I'm gonna give JLIII a link here cuz I figger it's only fair since he gave me an idea about this rant that I got. He's currently doin' a post entitled "My Biggest Sports Pet Peeves" and I dunno if this is so much a pet peeve or not, but I'll tellya...It IZ sumpthin' that REALLY pi_ses me off!
OK_HERE"S_DADEAL...
How many times haveya heard a sports-talk radio show host or sportswriter make the statement: "Wellll, (insert name), Clemens, Bonds, Sosa, Whoever) was a Hall of Famer before he did steroids so, he's got my vote."...?
Other than the obvious, ie., "So was Rose, So was Shoeless Joe, etal.."....Why izzit so hard to figger out that every ONE of us is impeccable beforewe SCREW-UP!!!...Even OJ was considered OK before he took it up on himself to slash his ol' lady's throat...Hell, I know a few guys that had perfect drivin' recordsbefore they gotta DWI...My sister wuzzavirgin before....well, you gitda picture...
These idiots, and there are a lot of 'em, fail to grasp that inda real world, whenya get caught screwin' up, the last thang ya get is anything close to a plaque honoring ya fer breakin' da rules...generally, ya pay...The only one of the aformentioned people or instances, I mentioned that got rewarded...was, hopefully... my sister...
Do me a favor..idiots!..... S-T-F-U!!!!
..............Puttin' 'em in makes "The Hall of Fame" a Joke...Clemens iz wearin' me outtttttttttttt...lol

The one guy who I know'll go in has got to be Ken Griffey Jr. There's never really been a hint of controversy surrounding the guy. But seeing how the baseball writers have been as of late I'm not so sure at this juncture.
As to the likes of Sosa , Clemens , Bonds and the one guy who I tink above all others has definately used 'roids. And that's Juan Gonzalez ! He's been in and out of the game more times than I can remember. An d each time it's been at the advent of some major steroid investigation !
ramp...I swear, I think over 80% did 'em...I just really can't see participants KNOWING that everyone else was doing them and getting away with it, deciding that they would take any kind of "high road"....Not when taking the "high road" would cost them millions and a career...
I've said it a thousand times...for 4 yrs now..It's Selig and Fehr that put these guys inna "catch-22"...and they skate...
Either way...it duzn't alleviate the players guilt...somebody shoulda "dropped a dime" on 'em and ####ed about it....Instead...It was their nasty li'l self serving (money) secret.
I'm bloggin' bout it...but, really, I've vented for far too long and I really don't care that much bout the game anymore...
Theres no question in my mind about Juan G., btw...bet my last dollar onnit...Randy Johnson az well...
The Rubicon has been passed...ain't no amount of anything gonna change it...jus' gotta move forward and keep in mind that that era, essentially, jus' duzn't count...at least with me...I know da deal...

I'll take itta step further, B@O, IMHO, I think that for someone to think otherwise is delusional and total denial...How somebody can disagree with it is absurd...
But they do.

SteveoinHTown Personally I think that they ought to have a room or abbatoir in Cooperstown basically reserved for baseball's Hall Of Shame. That way they can install baseball's so call heroes or anti heroes as the case may be in that particular wing. But these are only my suggestions mind you. So make of 'em what you will.
Perhaps they could hang the effigies of the players in question just like they've hung the carcasses of these piece of kangaroo meat ? And then like I said just call it their Baseball Hall of Shame .
Rev...The one common bond most Texans have is that they ain't to fond of liars...before ya respond to that...GW Bush ain't high on my "Hit Parade", either...lol
ramp/top...I don't know 'bout everyone else but once these guys get in, if they do, The Hall will have made a personal statement to me what importance to put on it..
SteveoninHTown To my mind the relevance of the Hall has become mute and a redundant point. The criteria that's set for entrance is now so nonesensical and the writers are just a bunch malcontents that have their own personal agendas. It's no longer worth the time or effort and basically serves no real purpose when it's merely teh writers adjudicating the entrants.
ramp...Yeah it's kinda moot...More People know who Rose, Clemens, Bonds etc. are than... say....Jim "3-Fingers" Mordecai Brown ex-Cub Pitcher voted in in 1948...
Butya gotta figger his descendants and family are prouder...
SteveoinHTown It's like we've agreed upon it now becomes mute. It's only perhaps the real purists of the game that are keenly interested as to who gets inducted nowadays. Everyone else to my mind doesn't really give a damn one way or another ! I know that I don't for one.
I'm a life-long native of the GREAT COUNTRY of TEXAS. Been a sports fan all my life. I can be serious, irreverent, humorous and sometimes foolish on a lotta my "takes". Never mean any malice to anyone and that's why I have an affinity for "blogging". Cuz, after all, yuh can't whack me upside the head if I change my mind....
