Well, that was interesting. Prince did a set consisting of “Let’s Go Crazy”, “Best of You” by the Foo Fighters, and “Purple Rain”.
The “Best of You” cover elicits a ton of responses amongst the press box. Former FOXSports.com editor Andy Nesbitt, says “I want to hear Prince do a version of Metallica’s “One”. Just would love hearing Prince start a song with, “Darkness Imprisoning Me…Is All That I See.” Meanwhile, I've got my buddy Berman texting me, "Can't they just re-play the highlights from the Jacksonville Jaguars 2006 team video or something?"
I'm actually enjoying the performance. Maybe it's like hockey. Much better live than on TV. Adande and I are rocking to “Purple Rain”. Everyone's getting drenched. No one's been electrocuted yet. All in all, pretty fun little performance here out of Prince. Still would have rather heard Billy Joel do "Miami 2017".
I look towards Peter King. He’s nowhere to be seen. I wanted to see him singing along, too. Sipping on a Starbucks double mocha venti latte, just taking it in. Nope. No such luck. Oh well.
Yep" I missed it too, running to auto parts store. Guess being able too stop is more important! Being from Minny i would like to see a replay of the half time show! Anyone know where?

What in the heck have you all been smoking??? This had to have been the worst halftime show I've ever seen. Justin Timberlake and Janet were even better than Prince.

I loved Prince's performance! He always put's on a good show. His outfit was tight! He looked good as usual. What can you say he is a True True legend. His dancers rocked! Much love to Prince always.
i thought the halftime show was one of the best in years, Prince did a masterful job and it just goes to show why he is one of the best. Seriously though what's with all the Peyton hate it's ridiculous it's like people have nothing better to do then hate someone because they're the best at what they do........bears fans can be extremely poor losers though but when you consider your quarterback rex everything he touches who wouldn't be.
Prince just saved the Superbowl Half time show! If you didn't like Prince you were wanting too much. You know the NFL made sure he didn't get too funky. Who was that beatles clown last year? He stunk! Any way you put it, Prince rocked that one playa.
i Thought Prince waw terrific. I've been a fan since 1978 when his first album came out YES ALBUM. And he does not disappoint. He's strange but definitely not boring. It was great hearing Baby I'm a Star

Prince rocked! best half time show i can remember! Finally a real professional who cares about the fans and the end product. You could actually hear the words and everything. Flawless!
Prince oh what a Shame I though Stevie Nicks was A lot better before the Game even started. She doesn't need a Lot Of fireworks or dancers she is a real preformer.

I'm not even a Prince fan, but that was easily the best Super Bowl halftime show I've ever seen. "Purple Rain" in the pouring rain just worked to perfection.
That was the worst superbowl halftime entertainment I have ever seen. Prince was boring. There were 8 of us watching the game from my home and it was not enjoyed at all. Perhaps you should have entertainment that can be enjoyed by the entire group no matter what their ages are. Prince sucked!

I thought this halftime show was one of the worst ones I have ever seen. The part where the white sheet was brought up and his image was cast on it was very vulgar and not for family viewing. I think that Pepsi should rethink who they have preform at halftime.

Right on, Einstein! And the lip sinking. . .that was just plain horrible. I did like that mic he was using. Was that a modded MXL and a Mogami cable? Amazing the whiny little focker didn't get electrocuted in all that purple rain.
I am not a Prince fan....but he was awesome. Playing electric guitar in that pouring rain and singing his guts out, plus he sounded good! Age has mellowed his voice. I give him a huge thumbs up. My hubby is a James Taylor fan, and yes, even HE thought it was agreat performance. I thought he might pull a diva stunt with the bad weather, but he was all class.
I think this halftime show may have been one of the best in recent years. Though Prince's antics may be fruity and though we may all laugh at the "Chappelle Show" skit on him, Prince can play a mean guitar. I think he may be one of the most underated guitar soloists out there, if not for how good he plays, then how creatively he rocks.
I can only say...AWESOME!!! a true artist and Prince has the fans to prove it...fatty Berman and the author probably think the awful, flat, off-key singing by Billy Joel was something "great"...go figure...next time get a life...by the way if Prince is #### then those beautiful twins must be a mirage....GO PRINCE!!!!
Why in the world does it even matter if he's #### or not? If that's important to you, quite frankly, your opinion isn't worthwhile (like the fellow who thought he was "lip sinking"). At the end of the day, it was just an extremely entertaining diversion, which is just what the Super Bowl half time show should be.
Several years ago, had a chance to see the Purple One in NYC. I was a sort of casual fan, not really into him. After the show, I was tranformed. One of the great guitar players of his generation. That tantalizing snippet of "Watchtower" tonight was great _ and classic Prince. Talk about Metallica; in the Fleet Center last year he played a slice of "I Will Follow" by U2. This halftime show was the best one in years and years. And while Prince is a bit of a diva, let's face it: Tonight he was a pros pro. Not everyone gets out there and plays their butt off in a downpour.
What happen to having enteraiers during the halftime that were actually entertaining? Come on Prince one of the most unmanly men on the planet during the most popular halftime show in the sports world. He sang songs that were popular when some of the players weren't born. Can we get past the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction and try and make the halftime show something I want to watch rather than getting up to get some food or flip through the channels to see what rerun episode they are airing of a series marathon on antoher channel. Lets get back to doing what you guys do best put on a show that is exciting and entertaining.
This was one of the best halftime shows I've seen in years...since U2's 2001 show. Great guitar playing and a real pro playing it in the rain. Perfect ending with purple rain. Much better than those MTV overhyped halftime shows. Very cool way he covered other songs into the show. A halftime show that actually was very good...what a concept!
I don't understand why you people actually like this ####...worst halftime show ever...why can't they pick someone that people actually like...i still think the 2002 U2 haltime show was the best show ever.
That would be lip "syncing," Chief. And with the evidence that you give, who could possibly argue? I've seen plenty of lip-synced performances, and that was DEFINITELY not one of them.
Best half time show in a long time!!!!! Last years show was boring considering it was The rolling Stones. But Prince did an AMAZING JOB for singing in all that rain… other half time shows weren’t good because all the artists weren’t on the same level performance or showmanship.
