**Before I begin I'd just like to say thanks to everyone for your kind words and prayers this last week. You are an amazing bunch of people and I'm thankful to have been included into your fold. I am feeling much better. Went home this weekend and spent Saturday at the farm. Had a little funeral and I made headstones for my girls. It was just what I needed. If you havent heard the news already, let me be the first to tell you. Toyota is taking over the world!! Dale Jr reigns supreme of all he surveys. (I cant say NASCAR cos we all know there's only ONE King of NASCAR).
Now Jr may be a king, but unfortunately he's much like the Queen of England. He's pretty much a figurehead with lots of money and no REAL power. (No Jr Nation, popularity is not really power. Get over it.). He is much loved by many, but has little to do. (**ducking as beer cans come flying at my head**)

Toyota execs caught on film as they get out of their cars for their top secret meetings with these guys.....
They meet in the dead of night, under heavy guard, in sub-terrainian meeting rooms under NASCAR Headquarters. Dirty deals are made and much money exchanges hands. It is arranged. Toyota shall have advantages that the other teams cannot. A blind eye to these will be turned by all officials during inspections. Satan's Child, Kyle shall win a guaranteed 4 more Cup races. They make it so.
The execs leave in their Hummer limos (who else could afford to put gas in those babies??) that they drive as a kind of 'salute' to those they are out to destroy. They chuckle to themselves as they plan and strategize. They guffaw with laughter as they think how NASCAR believes it made a deal for KB.
But these execs know...the REAL, Devil himself, is none other than.....

Haven't you heard, second hand witnesses have reported, on these pages, that their cousin-in-law saw Smoke and Gordon fans throwing beer cans at Kyle this year at Darlington. So don't be so hard on the Nation of Adulation, there may be as many as two others. Out of the 10,000 who threw stuff.
How did Honda beat Toyota in sales this month? Didn't they get the memo?

Let's just take it for what it is, the US automative industry is in need ot resuscitation. The big three have been as complacent as one would come to expect from a bunch of fools who just don't happen to know what time it is. Nor do they really care ! Because if they did then they wouldn't find themselves in such a precarious position.
Kena.Get over it? Popularity in Nascar is power. Who sells more gear year after year? Who gets preferential treatment week after week? And your going to tell me that's not power? What other driver do you know that can have the loosing streak that Jr has and still have the biggest fan base in Nascar? Or for that matter.
Do you actually think that Jr will ever have a problem getting a sponsor? Wouldn't you call that power? Jr nation believe it or not is a lot stronger then what it was last year. When you compare him to his teammates or any other driver besides Kyle at the moment. He is having a very good and consistent season.
Once he gets the win that has been elluding him for some 70+ races. Watch out. Power comes in numbers. And guaranteed you will hear the cheers from his fans from one end of the United States to the other. There is no other driver in Nascar who can make the stands tremble like a bomb just went off whenever he takes the lead like the way that Jr does. Now to me. That's power.

Excellent comments frevr3fan. Those who really know racing realize Jr. is one of the most powerful drivers in the sport and you've outlined many of the reasons. Jr. is way under-rated and way over-hated (mostly because of a small percentage of the dimwits in Jr. Nation). Great job.
One other thing. What is it with the dirty dealings? In an earlier blog you tried to say that HMS was paying off Nascar in your Nascar scandels post. Now this. You really have one heck of an imagination.
Why cant Toyota just win and be left alone? After all your driver is also part of the same organization that you are writing about. Is this how you show your alliance to your driver by saying that JGR is cheating?

Hoosier- Its sad that a lot of fans don't look beyond the person that sits behind the wheel. To much focus is placed on who is driving instead of the accomplishments.

Sweetkena, KB is the devil, you got that right. But Jr. is one of the most powerful drivers in NASCAR, so you got that one wrong. Winning isn't everything. I'd rather back a driver I can respect than a primadona punk like KB.
BTW - I'm a long time lurker but was drawn out by your ordeal last week. I'm a horse owner too and my sympathy goes to you. I lost a dear friend to founder 7 years ago. It still hurts. Keep your chin up girl, and kick on.

Will someone please enlighten me. I'm confused. At the start of the season, Nascar, gave Toyota a new manifold which turns out 30 plus more HP. Now I hear that Toyota is getting a new engine. I have posed this question to some of the so called experts and I get not one answer.
I suspect that before JGR, prior to going with Toyota, had to have assurances that they would be running up front. Nascar didn't want another Toyota debacle like 2007. Nascar, no doubt in my mind, is turning a blind eye.
Also, what ever happened to the #20 car that Nascar confiscated a few years back at TMS and never gave back to JGR. Rumor had it then that the car was given to Toyota. That rumor was never disputed anywhere that I've seen.

People don't seem to understand the troubles I'm having. I'll have to lay off another 10,000 before the year is out.
And we'll still end up losing another $2bn or so.

As for the Jr. reference, I think that was just meant for on the track, of course Jr. could land any sponsor he wants, but so far this year you haven't thought, "Boy, Jr.'s gonna dominate again this weekend."
Not to say Jr. isn't gonna find some wins soon, but he's not an overwhelming power on the track.

there have been other dominant teams like Jeff, Jimmie and at one time the roush teams and you nuts come up with the same thing that they cheating that they getting a pass from nascar. get over it. if Jr. won all the races in the year you nuts would all be so happy. hope Kyle wins 10 more races stick it to you guys till you all have heart failure.

The comparison to the Queen is very amusing(hope they understand that word). I'm not a Jr fan nor a hater, give credit where credit is due. I think Jr is proving himself this year, just what he's proving is debatable. Good job.

Well right now since you apparently can't see the forest for the trees, what Jr. is proving is that he is having a better year than all but two other Cup drivers including a better year than all of your precious Ford drivers. You can look it up - it's illustrated under Points Standings. Gosh, that just seems so obvious I though even you would get it.
