Gomez and Jagr on a line? Good thing it's the new NHL or that would be incredibly killer.

Does that mean Nylander is out?

Gomez, Jagr, and Shanny on a PP is also intriguing to think about. Just glad he's not heading to the west like EDM. I wouldn't want him skating against the AVS on a reg basis.

i have some seriously mixed reactions about this... a devil for years, who killed the rangers at the garden is now a ranger. hes incredibly skilled but i just dont know. of course, if he puts up 100 points this year im gunna be saying i love him, but right now i dunno.

Very good move. I like Gomez just a hair better than Drury, although both would be incredible. Gomez is going to be very aware/responsible in his own end thanks to his days in Jersey. I hope we bring back Nylander to center the first line with Jagr and Straka and Gomez on the second line with Shanny and Avery/Prucha.

I'd take Gomez over Nylander any day of the week. Here's some of my reasons. First Gomez is younger he's only 27 and he's entering his prime. Second Gomez is better defensively than Nylander. Third Nylander was an underachiever before arriving to the Rangers and playing with Jagr. His two highest point total seasons came when he played with Jagr, while Gomez put up strong numbers playing in a heavily defensive system in New Jersey. His passing skills will help Jagr reach 40+ goals. I really like this signing by the Rangers.

If true, this would be the double whammy of helping your team and hurting a division opponent at the same time. I've heard some concerns over how Gomez's play will translate on a different team. Well now we'll get the chance to see if that's really true or baloney. Wonder how Lou will respond?

don't all you ranger fans get all excited. there is no mention of this in the NY media (I live ten minutes outside manhattan)such a coup by the blueshirts would be reported all over. WFAN has even backed off the report of the signing.....and now with Rafalski gone, Lou has some money to play with. And since Rafalski's gone, maybe Souray can be lured back. What do you think spector??

If Lou let the Rangers get Gomer, it had better be for a ridiculous amount of money.

If he is gone, then I hope they go after Drury. After losing Ralphy and Gomer, they'll have more than enough money to throw at him.

Reports are that the Rangers signed Drury as well. Talk about a double whammy!

I hope that Drury is still weighing options and colorado is making a big pitch for him, but reports are out that Ryan Smyth is close to becoming an Av. Get him, Hannan, and maybe another d-man and it's a succeful offseason. Plus, I still see Forsberg resigning with the Avs for a highly discoutned contract 2M and performance bonuses in a week or so.
