Found out 'bout Paul Newman a day or two days after da fact....Sports results were slow in comin' in...Most media outlets were Hurricane Ike allda time...Cell-phones were iffy and ya couldnt charge 'em up...Bought a power-inverter ('bout 10 days into it) thatya hook-up to yer car battery and it werked on my fan, li'l TV anna li'l lamp in increments...saved on batteries which were in demand and hard to find..etc...etc...
Fortunately, everybody in our neighborhood got power back after 4 days, cept fer 'bout a handful uvvus and my in-laws acrossda street were included in that lucky group...so...we got to shower and git some ice and I caught the Texans-Titans on my sister-in-laws HD TV...Titans are better w/o Vince...fer now...and I bet he has electricity...
All-in-all, it wuzza hassle and it jacked with our comfort-level and usual routines and I gotta admit that yesterday (Sunday) when I saw the Centerpoint trucks come in to our neighborhood, much like a cavalry toda rescue..It wuz better'n any Christmas we ever had..
Az with anythang...ya learn alot whenya experience a mess like this...Here's a few in no particular order:
1) Stockin' up with beer iz paramount...
2) Somebody always hazzit more werser than you...
3) You can acshully live widdout da Internet and HDTV..(don't wanna tho'...)

More because of the drama involved when an incredible upset occurs. I thought the Yankees were invincible and when this moment occurred, it certainly lent credence to a David & Goliath story that I once read in some book somewhere....I even heard it onna high-tech gadget when Mrs. Bobbick wuzn't lookin'..the woman hated me...lol
Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle hit home-runs. And won ballgames with 'em....Ain't no banjo-hittin' dude like Mazeroski was s'posed ta do this...the only thing this guy had in common with those guys was his last initial...and yet...
