time might be labeled a thug. Then to top it off he plays quarterback in the NFL.

I feel he just doesn't use good judgement, for some reason he thinks he isn't in the public eye.Mike cut off all the problem people in your life,it's going to be hard because from what i read you are close to you family and you try to help them out,but in this climate it doesn't take much to be considered a thug, gold ,t-shirt ,baggy jeans and timbs,or jordans and antennas go up .Thats just how it  is in 2007 Mike ,blame the rappers but your running out of chances because your owner is getting fed up and your giving your GM ulcers because now there second guessing the trade that sent Matt to Houston .There thinking is maybe we traded the wrong one. They won't tell you this but there thinking it.

Now Mike this how it's going to go down, your going to pay fines u and your cousin, even though he might see time this isn't his first  brush with the law.Your going to have to talk to the PETA people and say how sorry you are. Also have your family take all the weight and promise to take care of them because if your money stops everyone suffers, especially them.I pretty much believe your the one in the family that has money.

You probably face a suspension from Boss Hogg Goodell ,

Is he a thug, naw just dumb, then again people think Sebastion Telfair is a thug, and from 2 to 17 all he did is prepare for the N.B.A and was sheltered from the streets.

IS IT RIGHT FOR BUSH TO BE PARTYING AND SHAKING HIS A*s
Apr 25, 2007 | 6:22PM | report this

with the Colts while  SOLDIERS ARE DYING OVER SEAS.Fighting in a country they have no business being in.This is my opinion ,but the climate is so  violent here and around the world I don't know how he can be dancing with The Malaria Group and lauding a football team.Im just not in the mood to be dancing with all the stuff going on as far as our soldiers are concerned. It's nice the players were honored ,but half the players there don't like Bush, they put on there front and smile ,but if they could of voiced there opinions on the war without getting the backlash from the media it wouldn't of been so rosey at the White House.

I'm a supporter of our troops ,but i  wondered how they felt  when they saw     Bush Dancing with the Malaria Group, and Partying with Peyton Manning.I'm sure some of them said this guy or MF is having a good time ,and I'M dodging bombs and landmines for what ,for what oh ,operation freedom,or what are they calling it the war against terrorism.By the way terrorism will always be around malaria too.

I just don't feel like dancing ,Mr. Bush,
